Smokey Ridge Rv Park & Storage Introduce
Are you searching for an RV park in the Claremore, Oklahoma area? Smokey Ridge RV Park & Storage, located at 8771 S 4180 Rd, Claremore, OK 74017, USA, presents a location with notably contrasting reviews from its guests. As you explore options under the category "RV parks near me," it's crucial to consider both the positive aspects highlighted by some and the significant drawbacks reported by others. You can contact the park at (918) 398-1920 or via mobile phone at +1 918-398-1920 for further information.
One long-term resident, who has been at Smokey Ridge RV Park for about a year, offers a positive perspective. They commend the manager, C, for running the park with "compassion and such a great energy," noting her quick and understanding response to issues. This reviewer highlights several features they appreciate, particularly for families with children. The park boasts a "dirt racetrack for their bikes, the basketball hoop and the game room," providing recreational opportunities for kids. Safety is also a noted priority, with a "storm shelter and personal texts if something crazy is coming (storms, cold snaps, etc)." Additionally, they mention a "clean laundry area and game room's pool table." The reviewer also points out that the park is "always looking at the next upgrade and improvement." They describe a "family friendly park" with "really great neighbors" and find the pricing to be "reasonably priced." The location is also praised for being close to "great hiking, fishing, and swimming areas" while being "close enough to towns and far enough out to decrease the traffic and city issues." Based on this review, Smokey Ridge RV Park appears to be a well-managed, family-oriented park with a focus on safety and community, located near outdoor recreational opportunities.
However, a significantly negative review paints a very different picture of Smokey Ridge RV Park & Storage. This reviewer states they would give a "negative star value" if possible and expresses extreme dissatisfaction. A primary and critical complaint is the complete absence of bathroom facilities: "how can you have an RV park without any bathroom once so ever... Who wants to shower and relieve themselves in their camper while at a campground.!? That's the whole point of paying for a slip, is using the facilities and showers.!" This lack of essential amenities is a major concern for RV travelers who typically expect these facilities to be available. The reviewer sarcastically remarks that if they wanted to boondock (camp without hookups or facilities), they would have chosen a location "not this far from anything," implying the park's somewhat remote location exacerbates the lack of bathrooms.
Further criticisms include the lack of shade ("not one shade tree in site, so your camper is left to bake in the sun") and the monthly rate of "$400 a month plus electric" being considered unreasonable given the lack of amenities. The reviewer also warns of potential "flash flooding ever single time it rains" due to poor grading, and notes that the "slots are unlevel." The storage is described as "extremely overpriced."
The on-site laundry facilities also receive harsh criticism, with the washer described as running on a short timer and the dryer taking an excessive amount of time even for small loads, leading the reviewer to recommend driving "30 + miles to Claremore laundry mat." The dog walk area and horseshoe area are described as a "real mud hole." The reviewer found the management to be "not friendly ever, only over the phone is decent." The parking lot is described as a "large rock graded lot, when it should be pea gravel." The reviewer concludes by stating they have been to "in upwards of 100 RV parks" and promises "this is the worst... The only one across America with zero shower facilities..! Don't waste your time here..!"
Considering these starkly contrasting reviews, the environment and features of Smokey Ridge RV Park & Storage appear to be a point of significant contention. While one reviewer highlights a family-friendly atmosphere with recreational amenities, safety measures, and ongoing improvements in a location near outdoor activities, the other describes a park lacking basic bathroom facilities, proper grading leading to flooding, unlevel sites, overpriced services, and unfriendly management.
In terms of services, the positive review mentions a clean laundry area and a game room with a pool table. The negative review corroborates the existence of the laundry but strongly criticizes its functionality. The provision of storm shelter information via text is also noted as a safety service. However, the absence of bathrooms/showers is a critical lack of service according to one reviewer.
The features mentioned include a dirt racetrack, basketball hoop, game room, storm shelter, and laundry. The location is described as reasonably priced by one reviewer and overpriced by another when considering the lack of amenities. Its proximity to nature and relative distance from city congestion are also noted.
There is no explicit promotional information in the provided reviews. The positive reviewer mentions reasonable pricing, which could be seen as a positive aspect for budget-conscious travelers, but this is contradicted by the other reviewer's opinion of the value for money.
For those searching under "RV parks near me," Smokey Ridge RV Park & Storage presents a complex picture. If bathroom facilities are a non-negotiable requirement, the negative review strongly suggests looking elsewhere. However, if a quiet location with family-friendly activities and a proactive manager (as described by one reviewer) outweighs the lack of on-site restrooms and showers, it might be a consideration, especially for self-contained RVs. Potential guests should weigh the provided feedback carefully and consider their own needs and priorities. Contacting the park directly to inquire about the presence (or lack thereof) of bathroom facilities, the grading of the sites, and the current monthly rate would be essential before making a decision. It would also be prudent to inquire about any recent upgrades or changes that might address the concerns raised in the negative review.

Smokey Ridge Rv Park & Storage Reviews
We have been here for about a year now. C runs this place with compassion and such a great energy. When she is made aware of issues, she is quick to address them with understanding for all parties. The park itself has some really great features. My kids love the dirt racetrack for their bikes, the basketball hoop and the game room. I love the fact that they have safety in mind with a storm shelter and personal texts if something crazy is coming (storms, cold snaps, etc), clean laundry area and game room's pool table. They are always looking at the next upgrade and improvement and ways to make life here even better. We have had some really great neighbors in this family friendly park, and looking forward to continuing to reside here until we buy our own piece of land. Reasonably priced, and close to a lot of great hiking, fishing, and swimming areas, close enough to towns and far enough out to decrease the traffic and city issues, you can't go wrong with Smokey Ridge RV Park.
Feb 21, 2025 · Lea RobertsIf possible I would for sure select negative star value, as this place deserves the placement..! First of all how can you have an RV park without any bathroom once so ever, IF I WANTED TO BOONDOCK I WOULDN'T EVER SELECT THIS FAR FROM ANYTHING..! Who wants to shower and relieve themselves in their camper while at a campground.!? That's the whole point of paying for a slip, is using the facilities and showers.! Kids must run back to the camper when outside playing on basketball court.. not one shade tree in site, so your camper is left to bake in the sun, ugh ! $400 a month plus electric, c'mon now, that's not included.!!! Unbelievable.!! 10 miles to the nearest and only hole in the wall gas station..! Be prepared for flash flooding ever single time it rains, as they did a terrible job grading on downhill, slots are unlevel.. the storage is extremely overpriced, the washer and dryer they have onsite, is not worth $2 per, washer(on a timer, whilst should be complete through cycle) cycles on single 8 minute wash, drains, fills up spins out, seriously expect to drive 30 + miles to Claremore laundry mat, as the one here doesn't cut it, and 18 minutes dry cycle leaves the smallest load still wet,.. a real mud hole for a dog walk horseshoe area.! Not friendly ever, only over the phone is decent.! Large rock graded lot, when it should be pea gravel.. I have been to in upwards of 100 RV parks, I promise this is the worst..! The only one across America with zero shower facilities..! Don't waste your time here..!
Apr 11, 2025 · Peter DragonWe were displaced after the tornado in Claremore KOA, May 2024. Kristie made as many sites available as she had for those of us that chose to relocate there. Kristie is awesome, so easy to talk to and work with. We stayed from end of May 2024-Jan 2025. The park is quiet, clean, secure, kid/pet friendly and so pretty. Close to the lake and Chelsea or Claremore. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again.
Mar 05, 2025 · Michael BogartI'm a full time RV'er and I have been searching for a nice, pet friendly park to call home. The location is amazing with the lake close and Claremore close but yet you still have the country feeling and lack of chaotic traffic.
