Ventura Beach RV Resort Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Ventura, California area, particularly those seeking a location close to the beach and local attractions, Ventura Beach RV Resort, situated at 800 W Main St, Ventura, CA 93001, USA, offers a resort-style experience with both advantages and potential drawbacks, as reflected in customer reviews. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview to help prospective visitors determine if this RV park aligns with their needs and preferences.
One recurring theme in the reviews is the park's suitability for families with children. One reviewer explicitly stated, "Great for families...." This suggests that the resort caters well to those traveling with kids, potentially offering a lively and engaging environment for younger guests. However, this family-friendly atmosphere may not be ideal for everyone, as the same reviewer followed up by saying, "...people without kids, not so much." This indicates a potential divide in the overall experience depending on whether or not you are traveling with children.
Another reviewer elaborated on the family dynamic, describing it as a "great place for people with kids where parents get to hang out at their campsite and party while their kids run amok, pestering everyone else except their own parents." This paints a picture of a potentially noisy environment with children not always adhering to campground etiquette, such as riding bikes through campsites or disregarding age restrictions for amenities like the spa. This is a significant consideration for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway.
Despite these concerns about noise and unsupervised children, the same reviewer acknowledged that "the resort itself and staff are great." This suggests that the physical infrastructure of the park and the service provided by the employees are generally well-regarded. However, these positive aspects might be overshadowed for some guests by the behavior of other visitors.
This reviewer also provided specific reasons for giving a 3-out-of-5-star rating, which offer valuable insights into potential areas for improvement. Firstly, they noted that "some of the trees need trimming to avoid possible damage to RV roof." This is a practical concern for RV owners, highlighting a potential maintenance issue that could impact the safety and condition of their vehicles.
Secondly, they pointed out that "for the number of guests this place can hold, it does not have the amenities (specifically pool & spa) to reasonably accommodate that number of people." This suggests that during peak times, the facilities might become overcrowded, diminishing the enjoyment for all guests. The reviewer specifically imagined how "packed the pool must be in the summer," indicating a potential capacity issue with the existing amenities.
Thirdly, the reviewer highlighted the high cost, stating "its very expensive ($160 - $220/night)." This price range positions Ventura Beach RV Resort at the higher end of the spectrum for "RV parks near me," and prospective visitors should factor this into their budget considerations.
Based on these experiences, the reviewer concluded that "If you don't have kids and especially if you have pets, don't expect a relaxing weekend." This strong recommendation suggests that the park's atmosphere, particularly during weekends, may not be conducive to a quiet and peaceful stay for those without children or those traveling with pets who might be sensitive to noise and activity.
However, another reviewer offered a contrasting and more positive perspective, stating that "This campground sadly gets terrible reviews...and doesn't deserve it." They reported a positive experience during a week-long stay for spring break, describing it as a "beautiful campground with lovely landscaping, gorgeous green grass, cement slabs and amenities." This suggests that the park does offer appealing physical attributes and well-maintained facilities.
This positive reviewer also highlighted a sense of security, noting that they "felt very safe as they have a strict policy on who can enter the property." They specifically mentioned the use of wristbands as a security measure, which, while complained about by some, was seen as being "for our best interest." This emphasis on security can be a significant benefit for travelers seeking a safe environment for their RV and belongings.
The location of Ventura Beach RV Resort was also praised by this reviewer, noting its proximity to "bike trails and so close to town." They specifically enjoyed "walking into town for the farmers market," indicating convenient access to local attractions and amenities. This could be a major draw for those who appreciate being able to explore the surrounding area without having to drive extensively.
The positive reviewer also commended the staff, describing them as "kind employees," further reinforcing the earlier positive comment about the resort staff. Finally, they mentioned an interesting natural detail, "Oh and check out the spongy tree bark...super cool!" This small observation adds a touch of natural curiosity to the park's environment.
Considering both sets of reviews, Ventura Beach RV Resort appears to be a well-maintained and conveniently located RV park with appealing landscaping and amenities. It is particularly geared towards families with children. However, potential drawbacks include a potentially noisy environment due to unsupervised children, especially on weekends, crowded amenities during peak times, high nightly rates, and the need for tree trimming in some areas. The park does offer a sense of security and is close to bike trails and the town of Ventura, including a farmers market.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" and considering Ventura Beach RV Resort, it is essential to weigh these factors based on their individual needs and preferences. Families with children who are looking for a lively environment close to the beach and town may find it appealing. However, those seeking a quiet and relaxing getaway, especially without children or with pets sensitive to noise, might want to consider visiting during the week or exploring alternative options.
To obtain the most current information regarding availability, rates, specific amenities, and park policies, it is recommended to contact Ventura Beach RV Resort directly at (805) 643-9137 or their mobile number +1 805-643-9137. Great for families.... people without kids, not so much.Great place for people with kids where parents get to hang out at their campsite and party while their kids run amok, pestering everyone else except their own parents. Had kids riding their bikes directly THROUGH our campsite all day and night. The resort itself and staff are great, its the parents who don't teach their kids about things like campground etiquette, following rules and just being respectful of other's space. The sign right by the spa clearly states 18 & over and yet it was overflowing with very young kids whose parents just don't care.Giving only 3 out of 5 stars for the following reasons:1. some of the trees need trimming to avoid possible damage to RV roof2. for the number of guests this place can hold, it does not have the amenities (specifically pool & spa) to reasonably accommodate that number of people. I can't image how packed the pool must be in the summer.3. its very expensive ($160 - $220/night)If you don't have kids and especially if you have pets, don't expect a relaxing weekend. I would definitely visit again, just definitely NOT on a weekend.
Apr 14, 2025 · Pete SmithThis campground sadly gets terrible reviews...and doesn't deserve it. We just spent a week here for spring break. It was a beautiful campground with lovely landscaping, gorgeous green grass, cement slabs and amenities. We felt very safe as they have a strict policy on who can enter the property. I know many complained about the wrist bands but it was for our best interest that they do this. The location was great too. It is right on the bike trails and so close to town. We thoroughly enjoyed walking into town for the farmers market. Great location...kind employees...nice campground!Oh and check out the spongy tree bark...super cool!
Apr 09, 2025 · Kimberly PardueFirst time staying here and they gave away our reservation that was made a month in advance. We even paid extra to reserve a specific spot. They apologized but couldn’t explain what happened. If you make a reservation you might want to check it daily to make sure you’re not bumped like we were. The facilities are nice and well kept, I guess I just have a bad taste in my mouth.
May 08, 2025 · Paul JohnstonEast to get in and lots of big pull throughs. Grass between each lot and the whole place is paved! The staff is amazing and the even had featured evening events, a movie night and a karoake night. Morning coffee, pool and jacuzzi, clean and beautiful area. Its close to the freeway but there is a bike lane you can take to the beach and down town! Some freeway noise but barely noticeable! They are in the process of putting in a laundry area and hopefully wifi but perfect other than that!
Apr 06, 2025 · Tim BaerJust spent a wonderful night in this pretty RV park. The place is very clean and pretty and the staff is so accommodating and friendly. They offer activities to keep the nights fun. And, a nice walk to Main street. I will definitely go back.
