Ahtus Melder Campground Reviews
A very peaceful unique free camping area on what remains of a 1940s military base. 5.00 for trail use. Room on level paved parking for about 5 rvs, lots of room if you can go off pavement. Very basic but very peaceful and easy to find. Free rv camping in the national forest. Amazing.
Jan 31, 2023 · Rebecca LentsA beautiful FREE rv and tent camping area on what was a 1940s military base in the Kisatchie National Forest. 5.00 for trail use. Limited flat paved parking but motorhomes and rvs will fit.
Feb 02, 2023 · rebecca LentsWe stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. This horse camp was beautiful and comfortable. Be warned. It can fill up and be noisy on the weekends, but you also get to see a lot of horses. During the week, we were the only ones. This free campground is a hidden gem. There are loads of trails for horseback riding and dirt bike riding at only $5. Camping is a steal at $0.
Nov 11, 2019 · Jason Fair (Nomadic Nerd Project)Absolutely AWESOME. Free to camp. Unfortunately, they are installing FHU sites soon. It will probably be busy then, taking away from the solitude.
