Sun Retreats Dunedin Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Dunedin, Florida area, Sun Retreats Dunedin is located at 2920 US-19 ALT, Dunedin, FL 34698, USA. They can be contacted by phone at (727) 784-3719 or their mobile number, +1 727-784-3719. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the RV park based on recent customer reviews available online.
Several recent reviews paint a concerning picture of the current conditions and management of Sun Retreats Dunedin. One recurring theme is dissatisfaction with recent changes and maintenance issues. A reviewer mentioned a significant rent increase of $72, coupled with the installation of new card-only washers and dryers that are more expensive to use, with costs ranging from $0.50 to $1.25 more than previous machines. This suggests a potential increase in the cost of living for residents without a corresponding improvement in services or facilities.
Furthermore, the physical condition of the park appears to be a significant concern for some residents. One reviewer noted that "there is still stucco peeling off of the buildings," indicating a lack of attention to basic maintenance and the deteriorating appearance of the property. This could be a concern for local users who value well-maintained surroundings in their living environment.
Cleanliness and sanitation of the communal facilities are also major points of criticism. Multiple reviewers reported severe issues with the bathrooms, describing them as smelling "like sewage" to the extent that they are unusable without gagging. This raises serious concerns about hygiene and the comfort of residents who rely on these facilities. Such conditions could significantly impact the quality of life for those staying at Sun Retreats Dunedin.
The upkeep of the grounds also appears to be problematic, with one reviewer stating that "the landscape crew is awful." Poor landscaping can detract from the overall aesthetic appeal of the park and may also indicate a general lack of attention to the maintenance of the property.
Customer service and communication from the management also seem to be areas of concern. One reviewer described the "lead maintenance tech" as having the "customer service skills and communication skills of a wet blanket," suggesting difficulties in resolving maintenance issues or communicating effectively with park staff. This could lead to frustration for residents needing assistance or information.
Even the park's signage is reportedly in disrepair, with "the light up sign at the front" being out and not illuminated. This might not directly impact the living conditions but could create a negative first impression for potential new tenants and reflects a general lack of attention to detail.
Security and the management's approach to it are also questioned in the reviews. While the bathrooms reportedly have coded doors, management allegedly refuses to use them, citing "issues in the past." This decision is criticized by a reviewer who claims to have personally witnessed "transients sleeping in and using our facilities that we spend good money on" and even reported seeing "drug paraphernalia in the bathrooms." These are serious allegations that raise significant safety and security concerns for residents.
Despite these numerous negative comments, one reviewer conceded that "the only benefit of the property is the location." Dunedin is a charming coastal town in Pinellas County known for its Scottish heritage, vibrant downtown area, and proximity to beautiful beaches and natural parks. The location along US-19 ALT offers convenient access to local amenities, shopping, dining, and attractions. For local users prioritizing location above all else, this might be a consideration, but the significant issues raised in the reviews need to be weighed against this benefit.
Finally, one review mentions a situation arising from a storm, where power was turned off, and tenants were reportedly told that the replacement of power boxes could take up to a month. The reviewer suggests that such a prolonged power outage is unacceptable and could lead to the town deeming the property uninhabitable. This indicates potential infrastructure issues and a slow response to essential repairs, further impacting the living conditions of residents.
Based on these recent customer reviews, the environment at Sun Retreats Dunedin appears to be facing significant challenges related to maintenance, cleanliness, and security. The peeling stucco, sewage smells in the bathrooms, and poorly maintained landscaping suggest a decline in the physical condition of the park. The reported presence of transients and drug paraphernalia raises serious safety concerns. While the location in Dunedin is acknowledged as a benefit, the negative aspects seem to outweigh this for many reviewers.
Information regarding the specific services offered by Sun Retreats Dunedin is somewhat limited in these reviews, but we can infer some. Laundry facilities are available, albeit with increased costs and a card-only payment system. Essential utilities like electricity are provided, but the reported issues with power outages and the slow pace of repairs are concerning. The availability of water and sewer hookups, typically standard in RV parks, is not explicitly mentioned but can be assumed. However, the usability of communal bathrooms is severely questioned due to cleanliness issues.
The features of Sun Retreats Dunedin that can be gleaned from the reviews are also limited and mostly negative. There are buildings with stucco that is peeling, indicating a lack of maintenance. Laundry facilities are present but have become more expensive. Bathrooms are available but reported to be unsanitary. A light-up sign at the entrance is non-functional. The presence of coded doors on the bathrooms suggests a feature intended for security that is reportedly not being utilized effectively. Other typical RV park features, such as a pool, clubhouse, or recreational areas, are not mentioned in these reviews, either positively or negatively.
No promotional information is available in the provided reviews. Given the numerous negative comments regarding the current state of the park, it is unlikely that there are active promotions being highlighted by residents. Local users interested in potential discounts or special offers would need to contact Sun Retreats Dunedin directly, but it would be prudent to also inquire about the issues raised in these reviews.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Dunedin, Florida, Sun Retreats Dunedin's location might be appealing. However, the recent customer reviews raise significant concerns about rent increases, the physical condition of the park (including peeling stucco and poorly maintained landscaping), severe cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, ineffective management, and security problems. The reported presence of transients and drug paraphernalia, along with prolonged power outages and slow repairs, paint a concerning picture of the living environment. While the location is cited as a benefit, prospective residents should carefully weigh this against the numerous negative aspects highlighted in these reviews and conduct thorough due diligence before considering Sun Retreats Dunedin.

Sep 16, 2024 · Steven CurryThe storm has created a situation where they turned off power again and your tenants are suffering because of the fact the power boxes have to be replaced. They were told upto a month that is unacceptable. If they go to the town they will team it uninhabitable and force you to act now. Let's get this fixed before your good name is tarnished.
Oct 02, 2024 · William DeanAbsolutely horrendous site, wifi terrible, Pull thru spots terrible, sewage pipes older wont even fit a gasket. Thee worst campground I have ever been to. Customer service absolutely blows kevin, terry, all of them need a refresher course on how to treat guests. Overpriced garbage of a site. Offered me a refund in full. Minutes after being here. Obviously id need to find somewhere else to park if i accepted the refund. I will never bring my family here again! Worst part of all im a floridian been here myWhole life. Love the dunedin area. This put a very sour taste in my mouth. In reponse to your reply:Didnt address sewage issue, At night all you can smell is everyones sewer gasses. Not a pleasant smell, To think that this is considered a premier pull thru spot is laughable. I pay 612 dollars for a week. I am definitely not proud of the purchase. Your pictures online do not match the sites you have in your pull through area. I couldve went to key lime bay which is a more elite and nice presentable location for the same price i paid here. You had 6 spots open at my time of arrival we have kids we couldve been relocated to anyone of those spots. So that was an excuse, and laziness on your employees behalf to not want to commit to the footwork and you were misinformed. I didnt want my kids running in the busy street next to our spot. Your staff applied zero effort in trying to resolute the issue. Other than a full refund. They scanned for 1 minute and just said it was too much shuffling around so apparently my families safety isnt a priority, versus the older couples whom have no kids you parked in those spots that were open, spot number 7,8,15,16 were all open spots i could've relocated to be off of the main road. But did your employees care absolutely not. That to me is bad customer service. And a lack of being personable.Update: you will say anything to keep a customer including lying. You take the guests money and the guests becomeFriends and talk amongst eachother about the place being a dumpster.
Apr 14, 2024 · Matt KacerWorst experience we have ever had at a RV Resort. The Dunedin area is very nice, it’s a shame this RV resort is so unfriendly and rude. Accommodating to the retirement crowd. You must belong to the crowd if you stay in the first 3 rows. If you are under 65 and do not interact with the snowbirds that stay there, they will make your stay unpleasant. It felt as if we reverted back to high school clicks. Extremely poor management and communication. They let the snowbirds run the resort. Do not waste your money on this resort! I work remotely and it was very noisy during the work day. Live band playing at their camper several times a week, corn hole in the road and a lot of small barking dogs. However, these things were only acceptable if you were part of their click. Disappointing 3 month stay! It has steered us away from all the Sun Resorts in the future. In fact we stayed a week in Panama City Beach and did not book at the Sun RV Resort due to this experience.
