Sheldon Road RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Channelview area of Houston, Texas, Sheldon Road RV Park, located at 213 Tower St, Channelview, TX 77530, USA, presents itself as an option to consider. You can reach them at (832) 473-1045 or +1 832-473-1045 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, the park exhibits a mix of positive and negative attributes that potential visitors should be aware of.
One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with several aspects of Sheldon Road RV Park. They highlighted the presence of "the worst potholes," suggesting that the road conditions within the park may be poor and could pose challenges for maneuvering RVs or even walking. This is a practical consideration for anyone planning to stay at the park, especially those with larger rigs or mobility issues.
The same reviewer also described the mosquito situation as "unbearable," indicating a potentially severe pest problem. They further noted that the park is "way too hot with little to no shade" and often "too wet and muddy." These environmental factors could significantly impact the comfort and enjoyment of staying at Sheldon Road RV Park, particularly during the hot and humid Texas summers or after periods of rain. The lack of shade would make it difficult to spend time outdoors comfortably, and muddy conditions could make navigating the park and setting up camp challenging.
Adding to the negative feedback, this reviewer raised concerns about the park management and maintenance. They alleged that the maintenance man was observed "trying to open someone's camper door while they were not home," which is a serious security concern. Trust and security are paramount in any residential or temporary living environment, and such an allegation should be carefully considered by potential guests. The reviewer also mentioned that the park is under new management, which they believe is being used as an "excuse" for high utility bills, specifically a $130 light bill despite being "barely home." This suggests potential issues with utility billing transparency or efficiency under the new management.
In contrast to this negative account, another reviewer offered a more positive perspective. They stated that while the park is "not much to look at," it is "very quiet and comfortable" and offers "good rates." This suggests that Sheldon Road RV Park might appeal to those prioritizing peace and quiet and seeking a more budget-friendly option, even if the aesthetics are not particularly appealing. The emphasis on comfort implies that the basic amenities and the overall atmosphere, aside from the visual aspects, might be satisfactory for some visitors.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, Sheldon Road RV Park presents a situation where potential benefits, such as quietness and potentially lower rates, are weighed against significant drawbacks like poor road conditions (potholes), severe mosquito problems, lack of shade, muddy grounds, and serious allegations regarding maintenance and utility billing practices under new management.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Sheldon Road RV Park in Channelview offers a location within the Houston metropolitan area. However, the strong negative feedback regarding the environment (pests, heat, mud), infrastructure (potholes), and especially the concerning allegation about the maintenance staff, necessitates a cautious approach. The positive comment about quietness and good rates might be attractive to some, but these factors need to be balanced against the potential discomfort and security concerns raised in the other review.
Prospective visitors should consider their priorities carefully. If a quiet and affordable stay is the primary concern, and they are prepared to deal with potential environmental discomforts and exercise caution regarding security, Sheldon Road RV Park might be an option worth further investigation. However, the issues raised about the park's physical condition and management practices should not be overlooked.
It is strongly recommended that anyone considering a stay at Sheldon Road RV Park contact the management directly at (832) 473-1045 or +1 832-473-1045 to inquire about the current conditions of the roads, pest control measures, shade availability, utility billing policies, and security protocols. It would also be wise to ask specifically about the allegations made in the negative review and the management's response to these concerns. If possible, visiting the park in person to assess the conditions for oneself would be the most prudent course of action. Observing the state of the roads, the presence of mosquitoes, the amount of shade, and the general upkeep of the park could provide valuable insights.
In conclusion, Sheldon Road RV Park in Channelview, TX, appears to be a budget-friendly and quiet option according to one reviewer. However, significant concerns have been raised by another reviewer regarding poor infrastructure, unpleasant environmental conditions, and troubling allegations about the maintenance staff and management practices. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives and conduct thorough due diligence before making a decision about staying at Sheldon Road RV Park.

Sheldon Road RV Park Reviews
This place has the worst potholes. The mosquitos are unbearable its way too hot with little to no shade and much too wet and muddy the place would be fine if managment would stop the maintenence man from being a pain. My husband saw him trying to open someone's camper door while they were not home. From my understanding this place is under new managment so i guess that would be their excuse for having 130 dollar lignt bills when we are barely home. Yea right.
