Agency Lake Resort Introduce
If you're a local resident searching for a tranquil escape under the category "camping near me," Agency Lake Resort, located at 37000 Modoc Point Rd, Chiloquin, OR 97624, USA, presents a compelling option. Situated on the shores of Agency Lake, this resort offers a blend of cabin accommodations and camping opportunities, promising a peaceful retreat in a picturesque setting. You can reach them at (541) 783-2489 or their mobile number, +1 541-783-2489, for inquiries and information.
Based on customer reviews, Agency Lake Resort appears to offer a welcoming environment for those seeking a quiet getaway. One visitor described the resort as a "welcome site" for someone wanting peace and quiet. They specifically praised the owners as "fabulous," "helpful," and "courteous," highlighting their efforts to ensure a comfortable stay for both the guest and their canine companion. This suggests a personalized and attentive level of service, where guests can feel well taken care of.
The cleanliness and comfort of the cabins were also positively noted, with one reviewer stating their cabin was "VERY clean and VERY comfortable." The fact that essential items were provided, including the thoughtful touch of having coffee available in their store for a forgetful guest, adds to the positive impression of the resort's amenities and service. The property itself is described as having "luscious green grass," a welcome contrast to more barren or paved camping areas, providing a pleasant environment for relaxation and for pets to roam.
Agency Lake Resort emphasizes the natural entertainment available, encouraging guests to engage with the surroundings rather than relying on traditional resort amenities like playgrounds or swimming pools (though swimming in the lake is an option). The entire lake is presented as a vast playground for activities, promoting a connection with nature and the beauty of the outdoors. This philosophy encourages guests to disconnect from technology and appreciate the serene environment right outside their cabin door.
The positive review concludes by highlighting the "comforts you need to really enjoy your stay" and the "great staff that works hard to make your stay a great stay." The reviewer's personal experience of a restful sleep and their dog's enjoyment of the grassy area further reinforces the appeal of Agency Lake Resort as a place for relaxation and rejuvenation for both humans and their furry friends.
However, it's important to consider all feedback to gain a balanced perspective. Another reviewer shared a less positive experience, primarily concerning interactions with the hostess. This guest reported that while the "host was delightful," their interactions with the hostess were less so. The issues raised included a lack of reservations, unclear rules about the number of tents per site leading to unexpected charges, and a refusal to allow camping on empty sites further from a noisy gravel road.
The reviewer noted "heavy traffic on the gravel road 15' from our tents" with vehicles reportedly driving by at high speeds throughout the night, significantly impacting the peace and quiet of their camping experience. While they did acknowledge that the "facilities were clean" and the "lake and willows serene," the noise from the road was a major drawback. They also mentioned "decent and clean bathrooms and showers," which is a positive aspect regarding the amenities.
This contrasting review highlights the importance of potentially inquiring about campsite locations relative to the road if you plan on tent camping. While the lake and surrounding natural environment are consistently described as beautiful and serene, the proximity of some campsites to a busy road could be a significant factor for those prioritizing peace and quiet.
Considering both perspectives, Agency Lake Resort offers a potentially wonderful lakeside retreat with comfortable cabins, a pet-friendly environment, and access to the beauty and recreational opportunities of Agency Lake. The owners are praised for their helpfulness and the cleanliness of the facilities. However, potential tent campers should be aware of the possibility of being placed near a busy gravel road and the specific policies regarding reservations and campsite occupancy. It might be beneficial to inquire about the location of your assigned site when booking to ensure a more peaceful experience.
For local users seeking "camping near me" who appreciate a lakeside setting, the option of cabin rentals, and a generally welcoming atmosphere, Agency Lake Resort is worth investigating. The positive feedback regarding the owners, the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations, and the beauty of the lake and surrounding area are significant draws. By being mindful of the potential for noise from the road and clarifying any concerns about site location and policies beforehand, you can better ensure a pleasant and relaxing getaway at Agency Lake Resort.
In conclusion, Agency Lake Resort provides a unique blend of lakeside beauty and comfortable accommodations in Chiloquin, Oregon. Its strengths include the helpfulness of the owners, the cleanliness of the cabins and facilities, the pet-friendly policy, and the natural recreational opportunities offered by Agency Lake. While some campers have experienced issues with campsite location relative to road noise and specific site policies, understanding these potential drawbacks and communicating your preferences when booking can help you make the most of your stay at this serene lakeside resort.

Agency Lake Resort Reviews
The resort was a welcome site for me .. I have been wanting to get away to someplace peaceful and quiet. The owners were fabulous and were more than helpful and courteous. They made sure that everything was comfortable for me and my canine friend. The cabin was VERY clean and VERY comfortable. They had everything there that I needed and even had coffee in their store.(I forgot mine) The property has luscious green grass not some dirt or slab park. Agency Lake Resort offers you a wide variety of entertainment. You just have to have a little imagination and not think that you are in a place that has to entertain you with playgrounds, swimming pools and lounges... You have the entire Lake to play on and swim in and the beauty of all of it is better feeling than you get from a lounge. So get off those phones, take out that do-up-hair-do and go out and see the beauty that is right out the cabin door. They have all the comforts you need to really enjoy your stay and a great staff that works hard to make your stay a great stay. I truly enjoyed my stay ... My Missy had so much fun rolling around in the grass.. she found perfume.. fishy smelling but all clean and it was great to see her have so much fun rolling around. We sure slept good!!!! So go ahead stay here and enjoy the time, you deserve it and this place is just what the soul needs.
May 26, 2017 · Velda PalenGrumpy hostess doesn't take reservations but will take your name (whatever that means). She greeted me by demanding to know if I'd called ahead (I had). After I paid, she marched over and demanded only one tent per site (again, fine, but a secret rule and now $45 in stead of $15). She wouldn't let us use sites further from the road although they were empty and stayed that way. Heavy traffic on the gravel road 15' from our tents blazed by at 50 mph all night long. Host was delightful, but most of my interactions were with hostess. Facilities were clean. Lake and willows serene. Decent and clean bathrooms and showers. I think if I'd been allowed to camp further from road, it would have been lovely.
Jul 21, 2016 · Dylan LeemanThe couple who own the resort are very friendly. Unfortunately, they no longer provide the advertised amenities. No boats, bathroom aren't open, etc. The place is for sale and they can no longer accommodate. Their are millions of tiny insects and spiders that infiltrate your RV and keep you from going outside. There was an algae bloom in the lake that made the lake water poisonous. Best to not fish or walk your dogs there. There are lots of beautiful birds. The Woodriver wetlands are beautiful and it's close to Crater Lake.
Jul 11, 2019 · Nanetta & Norman LandryFound out after we arrived that the lake was totally poisonous! Lucky we didn't have a pet. Also discovered that the pictures showing an oven were only for people who chose to go outside for a bathroom. Since ours had a bathroom (with a communal shower), no oven. No A/C, no ice trays, no TV, you get skimpy towels once a week whether you need them or not. Be careful booking a cabin since the lakeview could be taken by an RV. On the plus side they were both helpful in local information and it was quiet and clean.
Sep 16, 2016 · Jim OrnatGood location right on the lake, convenient to Crater Lake and Klamath Falls. The park had good upgraded hookups and the owners are very friendly and accomodating. The lake had a lot of weeds and grass when we were there, plus loads and loads of little annoying bugs that infiltrated the RV any time a door was opened. Could not sit outside because of the bugs plus when we were there it was very very hot.
