The first time I stayed at Booth Cottages I was 5 years old. We spent 3 weeks every summer until I went away to college. I'm 76 now and I can see that they haven't changed that much in all that time. The owner was Murray Booth and he had a bunch of regulars who stayed there every summer. The cabins had a fridge, a stove, a toilet and a shower. No heat or AC but they did have a fireplace in several of the cottages. Murray had a real clam bake on the beach every month. I remember my father complaining that the lobsters cost $0.50 each. We dug our own clams right on the tidal flats. Made beech plum and rosehip jelly from fruit we picked right around the cottages. - Phil Harang
