SUNNY SKIES RV PARK Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Abilene, Texas area, Sunny Skies RV Park, located at 343 PR 237 Box A, Abilene, TX 79601, USA, appears to be a long-term residential option with a focus on affordability. Based on the available customer reviews, potential residents should be aware of both the positive and negative aspects highlighted by those who have experience with this park.
One reviewer mentioned a significant negative experience involving "criminal activity" and a trailer being broken into. This serious security concern led the reviewer to state that they "MOVED to protect other trailer park residents." This is a critical piece of information that potential residents should consider, as it raises questions about the safety and security measures in place at Sunny Skies RV Park. While this is a single report, it is a serious allegation that warrants careful consideration.
On a more positive note, the same reviewer also stated that there is a "Great owner of the facility." This suggests that while there may be issues within the park, the owner is perceived as being good to deal with. This positive aspect of the management could be a mitigating factor for some, indicating that the owner may be responsive to concerns and trying to maintain a positive environment despite the challenges.
Another reviewer provided a more detailed account of their experience, noting that Sunny Skies RV Park is for "Long term only." This is a crucial piece of information for local users searching for "RV parks near me" for short-term stays or overnight stops; Sunny Skies RV Park may not cater to these needs. The long-term nature of the park suggests a more permanent community of residents.
This long-term resident also described some of the unique features of the park's layout. Some spots are located "under a long 3 sided pole barn, separated by a wooden privacy fence between each camper." This could offer some degree of shade and a sense of individual space between residents. However, the reviewer also raised a significant concern related to pets, stating that they are "allowed to pee on wooden privacy fences for years," resulting in a persistent "Smells!" issue. While the owner has reportedly "tried to remedy" this, the attempts were described as "not effective." This potential odor problem, particularly in covered or semi-enclosed spots, could be a major drawback for sensitive individuals.
Despite the odor issue in some areas, the reviewer indicated a willingness to "stay again" but with a preference for an "outside spot," presumably to avoid the smell associated with the covered areas and pet activity on the fences. This suggests that the experience within the park can vary significantly depending on the location of the RV site.
The same long-term resident also mentioned issues with noise from "Workers with loud trucks who zoom in and out starting early morning." The absence of "‘SLOW’ signs" apparently exacerbates this problem. Early morning noise can be disruptive, especially for those who prefer a quiet and peaceful environment. This is another factor that potential residents should consider, particularly if they value a tranquil living space.
The reviewer had difficulty assigning a rating, ultimately giving 3 stars, primarily because Sunny Skies RV Park is considered "an economical choice." This highlights that the park's main draw may be its affordability, which, according to the reviewer, "unfortunately that attracts everyone," possibly alluding to the diverse range of residents and the potential for issues that can sometimes arise in more budget-friendly accommodations.
Furthermore, the reviewer explicitly stated that there is "no wifi, no amenities" and described it as "Kind of an adult location only." The lack of Wi-Fi can be a significant inconvenience for many travelers and long-term residents who rely on internet access. The absence of other amenities, which are not specified but could typically include laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, or recreational areas, further suggests a very basic and no-frills living environment. The description as "kind of an adult location only" might imply a lack of family-oriented facilities or a predominantly adult resident base, which could be a consideration for families with children.
Considering the information from these reviews, Sunny Skies RV Park appears to be a long-term, budget-friendly option in Abilene, Texas. The potential advantages might include an economical cost of living and a seemingly responsive owner. However, there are significant drawbacks to consider, including a reported instance of criminal activity, potential odor issues in covered spots due to pets, early morning noise from workers, and a complete lack of Wi-Fi and other amenities. The park seems to cater primarily to adults seeking long-term, affordable accommodation.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Sunny Skies RV Park might be an option if long-term residency and affordability are the top priorities, and if they are willing to potentially forgo amenities and tolerate the reported issues with odor and noise. However, the serious concern regarding criminal activity should not be taken lightly, and potential residents should inquire about current security measures. It would be highly advisable to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers, (325) 668-0868 or +1 325-668-0868, to ask specific questions about security, pet policies, noise levels, and the availability of Wi-Fi or other amenities. A visit to the park to assess the environment firsthand, particularly the covered spots and the general atmosphere, would also be a prudent step before committing to long-term residency at Sunny Skies RV Park.
In conclusion, Sunny Skies RV Park in Abilene, Texas, is presented as an economical, long-term residential option with a seemingly well-regarded owner. However, potential residents must carefully weigh the reported serious security concern, potential odor issues in covered sites, noise disturbances, and the absence of Wi-Fi and other amenities before making a decision. Direct communication with the park management and a personal visit are strongly recommended to gain a comprehensive understanding of the living conditions at Sunny Skies RV Park.
