Sun Ridge RV Park Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Rhome, Texas area, Sun Ridge RV Park, located at 107 Co Rd 4659, Rhome, TX 76078, USA, presents itself as an option with some positive aspects alongside potential drawbacks that local users should consider. Reviews indicate a very helpful owner and clean laundry facilities, but also highlight concerns regarding power sufficiency, electrical infrastructure, and noise from a nearby train.
One reviewer shared a positive experience, giving a 5-star rating primarily due to the owner's exceptional responsiveness. They recounted an incident where their RV flooded, and the owner promptly arranged for maintenance after hours. The reviewer described the owner, John, as an "awesome person" who is "always helpful" and empathetic, particularly appreciating his support while traveling alone with dogs. They found the dog park to be "ok" during their single visit and noted that the laundry mat was clean. While acknowledging that the park is quiet except for a train at night, this reviewer stated that the train noise did not bother them and recommended others to check out the park, noting that "Most everyone is friendly and helpful."
In contrast, another reviewer provided a 2-star rating, primarily commending the park manager as "a very nice person and very professional." Upon arrival, they were placed in a shaded spot, which they appreciated. However, they immediately encountered issues with the power supply being insufficient for their coach, which was running two air conditioning units and a microwave. The 50-amp breaker repeatedly failed to provide enough power to run these appliances simultaneously. Upon inspecting the service panel, the reviewer, who appears to have electrical expertise, found that it was not up to specification, with incorrect breakers and wire sizes, including braided wire instead of the recommended solid copper wire. The reviewer spent several hours rectifying these issues to bring the panel up to the required standards.
The manager did offer an alternative, unshaded spot, which the reviewer declined as they specifically wanted the shaded location and were willing to pay for it. The power issues were particularly problematic as the reviewer was traveling with two elderly individuals and was concerned about them suffering through the night without adequate cooling. They were only able to run the main AC unit intermittently until they moved the following morning. Adding to their concerns, the reviewer mentioned that a neighbor a few spots down had also experienced multiple power issues, and they discovered that several RVs in the park had service panel problems.
This reviewer concluded that it was "to bad" as they initially liked the park. They also highlighted another significant potential drawback: noise from a nearby train. According to this review, the train passes by and blows its horn 2-3 times a night, which could be disruptive to light sleepers. This is an important environmental factor for potential guests to consider.
Based on these reviews, Sun Ridge RV Park offers a mixed experience. A significant positive is the owner, John, who is described as exceptionally helpful and responsive, going above and beyond for at least one guest. The laundry facilities are also noted as clean, which is a desirable amenity for RV travelers. The park appears to foster a generally friendly atmosphere among most residents.
However, there are serious concerns regarding the electrical infrastructure. The issues reported with insufficient power and non-compliant service panels are significant and could pose problems for RVs with standard power demands, especially those requiring 50-amp service. The fact that multiple RVs reportedly have service panel issues suggests this might be a systemic problem that potential guests should be aware of and potentially inquire about before booking, especially if they have high power needs or are traveling during hot weather requiring air conditioning.
Another environmental factor to consider is the noise from the nearby train, which could be disruptive to sleep, particularly for those who are sensitive to such sounds. While one reviewer was not bothered by it, another specifically mentioned it as a potential issue for those who are light sleepers.
Promotional information is limited. The positive comments about the owner's helpfulness and the clean laundry could be seen as indirect promotional points. The park's location in Rhome, Texas, might offer a quieter, more rural setting compared to larger towns, which could be appealing to some. However, there are no specific discounts, special offers, or unique amenities (beyond the dog park and laundry) mentioned in the reviews.
For local users searching for "RV campgrounds Rhome TX," Sun Ridge RV Park presents a location with a responsive owner and clean laundry. However, potential guests should carefully consider the reported issues with power sufficiency and electrical infrastructure, especially if their RV has significant power requirements. Additionally, the noise from the nearby train is a factor that could impact the quality of their stay. It would be prudent to contact Sun Ridge RV Park directly at (940) 539-2056 or +1 940-539-2056 to inquire about the current status of their electrical systems, the reliability of the power supply, and the proximity and frequency of train traffic before making a reservation. Asking about shaded spots and the capacity of their electrical hookups would also be advisable to ensure a comfortable stay, especially during warmer months.
In conclusion, Sun Ridge RV Park in Rhome, Texas, has received mixed reviews. While the owner is highly praised for his helpfulness and the laundry facilities are clean, significant concerns have been raised about power issues and noise from a nearby train. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should weigh these factors carefully and consider contacting the park directly for more information before deciding to stay.

Sun Ridge RV Park Reviews
I have a 5 star because the owner has been super awesome. Rv flooded last evening and he got maintenance right there after hrs. John is a awesome person and always helpful. Being alone with dogs has been much better with his advice and empathy. I have only been to dog park once but was ok. The laundry mat clean. It's quiet except train at night but it doesn't bother me. I would recommend people to come check out park. Most everyone is friendly and helpful.
Oct 24, 2024 · Jackie McCurryThis was probably I'm only giving 2 stars because the park manager is a very nice person and very professional in his doings with us. Once we arrived we were in a spot with allot of shade. We plugged into our service panel and immediately had issues with the power being sufficient enough for our coach. We are running2 A/C units and microwave. And the breaker (50a) is not providing enough amps to hold the units on. I did do an inspection on the service panel and what I found is not what the panel requires. So I spent several hrs to get it to spec, removing the not specified breakers and wire size and removing the braided wire for solid copper wire. This particular panel is telling you to use certain breakers and wires. The manager did offer another location in the park. We declined do to the non shaded spot. We only wanted this one, because of the shaded spot. And we were willing to spend the money for it. All this would of been manageable if I didn't have two seniors with me. I could not let my parents suffer all night without cool air. Finally I was able to kick on the main AC at 3 am and one is what we delt with until moving in the morning. So on top of this issue our naghbor from a few spots down has had many issues with power. And then to find out that there is several RV's that have service panel issues. It's to bad, we liked this park. If you can't sleep because of the train passing by and blowing the horn 2-3 times a night then it's not for you.
Aug 04, 2023 · Daniel VogtGetting eaten up by the roaches on this property,And the nosey neighbors that tell on you for any and everything,Its quite here except for trains constantly going by over the fence,Other than that its too far out here for my liking, And the wifi is the worst than any where I have lived, they need extenders to reach all the property
Sep 10, 2024 · Diane MorelandThis is a good place to live. Wifi washer dryer a place for kids to play and Fair rentAnd never overprices for electric.
Apr 27, 2024 · Sue HoelGood shower but sloped tiles, good laundry but half capacity, good view but poor stinch, good neighbors with next day eviction. Would recommend R.V.O.A.
