Sunny South RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Magee, Mississippi area, seeking a campground that offers essential amenities in a potentially peaceful, rural setting? Sunny South RV Park, located at 589 Baldwin Rd, Magee, MS 39111, USA, presents itself as a "nice little campground" with full hookups. Contactable at (601) 900-0366 or +1 601-900-0366, this RV park has received feedback from recent visitors highlighting both its positive attributes and some environmental factors that potential guests should consider.
One reviewer described Sunny South RV Park as a "nice little campground" that provides "all the hookups," indicating that it offers the necessary connections for water, electricity, and sewer for RVs. While this reviewer did not personally inspect the showers, they noted the presence of a laundry facility, which is considered a significant "plus" for many RV travelers, especially those on longer trips. This amenity allows guests to take care of their laundry needs conveniently on-site.
An environmental factor mentioned by this reviewer is the park's proximity to railroad tracks, resulting in the sound of trains passing by. Interestingly, this reviewer did not find the train noise to be unpleasant, suggesting that for some individuals, this might not be a significant issue. However, it is an important piece of information for those particularly sensitive to noise when choosing "RV parks near me."
Another reviewer provided a more detailed account, highlighting several positive aspects of Sunny South RV Park. They noted the "spacious sites," which is a significant advantage for RVers, providing more room for maneuvering and setting up camp, as well as for enjoying outdoor space around their RV. The presence of a "wonderful laundry room" was also praised, reinforcing the positive feedback about this amenity. Additionally, this reviewer mentioned "dark skies," which can be a significant draw for stargazers and those who appreciate a rural environment with minimal light pollution.
This reviewer also initially found the park to be "blissfully quiet." However, they pointed out a potential noise disturbance in the early morning hours, noting that an "industrial factory starts its operations somewhere around 2:30 am." This could be a crucial factor for light sleepers considering a stay at Sunny South RV Park. The reviewer also mentioned the occasional freight train passing nearby with its "whistle blowing," but, like the first reviewer, they found this somewhat pleasant. Despite the factory noise, this reviewer indicated a willingness to stay at Sunny South RV Park again, suggesting that the positive aspects of the park outweigh the noise issues for them personally.
A third reviewer described the physical layout of the park, noting that "the sites are lined up in a single row, on gravel." This provides a clear picture of the camping arrangement and the ground surface of the sites. The use of gravel can be beneficial for drainage and stability. This reviewer also mentioned that the park is situated "in a very large field surrounded by trees," painting an image of a potentially scenic and somewhat secluded rural setting. The expectation of seeing deer wandering in the field further reinforces this impression of a park located in a natural environment.
Combining these reviews, Sunny South RV Park emerges as a campground offering practical amenities such as full hookups and a well-regarded laundry room. The sites are spacious and located on gravel within a large, tree-surrounded field, potentially offering a pleasant rural atmosphere with dark skies ideal for stargazing. However, potential guests should be aware of the proximity to railroad tracks, which results in train noise, and the operation of a nearby industrial factory that begins in the early morning hours, potentially causing noise disturbance during sleep.
For those searching "RV parks near me" who value spacious sites, essential hookups, and laundry facilities, Sunny South RV Park offers these advantages. The rural setting and potential for wildlife sightings could also be appealing to nature lovers. However, the noise factors from the trains and the early morning factory operations are crucial considerations, especially for light sleepers or those seeking absolute quiet.
Prospective visitors should contact Sunny South RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about the intensity and frequency of train traffic and the nature and level of noise produced by the industrial factory. It might also be helpful to ask if the park has any specific recommendations or strategies for mitigating these potential noise disturbances. Inquiring about other amenities, such as restroom and shower facilities (as one reviewer did not inspect them), Wi-Fi availability, and any recreational areas, would also be beneficial.
The fact that multiple reviewers mentioned the train noise but did not find it overwhelmingly negative suggests that it might be tolerable for many. However, the early morning factory noise seems to be a more significant concern, as it could disrupt sleep. Understanding the exact timing and nature of this noise would be important for potential guests to assess its impact on their stay.
The description of the sites being in a single row might influence the level of privacy between campsites. Those who prefer more secluded sites might want to inquire about the spacing between sites and any natural barriers that might exist.
In conclusion, Sunny South RV Park in Magee, Mississippi, offers spacious, gravel sites with full hookups and a well-regarded laundry facility in a rural setting surrounded by trees, potentially offering dark skies for stargazing. While the proximity to railroad tracks results in train noise that some find tolerable, the operation of a nearby industrial factory in the early morning hours is a more significant noise factor to consider. Despite these noise issues, at least one reviewer indicated a willingness to return, suggesting that the park's positive attributes, such as spacious sites and amenities, can outweigh the environmental noise for some travelers. Potential guests searching within the "RV parks near me" category should weigh these factors carefully and contact the park directly for more information to determine if it meets their specific needs and preferences.

Sunny South RV Park Reviews
It is a nice little campground. All the hookups. No concrete pads though. I didn't check out the showers personally. It has a laundry, which is a plus. Close enough to the railroad tracks to hear the trains go by. I don't find this unpleasant.
Jan 02, 2025 · Carolyn GrahamSpacious sites, wonderful laundry room, dark skies and blissfully quiet UNTIL the industrial factory starts its operations somewhere around 2:30 am, and when the occasional freight train passes nearby with its whistle blowing. I actually found the train whistling somewhat pleasant and the factory hum did not stop me from sleeping, after I determined the noise was not coming from the heater in my RV.Even with the noise, I would stay there again. The sites are lined up in a single row, on gravel. The park is in a very large field surrounded by trees. I expected to see deer wandering around in the field.

Mar 22, 2025 · Leslie Rene'eMy needs were a two night stay with tanks to empty, fill, laundry, shower, and quiet good nights sleep. All my needs taken care of.
Apr 10, 2025 · Richard PeltoVery friendly people that run this place! It’s a small, quiet, clean rv park. It’s in a good spot, only a few minutes from town. They have a small laundry unit that you can add to your rent to use. I recommend this place if you’re in the area!
