Jellystone Park™ South Jersey Introduce
For our users in US who are searching within the "camping near me" category for an ideal family getaway, let us introduce you to Jellystone Park™ South Jersey, located at 117 Coles Mill Rd, Williamstown, New Jersey, USA. Based on enthusiastic reviews from families who have visited, this campground offers a wealth of activities and amenities designed to create a fun and memorable experience for both children and adults. Its proximity to Philadelphia also makes it a convenient option for those seeking a vacation that isn't too far from urban centers while still providing a distinct sense of escape.
Jellystone Park™ South Jersey has a history of being a beloved family destination, having been known as Hospitality Creek before becoming a Jellystone Park. This transition seems to have further enhanced its appeal as a family-oriented campground. One long-time visitor expressed their continued love for the park, highlighting its convenient location – close enough to home to avoid extensive travel but far enough to feel like a true vacation. This balance of accessibility and escape is a key draw for many families looking for "camping near me" that offers a genuine break from routine.
The environment of Jellystone Park™ South Jersey appears to be well-maintained and thoughtfully laid out. One reviewer noted that their campsite by the water was particularly nice, with trees providing separation between sites, offering a degree of privacy. The presence of water features, such as the lake mentioned by a reviewer, adds to the scenic beauty and provides opportunities for potential water-based activities, although these are not detailed extensively in the provided feedback. The overall impression is of a campground that values the aesthetic appeal of its natural surroundings.
However, one visitor did mention an "abundance of goose shit everywhere," which made playing on grassy areas less enjoyable. While they acknowledged that encountering animals is part of the camping experience, they felt the goose droppings were excessive in some areas. It's important to note that this observation was specific to certain grassy areas and not their individual campsite, which they found clean. This suggests that while the campground strives to maintain cleanliness, the presence of wildlife can sometimes pose challenges.
In terms of services and amenities, Jellystone Park™ South Jersey seems to excel in providing for the needs and entertainment of its guests. The bathhouses are consistently praised for being "always clean and stocked," which is a crucial factor for a comfortable camping experience, especially for families. The laundry building is also well-equipped, offering everything needed to manage laundry during a trip, a significant convenience for longer stays.
A major highlight of Jellystone Park™ South Jersey is the extensive range of recreational activities available, particularly for children. The reviews mention swimming pools, a lake, playgrounds, various activities (including those during Easter weekend, where the staff was noted as very nice), and bounce areas. This abundance of options ensures that children of all ages can stay entertained and engaged throughout their stay, allowing parents to relax knowing their kids have plenty to do. For families searching for "camping near me" with a focus on keeping children happy and active, this campground appears to be an excellent choice.
For those seeking alternative accommodations to traditional camping, Jellystone Park™ South Jersey offers cabins that are described as "gorgeous." One reviewer mentioned plans to rent a cabin in the future, indicating their high regard for this option. Cabin rentals can provide a more comfortable and convenient stay, especially for families who prefer not to tent camp or who are looking for a more luxurious experience.
Another popular amenity at the campground is the availability of golf carts for rent. One reviewer initially didn't realize how convenient these could be but now considers them indispensable. Golf carts can make it much easier to navigate the campground, especially for families with young children or when transporting gear. This added convenience can significantly enhance the overall experience of staying at a larger campground.
The staff at Jellystone Park™ South Jersey are consistently described as "very nice" and "more than friendly and helpful." Positive interactions with campground staff can greatly contribute to a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, making guests feel valued and well-cared for. This aspect of customer service seems to be a strong point for this Jellystone Park location.
While the overall experience is highly positive, one reviewer did mention that they "wouldn't be upset if the prices came down just a little," acknowledging that the cost might be a consideration for some. However, they also conceded that the pricing likely reflects the quality of the facilities and the beautiful environment. This suggests that while the campground might be on the higher end of the price spectrum, the value derived from the amenities and the overall experience is generally considered worthwhile.
For our users in US exploring "camping near me" and considering a destination like Jellystone Park™ South Jersey, it's important to recognize the emphasis on family-friendly activities and well-maintained facilities. The potential issue with goose droppings in grassy areas is something to be aware of, but it seems to be localized and not a problem at individual campsites. The availability of various accommodation options (campsites and cabins), the abundance of recreational activities for children, and the positive feedback regarding staff and cleanliness make this campground a strong contender for families seeking a fun and convenient getaway in the South Jersey area.
No specific promotional information, such as seasonal discounts or special packages, is mentioned in the provided reviews. For such details, it would be best to visit the official Jellystone Park™ South Jersey website or contact them directly via phone or email. Jellystone Park™ South Jersey Reviews
The staff was very nice and there were plenty of fun activities for the kids Easter weekend. The site was very nice and had trees to separate each site by the water. However, there was an abundance of goose shit everywhere, making playing on grassy areas gross 😝. When we camp, we know there will be bugs and animals living in area with us, but I felt like I was camping in a goose kennel, no goose poop at our site, which was nice. Very family friendly and close to philly.
Apr 21, 2025 · MichaelWe absolutely love this campground. We've been going to Jellystone even before it was Jellystone (Hospitality Creek) and love how family oriented it is. It's close enough to home where we're not spending a full day traveling, but far enough that it feels like a vacation. We have our favorite campsites and love the privacy and size of them. The bath houses are always clean and stocked and the laundry building offers everything you need to keep up on all that laundry. The pools, lake, playgrounds, activities, and bounce areas offer plenty of things to keep the kids busy. The cabins are gorgeous and we plan to rent one of them soon as well. The golf carts are available to rent and we never realized how convenient they are. Now we can't not get one. We can't wait until they open for the season next month and already have our first trip reserved. All in all, its a very well maintained campground that offers plenty to do. I wouldn't be upset if the prices came down just a little...but I guess that's the price you pay for a beautiful place to stay.
Mar 14, 2025 · Christine PihsVery beautiful campground, loved the semi private RV sites. Probably my favorite thing about this location. Also, they have a lake with kayaks and canoes free to use anytime you want. Beautiful trail around the lake and a beautiful place to watch the sun setting on the little island.
Nov 19, 2024 · Brigette HardyWe visited the South Jersey campground a week ago. The staff was all very welcoming and kind. The kids enjoyed how friendly the bears were and the fun activities there were to do. The weekend we were there, a young girl I think her name was Alexa, was very nice and knowledgeable in the snack stand and store. My kids overloaded her with questions and she guided them in the right direction while being polite and personable. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return next season!!!
Oct 07, 2024 · Harry McDowellAs always, my family had a great time at Jellystone! All the guests did an awesome job decorating their campsites and passing out candy and more to trick-or-treaters. Activities are fun for very young children. The lake is beautiful. I did think that the activities staff could be more enthusiastic and engaging. The magic pumpkin experience lacked magic. The sports activity was just staff putting games out but not teaching children how to play. Many of the arts and crafts activities were just coloring. Staff were frequently talking about what time they would be done. I didn't see an award given out for best golf cart and although the parade was fun, staff could have played music or done something exciting. The bears are always great. The jumping pillow is a lot of fun. The cabins are spotless. Vegan options would be nice to have- at least vegan cheese pizza and vegan got dogs. The rainbow dot ice cream in the vending machine is accidentally vegan which was a nice surprise. More activities geared towards teenagers would be cool- maybe outdoor movies? The creek, critters, and Halloween vibes make Jellystone totally worth the trip!
