South Lyon Woods Manufactured Home Community Introduce
For local users in South Lyon, Michigan, who are exploring "RV parks near me" with an eye towards a more permanent or long-term residential solution, South Lyon Woods Manufactured Home Community, located at 530 Lanier St, South Lyon, MI 48178, USA, presents a community to consider. While primarily a manufactured home community offering long-term housing, individuals seeking a stable living environment might explore such options even if their initial search falls under the category of "RV parks near me." You can contact South Lyon Woods at (248) 437-0676 or +1 248-437-0676 for inquiries about residency.
Based on the limited customer reviews available, South Lyon Woods appears to be a community in transition, with management actively working towards improvements. One resident noted that "the management is trying to make this a nicer place to live," indicating an ongoing effort to enhance the overall living experience for its residents. This proactive approach from the management is a positive sign for the community's future.
However, this same reviewer also pointed out existing challenges within the park. They mentioned a "fair amount of riff raff" still present, suggesting that while improvements are underway, some issues may persist. Additionally, they raised concerns about the maintenance of the "dumpsters/junk yard next door to our lot," describing them as "poorly maintained." This proximity to poorly maintained areas could impact the environment and aesthetic appeal for residents in that part of the community.
Another significant point raised by this reviewer is the cost of living, specifically stating that "lot rent is more expensive than other parks in the area." This is a crucial factor for prospective residents to consider, as higher lot rent can impact the overall affordability of living in the community, even if the homes themselves are reasonably priced.
In contrast to the detailed feedback above, another reviewer offered a brief and neutral observation, stating, "Seems like a nice place. Just visiting to help my niece move into her new home." This suggests that at least some parts of the community present a positive initial impression, particularly for someone visiting. However, as a visitor's perspective, it may not fully reflect the long-term living experience and potential challenges mentioned by the other resident.
Considering these limited reviews, South Lyon Woods Manufactured Home Community presents a mixed picture for potential local residents who might be considering it as a long-term option found through a search for "RV parks near me." The key takeaways from the available information are:
- Management Efforts for Improvement: The current management is actively trying to make the community a nicer place to live, indicating a positive direction for the future.
- Existing Community Challenges: There are mentions of a "fair amount of riff raff" still present, suggesting that some issues within the community may need further attention.
- Maintenance Concerns: Poor maintenance of the dumpsters/junk yard near at least one lot is a reported issue affecting the local environment for some residents.
- Higher Lot Rent: The cost of lot rent is noted as being more expensive compared to other mobile home parks in the area, impacting affordability.
- Positive Initial Impression: A visitor found the place to "seem nice," suggesting that some aspects of the community are appealing.
For local users in South Lyon, Michigan, who are exploring their long-term housing options and come across South Lyon Woods in their search for "RV parks near me," it is essential to weigh these points carefully. While the management's efforts to improve the community are encouraging, the existing challenges and the higher cost of lot rent are significant factors that prospective residents should investigate further.
It is important to note that as a manufactured home community, the primary mode of residency would involve either purchasing or renting a manufactured home located on a leased lot within the park. While some manufactured home communities might occasionally accommodate RVs for long-term stays, this is not their primary function, and the infrastructure and regulations might differ from those of a traditional RV park. Therefore, individuals specifically looking for "RV parks near me" for their recreational vehicles should verify if South Lyon Woods offers such accommodations and if the terms are suitable for their needs.
To gain a clearer understanding of the current situation at South Lyon Woods and its suitability for your long-term residential needs, it is highly recommended to contact the management directly at (248) 437-0676 or +1 248-437-0676. Inquiries should focus on:
- Availability of homes for sale or rent: Understanding the current housing options and associated costs.
- Lot rental fees: Confirming the current lot rent and understanding what services are included. It would also be beneficial to inquire about any potential future increases.
- The nature of the ongoing improvements: What specific steps are being taken to address the existing challenges within the community?
- Maintenance of common areas: Inquire about the upkeep of areas such as dumpsters and any neighboring properties that might impact residents.
- Community rules and regulations: Understanding the expectations for residents and any restrictions that may apply.
- Amenities offered within the community: While not mentioned in the reviews, inquire about any facilities or services available for residents (e.g., community center, recreational areas).
- Policies regarding long-term RV stays (if applicable): If you are an RV owner seeking a long-term location, inquire if this is an option and what the terms would be.
By directly communicating with the management and potentially visiting the community, local users can gain a more accurate and up-to-date assessment of South Lyon Woods Manufactured Home Community. This will help in determining if the potential for future improvements outweighs the current challenges and the higher cost of lot rent, ultimately deciding if it is a suitable long-term living option in the South Lyon area, even for those who started their search looking for "RV parks near me."

South Lyon Woods Manufactured Home Community Reviews
The management is trying to make this a nicer place to live but there is still a fair amount of riff raff in the park. The dumpsters/junk yard next door to our lot are poorly maintained. Also, lot rent is more expensive than other parks in the area.
Mar 24, 2019 · Rachel Elliott-GolemaSeems like a nice place. Just visiting to help my niece move into her new home.
Dec 13, 2024 · Frank EarlyHave been shown a few homes in here by 2 different people. Both will tell you anything you want to hear so you fill out an application. Then the application process ends up taking weeks to be processed. Communication was horrible and they ended up wasting over a month of time. I would not recommend. They wonder why they haven't sold any new homes. HA that's why
May 26, 2023 · Matt HogueThis is the most expensive park in most of Livingston county. Even the beautiful place on 9 mile is cheaper. The new manager and assistant manager don’t return phone calls, they threaten residents that live here. The maintenance guy during the winter would leave skirting off causing pipes to freezer at the residents expense. Now that weather is getting nice he likes to sit in the dumpster area drinking beer when he should be repairing pot holes, cleaning up garbage from evictions, repair potholes, cleaning up broken glass from empty trailers, repairing potholes, mowing and if I didn’t make it clear repairing potholes!!! And don’t lie and say it is because of weather that we still huge potholes on every street.Get a new manager that does their job and maybe an owner that cares about something other than money.
Apr 24, 2021 · Connie RoseIt brings me great displeasure to have to write this review. Ive really tried my hardest to postpone this update for as long as possible but enough is enough. Ive lived here for 6 months now and its slowly been turning into a nightmare. I have a very well kept lawn and flower bed yet this park still feels the need to harass me with "WARNING VIOLATION NOTICES" every 2 weeks stating I need to weed my yard. I have one of the nicest and most maintained properties in this park and it is mind blowing I keep receiving these letters while surrounding properties with worse yards do not.Instead of the community managers leaving me notes, They should be working on the upkeep around their own properties and the main office. I consistently have to drive around MASSIVE potholes on EVERY road in this park, along with having to look at a very POORLY kept main office and open field leading up to my house.Very rarely do I ever leave a poor review because its just not my style (Look at my other reviews) but this is where I draw the line. The borderline harassment from the community managers is getting old.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARK OR ANY OF ITS OTHER PARKS RUN BY THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY.Below is my previous review, stating that when I moved in, I really did enjoy this place. But it seems their attention is more on messing with its residents then actually maintaining the roads and infrastructure of this park.Previous Review : Lived here for 2 months now. If you keep to yourself and mind your own business the price and location are definitely worth it. Homes are being remodeled or removed for newer places. I really enjoy this park.
