Sun Retreats Dennis Port Introduce
Looking for "rv parks near me" on Cape Cod? Consider Sun Retreats Dennis Port, located at 184 Old Wharf Rd, Dennis Port, MA 02639, USA. You can reach them at (508) 398-2811 or their mobile number +1 508-398-2811 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer feedback, Sun Retreats Dennis Port presents a unique camping experience with both positives and areas for potential improvement.
For local users searching for "rv parks near me," Sun Retreats Dennis Port offers a location in the popular vacation destination of Cape Cod. One reviewer noted a "very eclectic, long-time stay vibe" with a mix of mobile homes, many situated closely together. This suggests a community atmosphere with a significant number of seasonal or long-term residents, which might influence the overall ambiance of the park for transient visitors.
In terms of the environment and features, the transient RV spots were described as "wide enough and easy enough to access" but located "far from entrance/beach." This indicates that while the sites themselves are practical for RVs, their positioning within the park might require a bit of a walk to reach key areas like the entrance or the private beach mentioned by the reviewer. The park boasts a "private beach," which is a significant draw for many visitors to Cape Cod, offering convenient access to the coastline.
The facilities at Sun Retreats Dennis Port include "not many bathhouses but modern and clean." This suggests that while the number of bathhouses might be limited, their quality in terms of cleanliness and modernity is appreciated. Each well-cared-for site includes a "good size concrete pad," along with a picnic table and a grill, providing essential amenities for outdoor living and dining.
Beyond the immediate RV sites, the park offers opportunities for recreation and exploration. The reviewer mentioned an "easy walk to a private beach" and "good biking to see the area," suggesting that guests can easily access the shoreline and explore the local surroundings by bicycle. Additionally, there is a "playground" and "some other play/amenities at campground," making it potentially suitable for families with children.
However, another significant piece of feedback concerns the reservation system and availability for transient sites. One long-time potential guest expressed frustration with the difficulty of booking, stating that the reservation schedule is often unclear, and by the time it opens, the park is usually fully booked. They noted that Sun Retreats Dennis Port has "only 4 transient sites out of over 200" and charges "top dollar" for them. This limited number of transient sites contributes to the difficulty in securing a reservation, particularly during peak seasons like June, July, and August, for which the reviewer indicated "literally no availability except for very scattered dates!"
The same reviewer suggested that for the few transient sites available, a minimum reservation length of 6 or 7 days should be required, as "no one wants to set up for 2 nights only." This perspective highlights a potential mismatch between the park's policies and the preferences of some RV travelers looking for shorter stays.
For local users considering Sun Retreats Dennis Port as one of the "rv parks near me," it's crucial to be aware of the limited number of transient sites and the potential challenges in securing a reservation, especially during popular times of the year. If you are planning a shorter stay, availability might be particularly scarce.
On the positive side, if you do manage to secure a spot, you can expect a well-maintained site with essential amenities, access to a private beach, and opportunities for biking and enjoying the local area. The presence of a playground also makes it a consideration for families. However, the "long-time stay vibe" and the proximity of many mobile homes might create a different atmosphere compared to a park primarily dedicated to transient RVers.
In summary, Sun Retreats Dennis Port offers a Cape Cod experience with access to a private beach and well-equipped RV sites. However, local users searching for "rv parks near me" should be prepared for potential difficulties in booking a transient site due to their limited number and high demand. If you are looking for a longer stay or are flexible with your dates, it might be worth contacting them to inquire about availability. The park seems to cater more towards seasonal residents, which could influence the overall feel for short-term visitors.
For those interested in staying at Sun Retreats Dennis Port, it is highly recommended to contact them directly at (508) 398-2811 or +1 508-398-2811 to inquire about the current reservation policies, availability for transient RV sites, and any promotional offers that might be available. Understanding their current booking procedures will be key to planning your visit to this Cape Cod RV park.

Sun Retreats Dennis Port Reviews
This resort needs to change it's reservation system and scheduling practices. I have been attempting to reserve here for several years. They never know when the reservation schedule is or will open and by the time they do and you call, they are completely sold out or booked. They only have 4 transient sites out of over 200 and charging top dollar. They are making money hand over fist! Getting a seasonal site is impossible as well. For the 4 transient sites, they should require 7/6 days reservations Only. No one wants to set up for 2 nights only. They literally have no availability for June, July or August except for very scattered dates! Sincerely, Sun Retreats, improve your reservation system. I would do several weeks at a time if available. Very Unfortunate.

Transient spots were wide enough and easy enough to access but far from entrance/beach. Not many bathhouses but modern and clean. Good size concrete pad in well cared for site with picnic table and grill. An easy walk to a private beach and good biking to see the area, go to public parks for tennis or walking. Playground and some other play/amenities at campground.
Jun 26, 2023 · Heather ScanlonMy wife had been coming here for 25 years and myself for 13. They no longer have transient sites and made all of them seasonal unless you want to rent one of their homes. End of a multi family tradition for us.Response: We will not consider any of your other campgrounds. You literally made all 3 of them near or on Cape Cod "Retreats". So no transients at all.....
Sep 06, 2023 · Jason PereiraWe have been RVer's since 1998, my dad booked a cottage here since we decided not to take the RV. We were skeptical. Sun Retreats blew away all of our expectations. The cottage was immaculate and felt almost not at a cottage at a campground, but as if we were staying in a home. The mattress was more comfortable than at most hotels, clearly a foam mattress. They included almost any amenity that you could think of. There are a lot of seasonal people here, and everyone takes obvious pride in their site, the landscaping was beautiful. I would also like to give a big shout out to Mike from maintenance, he was replacing a light on the unit across from us, and he helped us with the HVAC, in synching our units so they worked right, and we had heat - and was just the nicest guy. We were here for a wedding, and I don't know when we may return, but I cannot recommend this place enough. The only thing I can recommend, is putting in a pool for the hotter weather, also they are right next to an awesome restaurant/bar - the Sailing Cow!
Jun 06, 2023 · Jon PowellThis is a lovely place! Friendly staff and locals. We had a wonderful experience here. We had space D2 and it was right next to everything we needed or wanted. Loved the snack shack. We got breakfast sandwiches and ice cream. Loved being a hop skip and jump away from the beach. Just grab a towel and go back and forth so easily. The little store is great for a souvenir or if you’re like me and you forgot a bunch of things. Great prices too. Comfort stations are also very clean! I would definitely visit again. Wish we could have stayed longer!
