Abol Bridge Campground & Store Reviews
Amazing experience! The staff was super friendly and we got some great suggestions for the area from them! We were lucky and got an amazing tent site with a view directly of Mount Katahdin. Also very calm, and we were able to rent kayaks and tubbing for the entire day for 35$. The tent sites were a bit expensive (20$ per person) but over all our experience was so great we are definitely planning on returning next year.
Sep 02, 2024 · Mathilde Williatte-BattetThis store is a lifesaver for thru hikers. The store itself is great for resupply and has a ton of eat options for the hungry hiker. The staff know hikers and it shows. This is also a good place to recharge your devices, hit the bathroom (HOT water), and grab some hot food/coffee. It an oasis.
Oct 09, 2024 · Anthony PBeautiful place, kinda feels like the end of the world. The store had nearly everything I needed, and the ice cream was good. Tent sites are kind of expensive, perhaps there should be a designated hiker tent area. Showers were lovely though.
Sep 07, 2023 · Will H.118A great campground with beautiful views of Katahdin and the river. Prices are maybe a little steep as they are per person, but it includes a nice breakfast and clean restrooms/showers. Everybody who works there is SO friendly and accommodating. Only things to note are the bathrooms didn't have hand soap, and try to avoid sites 13-15 - they are right next to the bridge and truck traffic is loud throughout the night!
Aug 06, 2022 · Maija ManninenStore sells you firewood knowing you can't bring it in the camp. Rangers tell you the store is a scam and make you throw it away even though you just bought it just down the road. Then the website says 4-6 peopleper site, but rangers insist website is wrong and make you buy another site for 5 people. None were available so after hiking all day, couldn't stay and had to drive 7 hours overnight to get back home and of course kept the money for the site already rented.
