Sherwood Forest RV Resort Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Palm Harbor area of Florida, Sherwood Forest RV Resort, located at 175 US-19 ALT, Palm Harbor, FL 34683, USA, offers a seemingly beautiful and well-located option. You can reach them at (727) 784-4582 or +1 727-784-4582 for inquiries and reservations. However, while some reviewers praise its aesthetics and amenities, others have raised concerns regarding accessibility for individuals with disabilities. It's important to consider both perspectives when evaluating this RV resort for your stay.
The environment of Sherwood Forest RV Resort is described by one guest as "absolutely beautiful," suggesting well-maintained grounds and an appealing aesthetic. The presence of a "lake" adds to the natural beauty and provides opportunities for scenic enjoyment. The park is also characterized as "very quiet and peaceful," which can be a significant draw for RVers seeking a relaxing getaway. This tranquil atmosphere, combined with the natural beauty, suggests a potentially idyllic setting for your stay. While one reviewer noted "not a lot of kids," they also pointed out that the location is "great for families" due to the abundance of nearby attractions, indicating a balance between a peaceful park environment and convenient access to family-friendly activities.
The services at Sherwood Forest RV Resort appear to be well-regarded by some guests. The "ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly," indicating positive interactions with the park staff. The bathroom facilities are highlighted as "exceptional" with "great water pressure and very clean," suggesting a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and comfort. The availability of a "pool" that guests and their children enjoyed further enhances the service offerings for recreation and relaxation. These positive comments suggest that Sherwood Forest RV Resort strives to provide a pleasant and well-serviced experience for its guests.
However, a contrasting review raises significant concerns regarding accessibility. This guest states that the park is "not handicapped friendly" due to "large lips on everything" and electronic gate key card access on every door, which makes opening them difficult with one hand. The accessibility to the bathroom in the clubhouse is described as "impossible for a walker or wheelchair." Furthermore, the only designated handicapped bathroom reportedly experienced issues with no air conditioning one day and no hot water the next. These serious accessibility concerns are critical for potential guests with mobility challenges and suggest that Sherwood Forest RV Resort may not adequately cater to their needs.
The features of Sherwood Forest RV Resort include a "very nice" pool that is enjoyed by guests, particularly families with children. The presence of a "beautiful lake" adds a scenic element to the park and may offer opportunities for leisurely activities. The location is a significant feature, being "right near Clearwater beach and Pinellas trail," providing easy access to popular tourist destinations and recreational trails. This prime location allows guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Clearwater Beach and the extensive Pinellas Trail for biking and walking. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere within the park itself can also be considered a desirable feature for those seeking relaxation.
However, the reported lack of handicapped accessibility is a major negative feature for a significant portion of potential guests. The "large lips" and difficult-to-open doors pose physical barriers, while the inaccessible clubhouse bathroom and the unreliable handicapped bathroom further limit usability for those with mobility issues. The additional comment that the "park looking very run down" by the same reviewer who noted the accessibility issues suggests potential maintenance concerns that could impact the overall quality of the facilities and the environment, contradicting the "absolutely beautiful" description from another guest.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific discounts, special offers, or promotions for Sherwood Forest RV Resort. Potential guests are advised to contact the park directly to inquire about seasonal rates, extended stay discounts, or any other promotions that might be available. Given the positive feedback regarding the beauty and location, the park may be a popular choice, especially during peak seasons, so it's recommended to inquire about availability and any potential cost-saving opportunities.
In conclusion, Sherwood Forest RV Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida, presents a mixed picture for those searching for "RV parks near me." On one hand, it is praised for its beautiful and peaceful environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, nice pool, and convenient location near Clearwater Beach and the Pinellas Trail, making it potentially ideal for families and those seeking recreation. On the other hand, significant concerns have been raised regarding its lack of handicapped accessibility, with reports of physical barriers and unreliable facilities for those with mobility challenges. Additionally, one reviewer noted the park looking "very run down," which contrasts with the "absolutely beautiful" description. Potential guests, particularly those with accessibility needs, should carefully consider these conflicting reports and ideally contact the park directly to assess the current conditions and accessibility features before making a reservation. It would be prudent to inquire about any recent improvements or accommodations made to address the reported accessibility issues and the overall maintenance of the park to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Absolutely beautiful RV park! We stayed for a month with our kids and dog and they were amazing. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were exceptional! Great water pressure and very clean. The pool was very nice and our kids loved it. The lake is beautiful and we had a wonderful time. Very quiet and peaceful. I recommend it for sure. Not a lot of kids but it’s in a great location for families. Tons of stuff around to do. Right near Clearwater beach and Pinellas trail. Visit Sherwood RV park if you’re in Palm Harbor!! Thanks for a great time!!

Sep 06, 2024 · Barbara FeeYou should come stay here! I love Sherwood Forest because there is a heated pool, and there is a big bike trail right next to the park. There are really nice people that are in the park. I live here because it's a great location. I can bike to the grocery stores. I have celebrated my birthday and cooked dinner for the other people that live here. You should bring your family and have much fun!
Nov 26, 2024 · E McDanielGreat RV Park! Nice spaces and very clean. Pet friendly and a well taken care of play area for the pups. Mostly quiet, but we were there during July 4th, so there were a lot of fireworks all around us. The lady in the office when we checked in was friendly and very kind. We would definitely recommend!
Jul 10, 2022 · Jana HutchingsWe have lived here for 3.5 it is an amazing park a lot of fun activates in the winter walking distance to stores and a walking distance viewing point of the ocean there is a nice heated pool and a pond. My son has had 3 birthday parties here one year they fished in the pond and caught a catfish. There is Wi-Fi in the club house and the office managers are super nice and help full. I recement it for families.
