Shady Pines RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Nacogdoches, Texas, Shady Pines RV Park is located at 2709 Westward Dr. While the park may appear as an option within this category, it is crucial to consider recent customer feedback before making a decision. The provided reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the park's maintenance, safety, and overall guest experience. You can contact the park at (936) 569-3083 or +1 936-569-3083 for further information, but it is highly recommended to weigh this information against the experiences shared by other travelers.
One detailed review describes Shady Pines RV Park as "horrifically maintained." The reviewer encountered issues at two separate spots, noting that the water spigots were broken and that the owner appeared indifferent to these problems. Additionally, the review highlights the presence of significant potholes, described as "the size of moon craters," raising concerns about potential vehicle damage. Electrical issues were also reported, with the reviewer stating that their electric cord was blown out due to "sketchy" electric service. This paints a picture of potentially neglected infrastructure within the park.
Furthermore, the same reviewer mentioned a discrepancy regarding pricing and the Passport America discount. They claimed that the park staff repeatedly attempted to overcharge them until they corrected the math. This suggests potential issues with billing transparency and adherence to advertised discounts. The reviewer also noted a disruptive noise issue stemming from a nearby Mexican restaurant playing "extremely loud Spanish music" that was audible inside their RV, impacting their ability to relax.
Adding to these concerns, another review simply states, "Very bad experience. Filled with druggies that very loudly roam the park all night. Not a safe place to stay." This review raises serious safety concerns for potential guests, suggesting a disruptive and potentially unsafe environment within the park during nighttime hours. The reviewer explicitly advises others to "look for a better place next time we are thru Nac," indicating a strong dissatisfaction with their stay.
Based on this direct customer feedback, the environment of Shady Pines RV Park appears to be far from ideal. The reports of poor maintenance, including broken water spigots and hazardous potholes, suggest a lack of attention to the basic upkeep of the property. The "sketchy" electrical service raises concerns about the reliability and safety of the utilities provided to RV sites. The noise from a nearby restaurant further detracts from the peacefulness that many RV travelers seek.
The services and features typically expected at an RV park may be compromised at Shady Pines RV Park based on these reviews. While the park likely offers basic hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, the reported issues with the functionality of the water spigots and the instability of the electrical service indicate that these essential services may not be reliable. The absence of any positive comments regarding amenities such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or recreational areas suggests that these may be either poorly maintained or non-existent. The negative comments heavily outweigh any potential positives.
Given the serious safety concerns raised in one of the reviews, the overall atmosphere and security of Shady Pines RV Park appear to be significant issues. The presence of individuals described as "druggies" loudly roaming the park at night suggests a lack of security and a potentially uncomfortable or even threatening environment for other guests. This is a critical factor for local users to consider, especially those traveling with families or prioritizing personal safety.
Promotional information for Shady Pines RV Park is not provided in the reviews. However, one reviewer mentioned that the "price is cheap," which might be a factor attracting some budget-conscious travelers. However, the overwhelming negative feedback strongly suggests that the low price may not compensate for the reported poor conditions, safety concerns, and potential for additional expenses such as vehicle repairs or replacement of damaged electrical cords. The reviewer explicitly advises against wasting money at this park and recommends spending more for "peace of mind."
In conclusion, for local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Nacogdoches, TX, the available customer reviews for Shady Pines RV Park at 2709 Westward Dr present a very negative picture. Reports of horrific maintenance, unreliable utilities, significant safety concerns, questionable billing practices, and disruptive noise levels should be carefully considered. While the price may be low, the overwhelming consensus from these reviews suggests a high likelihood of a negative experience. Local users are strongly advised to weigh these serious concerns and potentially explore alternative RV parks in the Nacogdoches area that may offer a safer, more comfortable, and better-maintained environment, even if at a slightly higher cost. The feedback indicates that spending a little extra elsewhere may indeed provide greater "peace of mind."

Shady Pines RV Park Reviews
Rv park is horrifically maintained. Price is cheap however I went to two seperate spots where the water spiket was busted and the owner caredless, this lot has pot holes the size of moon cratters so expect major car repairs if you drive in one, electric is sketchy it blew out one of my electric cords, just an overall bad place. I explained how I belong to passport America yet nobody checked anything and they are constantly attempting to change the price till you check them on their own math. As an added bonus the new Mexican restaurant decided to play extremely loud Spanish music that I could hear so loud inside my rv I couldn't even think. Makes me get that cozy feeling like I'm back in the hood of houston. Don't waste your money spend a little extra for peace of mind.
Jan 29, 2024 · mel cookVery bad experience. Filled with druggies that very loudly roam the park all night. Not a safe place to stay. Will look for better place next time we are thru Nac.
Jun 30, 2024 · Ghee the crafty GrandmaGreat place for a quick stop. Quiet and easy to see from the highway, although the GPS leads to the smokehouse next door which was kind of confusing when trying to find the entrance in the dark. Stayed overnight and no complaints. The owner was very nice and down to earth.
Oct 08, 2020 · Sam DavisThe picture for this park is not correct. It's a photo of CCs Smokehouse next door. I forgot to take photos of the run- down park. It's very small with a lot of old, dilapidated RVs that don't look towable. There were 2 newer RVs in the park. Some of the renters were very nice and helpful. The owner sounded nice over the phone, but that's all we know of him. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the nice renters. We only stayed one night, but it was one night too many. One renter's pitbull dog got loose while we were walking our little dog of 14 pounds and it came after our little dog. My husband got injured from our dogs nails trying to get him in his arms for safety. Our dog was terrified and my husband was injured, so we called the police. The renter didn't want to take the blame so we let the police sort him out. This park came recommended from one of our camping memberships, but we've notified them of this park and don't recommend it for anyone. We will not stay here again and won't let our friends or family stay here. We didn't see a bath house and a camper was shaving outside.
May 02, 2020 · Suzie BDon’t let looks deceive you!!! This is a great little park and I’m happy we found it. The rate was really reasonable so one can’t complain. I was pleasantly surprised by how quite the park was. No problems and my neighbor was really nice. We left the park and realized about an hour away that I may have dropped. Of my AirPods (wireless/Bluetooth headphones for those who don’t know). I called the owner and let him know my dilemma and He immediately went and looked. As luck has it, he found it and called me right back! Heath, you’re awesome brother! Thank you again🤙🏼 Within an hour Heath had my AirPod in a box and shipped. It arrived safe and sound. I’m looking forward to our next stay and checking out the restaurant as well(smokehouse) it has great reviews:)
