USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for a tranquil and budget-friendly RV park in the Cape Cod area? If you've been browsing platforms under the category "RV parks near me," the USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park, located at 5204 Ent St, Buzzards Bay, MA 02542, offers a unique camping experience. While it's associated with the US Coast Guard Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program, it appears to welcome a broader range of visitors seeking a quieter alternative to more bustling commercial campgrounds. Let's delve into what this RV park offers based on available information and customer reviews.
The environment at USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park is consistently described as small, quiet, and peaceful. This suggests a more laid-back atmosphere compared to larger, amenity-filled resorts. Situated in Buzzards Bay, it likely benefits from the natural beauty of the Cape Cod region, although specific details about immediate surroundings (like waterfront access or wooded areas directly at the sites) are limited. However, one reviewer mentions "beautiful nature surrounding every side," indicating an appealing natural setting in the broader context of the location. The park seems to prioritize tranquility and a low-traffic environment, making it an attractive option for those seeking respite from crowded campgrounds. While one review noted the grass being "kind of long," the overall impression is of a serene and calm setting, ideal for relaxation.
In terms of services, the USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park offers essential hookups for RVs. Each of the five sites is a long pull-thru, providing convenience for RVs of various sizes. These sites are equipped with water, electric, and sewer connections, which are fundamental for a comfortable RV stay. The sites are also reported to be "pretty level," a significant advantage for easy setup and operation of RV systems. However, some minor inconveniences have been noted by reviewers. One mentioned that the sewer connections are "6 inches high," potentially making it difficult to dump waste depending on an RV's configuration. Another pointed out that some water valves are short, making hose attachment challenging, especially when using a pressure regulator. Despite these minor drawbacks, the availability of full hookups (water, electric, sewer) is a significant service provided. A dumpster is available for waste disposal, although it is noted to be "pretty far away" from the sites. The staff is mentioned as being "friendly," contributing to a positive overall experience.
The features of USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park are somewhat unique due to its MWR affiliation. While the park itself is described as "no frills" with only five sites, its location within the USCG base provides potential access to other MWR facilities. One reviewer highlighted the availability of a "very well stocked commissary and exchange," as well as amenities like "swimming, bowling alley, movie theater," although it's not explicitly stated that these are directly within the RV park or if access is guaranteed for all RV park guests. This suggests a potential added value for those eligible to use MWR facilities. The primary features of the RV park itself are the long, level, full hookup sites and the peaceful environment. For those prioritizing functionality and tranquility over extensive on-site amenities, this park seems well-suited. The affordability is also a significant feature, with one reviewer mentioning a rate of "$25/night," which is notably lower than many commercial RV parks in the Cape Cod region. The pull-thru sites are also a valuable feature, accommodating larger RVs and simplifying the parking process.
Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not explicitly mention any ongoing discounts or special offers. However, the consistently cited price of $25 per night appears to be a significant value, especially considering the location in the often expensive Cape Cod area and the provision of full hookups. This affordable rate could be considered a continuous promotional aspect, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. Given its MWR association, it's possible that certain eligibility requirements might apply for accessing the park or the aforementioned base amenities. Local users who are military personnel, veterans, or affiliated with the Coast Guard should inquire about potential priority booking or specific rates applicable to them. For all other interested parties, confirming the current nightly rate and any potential restrictions or requirements for staying at the park is essential. The phone numbers provided, (508) 968-6461 and +1 508-968-6461, are the direct points of contact to inquire about availability, rates, and any specific policies.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Buzzards Bay and broader Cape Cod region, the USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park offers a small, quiet, and affordable option with full hookup sites. While it may lack the extensive amenities of some commercial parks, its peaceful environment, long pull-thru sites, and notably low nightly rate make it appealing for those prioritizing tranquility and basic necessities. The potential access to USCG base facilities (commissary, exchange, recreation) could be an added bonus for eligible individuals. However, it's important to be aware of the minor inconveniences regarding sewer and water connections as mentioned in reviews. To obtain the most current information on availability, rates, eligibility, and any specific policies, contacting the park directly at (508) 968-6461 or +1 508-968-6461 is highly recommended. If you value a serene setting and a budget-friendly base for exploring Cape Cod, the USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park is worth considering.

USCG Cape Cod MWR RV Park Reviews
Small, quiet, no frills sites.5 sites, very long pull thru sites with water, electric and sewer. These are pretty level. The sewer connections are 6 inches high making it difficult to dump. Some of the water valves are so short, the hose is difficult to attach, especially if you use a pressure regulator. The dumpster is pretty far away, which can be a good thing. Grass is kind of long, not sure how often they mow, but it’s so quiet and peaceful. Very little traffic. The staff is friendly.I would definitely stay again.
Jul 16, 2024 · Inspired2RVJohn, “ just an open field ... laughable”? Really? Depends on what you’re looking for. Some of us prefer exactly what this place offers. Not everyone needs 24/7 entertainment. If you’re looking for 50amp FH, extremely spacious sites, beautiful nature surrounding every side, peace and tranquility, very well stocked commissary and exchange, swimming, bowling alley, movie theater and perfect distance to Cape Cod fun ... I highly recommend this place. And all for $25/night. However, if you need a campground to provide more entertainment than the above and wall-to-wall campers ... then maybe this place isn’t for you.
Aug 18, 2018 · KellyIt is an open field which we loved!! However, it was nicely mowed and there were picnic tables available. We were there to see Cape Cod and it's right there close to everything. Laundry is free at the lodging office and they provide a key for your convenience, fantastic! They also provide a binder with all the information about the local area. It was very helpful. They only have five sites but are planning on 10 more in the next year and they have room for it. I don't care about amenities I was there to see Cape Cod and the famcamp is nice and quiet. We will sooo go there again. I've stayed at other nicer famcamps but I've never given them more than a 3 or 4 star rating. For $25 a night I will stay here again and again! LOVED Cape Cod!!!!
Nov 07, 2018 · jill caddellHonestly, it wouldn’t be that bad if it weren’t for the complete lack of bathrooms and showers. And you can’t have fires. I get that this is what some people like, but an overgrown, open field with an electric hookup really isn’t a camp ground.
May 26, 2023 · Beth FrazziniVery nice quiet. Wide open sites. Only 5 sites but great.
