Sundance Lakes RV Resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Port Richey, Florida area, Sundance Lakes RV Resort, located at 6848 Hachem Dr, Port Richey, FL 34668, USA, offers a setting with natural features and a community atmosphere. You can contact them at (727) 862-3565 or +1 727-862-3565 to inquire about availability and make reservations.
The environment at Sundance Lakes RV Resort is notable for its beautiful settings, which include three large ponds that enhance the visual appeal and potentially offer opportunities for leisurely walks or wildlife viewing. The presence of these water features contributes to a tranquil atmosphere within the park. Additionally, the resort boasts a swimming pool that one guest described as heated and very well taken care of, providing a recreational option for visitors. The RV lots are reported to be large, offering ample space for setting up and enjoying your stay. It's important to note, however, that the park had experienced major hurricane damage prior to at least one guest's visit in March, and while efforts were underway to remove damaged areas, some amenities like the laundry room and clubhouses were temporarily shut down. This suggests that the environment may still be in a state of recovery and that potential guests should inquire about the current status of all facilities.
The services at Sundance Lakes RV Resort appear to be in a state of flux due to the hurricane damage reported by one guest. During their two-week stay in March, the laundry room and clubhouses were not operational, requiring guests to use off-site laundromats. While this was acknowledged as not a "horrible inconvenience," the lack of prior notification was mentioned. On a positive note, the office staff, specifically Pam and Mark, were described by one reviewer as welcoming and very professional. This indicates a potentially positive initial interaction and helpfulness from at least some members of the staff. However, another review presents a starkly contrasting experience regarding the park manager, Mark, alleging unprofessional behavior, invasion of privacy, and poor communication, particularly during and after a hurricane. This discrepancy in experiences suggests that the quality of management and services might be inconsistent or have changed over time. It is crucial for prospective guests to seek current information regarding the operational status of all amenities and the current management practices.
The features of Sundance Lakes RV Resort include the three large ponds, which contribute significantly to the park's aesthetic and may attract those who enjoy water views. The heated and well-maintained swimming pool is another notable feature, offering a recreational amenity for guests. The large RV lots are a definite advantage, providing more space and comfort compared to some other RV parks. The friendly and welcoming nature of the people, both staff (specifically Pam and Mark, according to one review) and fellow residents, was highlighted as a favorite aspect by one guest, suggesting a strong sense of community. However, the negative review mentioned subpar maintenance, specifically regarding the dog park (infrequent mowing, presence of poisonous mushrooms) and careless lawn care resulting in property damage. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the upkeep of certain features within the park. The contrasting experiences reported by guests highlight the importance of obtaining current and comprehensive information about the features and their condition before booking a stay.
When considering Sundance Lakes RV Resort in your search for "RV parks near me," it's essential to weigh the positive aspects, such as the beautiful setting with lakes and a pool, the large RV lots, and the potential for a welcoming community, against the reported negative experiences, particularly concerning management and maintenance. The fact that one guest intended to return suggests a positive overall experience despite the temporary inconvenience of closed amenities. However, the other review raises serious concerns about unprofessional behavior and inadequate park upkeep. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that potential guests seek recent and multiple perspectives on the current state of the resort before making a decision.
Promotional information for Sundance Lakes RV Resort was not included in the provided reviews. It is advisable to contact the park directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current specials, discounts for extended stays, or seasonal rates that may be available. Given the reports of hurricane damage and subsequent recovery, there might be specific offers related to the availability of certain amenities or the condition of the park. It would also be prudent to ask about their policies regarding cancellations or refunds, especially in light of the reported issues with communication and service during and after the hurricane.
The location of Sundance Lakes RV Resort in Port Richey, Florida, offers proximity to the Gulf Coast and various attractions in the Tampa Bay area. Port Richey itself has local amenities, including restaurants, shops, and access to waterways. The surrounding region offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and exploring natural parks and preserves. The appeal of the location would depend on individual preferences for coastal activities versus inland attractions. Potential guests might want to research the local area to ensure it meets their interests and needs during their stay.
The contrasting reviews provide a mixed picture of the management and overall experience at Sundance Lakes RV Resort. While one guest praised specific staff members and the welcoming community, another reported significant issues with the park manager and maintenance. This inconsistency underscores the importance of seeking current feedback from recent guests and directly communicating with the park management to get a clear understanding of the current conditions and service levels. It might also be helpful to inquire about any changes in management or improvements made since the negative review was posted.
In conclusion, Sundance Lakes RV Resort in Port Richey, FL, offers a potentially attractive environment with lakes, a pool, and large RV lots. While one guest reported a positive experience with friendly staff and a welcoming community despite temporary amenity closures due to hurricane damage, another guest described significant negative experiences with the park manager and maintenance. Therefore, when considering this resort in your search for "RV parks near me," it is crucial to conduct thorough and up-to-date research and directly contact the park for the most current information on amenities, services, management, and any available promotions to ensure it meets your expectations.

Sundance Lakes RV Resort Reviews
We arrived at Sundance RV on March 19th, for a 2 week stay. Park had suffered major hurricane damage but the park was doing it's best to remove the damaged places. We got there and paid, then found out the laundry room and club houses were shut down. We had to use a laundry mat. Not a horrible inconvenience, just would have been nice to know prior to booking. Rv lots are large, beautiful settings with 3 large ponds, swimming pool was heated and very well taken care of. Our favorite were the people, amazing and so welcoming. The office staff especially Pam and Mark were welcoming and very professional. Seems to be a lot of tension between the staff but didn't deter our stay. We will be back. Thanks for the great 2 weeks.
Apr 10, 2025 · Cheryl WebbStay somewhere else! During my stay, Mark, the park manager, invaded our privacy and attempted to terminate our lease prematurely, disregarding park rules that stipulated we had more than 6 months before our lease would end. Mark and several male staff members displayed unprofessional behavior towards me, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. The park's maintenance was subpar, with the dog park, a frequently used amenity, being mowed about every two weeks and mushrooms poisonous to dogs growing. Their careless lawn mowing and weed whacking resulted in damage to our property, including holes in our hoses, causing fecal matter to spray when emptying the black tank. The unprofessionalism was exacerbated during the hurricane, with Mark displaying a lack of communication, then ultimately ceasing all communication and going on a cruise displaying no concern for the park nor its guests. Guests were still required to pay rent despite being without power for months. The park's infrastructure is also a concern, with electrical issues and frequent water issues, including unannounced water shut-offs. If you would love to stay with an unprofessional and childish park manager that belittles his guests and throws hissy fits like a teenage boy, this is the place for you!
May 06, 2025 · Haley SutherbyCame to this RV park in April.Hooked up our camper electricity to the pole. It was in the 90's. Our air kept going on & off. It eventually burned out our A/C compressor due to lack of voltage! Called out a repair man...suggested we move our camper to another site/grid to try out our NEW air conditioner, because the section we were in..wouldn't supply enough voltage for our NEW AC unit to work! And yep...we moved our camper to another site, and our AC worked with zero issues! The wires underground, at the old site, was probably oxidized from the flood they had there!!!Management was TERRIBLE to work with!! VERY RUDE!!! They did not want to accept ANY blame on their park!!!!Sooo...a couple thousand dollars later ( new A/C...And 3 nights in a hotel) due to the weather being in the 90's & no air in our unit....I'M WARNING YOU NOW!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RV PARK & The VERY RUDE MANAGEMENT!!!!!
Apr 28, 2025 · DianeThis is a RV Resort. They have ripped us out of $250.00 deposit. They canceled our reservation, and will not return our money. They want to turn it over for a future stayWe are old and will not be traveling so we still can't get our money back.So be aware before making a reservation.
Mar 13, 2025 · Janet ArnoldI just know when they had no electric after the storm and electric co. came to turn it on there were updates that had to before they could get turned back on. They went a few months without electricity and were charged for rent anyway. They are trying to rebuild and have to wait on the RV park to upgrade the electric and cant really live there because the owners didn't do upgrades and couldn't get electric turned on for a few months, these people could live there and still got charged for rent. Unbelievable!
