Riverview Crossing pool Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Harrison, Ohio area and considering long-term living options, Riverview Crossing pool, located at 4900 River Crest Dr, Harrison, OH 45030, USA, is a mobile home community that identifies as a retirement community. While primarily designed for mobile homes, it may present itself as a potential option for individuals seeking a more permanent living arrangement in the vicinity, which could fall under the broader search of "RV parks near me" for extended stays rather than short-term travel accommodations. It is important to understand that the focus here is on long-term residency within a mobile home park setting catering to retirees.
Based on the available customer reviews, it is essential for prospective residents to carefully consider several significant concerns raised by current inhabitants of Riverview Crossing pool. These reviews highlight potential issues related to pest control, increasing lot rent, minimal upkeep, and, most seriously, allegations of racism within the community.
One review specifically warns about a significant wasp population, stating that it is "higher than anywhere else in the area" and advising individuals with allergies to stings against moving there. This suggests a potential lack of effective pest control measures within the community, which could impact the comfort and safety of residents.
Another long-term resident, who has lived in Riverview Crossing pool for eight years and initially liked it, raises concerns about repeated increases in lot rent without corresponding improvements in amenities or upkeep. This resident notes that the community is primarily a retirement community with many residents on fixed incomes, making these rent increases particularly burdensome given the rising cost of living. The reviewer also mentions that the current lot rent is comparable to other parks with similar amenities that charge significantly less, suggesting a potential lack of value for the cost.
Most alarmingly, the same long-term resident reports instances of racism within the community. They recount two separate occasions where their bi-racial grandchildren, who were "minding their own business and being kids," were verbally attacked with racial slurs by certain neighbors. The reviewer also states that when their daughter attempted to address the issue with one of the neighbors, she was also verbally attacked. This is a severe concern and indicates a potentially hostile social environment for individuals and families of diverse backgrounds.
Given these critical reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive introduction to Riverview Crossing pool. The issues raised by residents regarding pest control, increasing costs without added value, minimal upkeep, and, most significantly, racism, are serious considerations for anyone contemplating moving into this community. The information available does not highlight any specific amenities or services that would outweigh these significant concerns.
For individuals searching within the "RV parks near me" category for a long-term living solution and considering Riverview Crossing pool, it is crucial to approach this community with extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. The negative feedback, particularly the allegations of racism, should be a primary focus of investigation.
To gain a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of Riverview Crossing pool, potential residents are strongly advised to:
- Contact the park management directly at (513) 353-9683 or +1 513-353-9683 to inquire about current lot rental rates, pest control measures, maintenance schedules, community guidelines, and how the management addresses resident concerns, including issues of harassment and discrimination. It is essential to directly address the concerns raised in the online reviews with the management and seek their perspective and policies.
- Schedule a visit to the park to personally assess the environment and the upkeep of the community. Pay close attention to the general atmosphere and any visible signs of pest issues or lack of maintenance.
- If possible, attempt to speak with current residents to gain firsthand accounts of their experiences living in the park. It is crucial to seek a range of perspectives, if possible, to understand the overall community dynamics.
- Inquire about the community's rules and regulations regarding resident conduct and the steps taken to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for all.
- Carefully review any lease agreements or other documentation provided by the park management to understand the terms and conditions of residency, including policies on rent increases and community standards.
Due to the serious nature of the concerns raised in the available reviews, particularly the allegations of racism, it is impossible to offer any promotional information or highlight specific positive features without potentially misleading prospective residents. The objective information available paints a concerning picture that warrants thorough investigation.
In conclusion, while Riverview Crossing pool in Harrison, OH, may appear as a potential option for those seeking long-term residency in the context of searching for "RV parks near me," the limited online feedback raises significant red flags. The reported issues with pest control, increasing lot rent without improved services, minimal upkeep, and, most gravely, allegations of racism, demand extreme caution. Prospective residents must conduct thorough, in-person investigations and seek detailed information from the management and current residents to determine if this community can provide a safe, respectful, and satisfactory living environment.

be warned that this community is lazy at pest control- the wasp population is higher than anywhere else in the area.I wouldn't move here if I was allergic to stings.
Apr 21, 2025 · BHello, I have been living here 8 years. I like it very much. I feel safe, and the neighborhood is nice. But I too have seen the lot rent go up multiple times. The amenities have not changed. The up keep is very minimal. This is a retirement community with most residents on fixed incomes. The economy is already hurting us, with the prices on everything going up. All this takes place because they can. I know others that live in other parks like this that only pay $200 a month for lot rent, and they have the same amenities. But my main reason for this post is to let our community know we have a couple neighbors that are racist. I have bi-racial grandkids. They have been verbally attacked on two different occasions by these neighbors. My grandkids were only minding their own business and being kids. They were harassed by being called racial slurs. The kids were not doing anything wrong. Besides if you have an issue with a child you shouldn't attack the child you should speak to their parents. My daughter tried to speak with one of the neighbors and was attacked verbally as well. Truly sad that we have this kind of issue in a nice neighborhood.
Jul 11, 2024 · Samantha DunnI have lived here for 3 years. This is a great place to live. The cost of living here is affordable especially when it is compared to rentals. I feel safe leaving for a few months that my home is protected and watched over by the neighborhood. The amenities are fantastic. The management staff is wonderful. Always answering the phone and acting on any questions or issues that we may have.
Dec 26, 2023 · Cindy JohnstonThis is a response from the owner to one of the reviews posted here;Thank you for your feedback, ... We appreciate your positive comments ... We understand your concerns regarding the yearly rate increases and the impact it may have on our residents. We continuously strive to provide value for the rent paid and will take your feedback into consideration. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us ...As a long time resident my response is this: Over the years more and more amenities have been removed while the lot fee went up. We don't need more amenities. We don't need more 'value' for the rent paid'. We need a lot rent that reflects the CURRENT value. Taking into consideration that we OWN our homes and do our own lawn care, the cost to rent the small plot of land it sits on is ridiculous. Many, if not most, of the residents are on fixed incomes. As a community that is currently a 55+ only for new residents and a 'retirement' community, how is it expected for your residents to continue to live here? My monthly lot rent has gone up over $400 since we took ownership of our home.So again, we don't need more of anything. We need a smaller lot rent fee. Stop raising the fee. If you actually care abut your residents, LOWER it!Don't ask me to call. You give the same empty responses every time.
Jan 01, 2024 · Mell yI’ve lived here a little over three years and I love it. Great pool, clubhouse and many community events to take part in. The management team, Brenda and Pam, do a great job as well as the maintenance team. I feel safe here as neighbors watch out for each other.
