Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the St. Rose, Louisiana area? Nelson RV Park, located at 12350 River Rd, St Rose, LA 70087, USA, presents a well-regarded option for RV travelers. You can reach them at (504) 729-8851 or their mobile number +1 504-729-8851 for inquiries and reservations.
When selecting an RV park, factors such as the quality of the sites, available amenities, safety, and overall environment are paramount. Based on the positive feedback from individuals who have stayed at Nelson RV Park, we can gather valuable insights into what makes this park a potentially excellent choice for those exploring "RV parks near me."
Several reviewers have consistently praised the physical attributes of Nelson RV Park. One guest highlighted the "large level slabs" at each space, ensuring a stable and comfortable setup for your RV. The inclusion of a "good sized grass area" at each site is another significant advantage, providing a pleasant outdoor space for relaxation and for pets. The availability of "working washers and dryers in the laundry room" and a "clean working shower and water closet" in the same area adds to the convenience and comfort of longer stays. Furthermore, the provision of "good wifi for streaming" is a valuable amenity in today's connected world.
The upkeep of the park also receives positive mentions, with one reviewer noting that the "grass is kept cut," indicating good maintenance of the grounds. Safety and security are also highlighted, with a guest stating, "I felt very safe and secure here." The park's "convenient location" is another benefit mentioned, although specific details about nearby attractions or services are not provided in these reviews.
For pet owners, Nelson RV Park appears to be accommodating, with guests observing that "most people walk their pets on leashes and actually clean up after them," suggesting a responsible pet-friendly environment. One reviewer explicitly stated they "enjoyed my stay" and listed several included services: "Water, sewer, electric, wifi, trash, and grass cutting are all provided by the RV park," offering excellent value and convenience.
Another satisfied guest stated unequivocally, "If I'm back in the area, I'll be staying at Nelson's again," a strong testament to their positive experience.
Anna, who works in the office, is also mentioned positively, being described as "extremely nice," which contributes to a welcoming and helpful atmosphere at the park.
However, one reviewer provided important contextual information about the park's surroundings. Nelson RV Park is located "next to Bunge Grain Elevator." This proximity has potential implications that prospective guests should be aware of. The reviewer noted that RVs and vehicles might be "completely covered in dust," and occasionally, "a bad smell emanates from there." Additionally, when the elevator is operational, it can be audible from the park. The reviewer astutely pointed out that the park has no control over these external factors but emphasized the importance of being aware of them. Another environmental factor mentioned is the routine spraying for mosquitos, which occurs within the park at night, though not nightly. The reviewer, familiar with this practice from growing up in the area, noted its necessity.
Further positive feedback highlights that "all spaces are concrete, level and wide with full hookups." The "full hookups" typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections, adding to the convenience for RVers. The park also offers "enough grass space between sites so you don't feel claustrophobic," a significant advantage over parks with tightly packed spaces. Ample parking is available, with "plenty of space to park multiple cars." All sites are back-in, which is a common setup in many RV parks. The "center road between both sides of the sites is wide," making it easier to maneuver larger RVs, as one guest with a 37' motorhome confirmed having "no problem backing...into its site."
The park has "not many trees," which might be a consideration for those seeking significant shade. Many long-term residents are present, often an indicator of a comfortable and stable park environment. Laundry facilities are available on-site and are reported to be "clean," requiring a code for access, likely for security. The "grounds are extremely well maintained," reinforcing the earlier observation about the grass being cut. The park is "usually gated with a code," although the gate opener was reportedly under maintenance during one guest's stay. Despite this, the reviewer "felt safe," echoing the sentiment of another guest. One reviewer noted that some sites are nicely decorated, suggesting a sense of community and pride among some residents. The park is described as having "quiet people within the park," contributing to a peaceful atmosphere.
Finally, the train noise, a common concern for RV parks located near railway lines, is reported to be "barely hear" at Nelson RV Park. The reviewer, having stayed at other parks along both sides of the river where train noise was "horrendous," found this to be a significant advantage. Even the proximity to a switching station visible from I-310 did not result in significant train noise. Anna from the office also mentioned that the park is "usually full," indicating its popularity and potentially the need to book in advance.
In conclusion, Nelson RV Park in St. Rose, Louisiana, appears to be a well-maintained, clean, and safe RV park offering large, level concrete sites with full hookups and a good range of amenities, including laundry facilities and reliable wifi. The park is pet-friendly and conveniently located, although potential guests should be aware of its proximity to a grain elevator, which may occasionally result in dust and smells. The helpfulness of the office staff, particularly Anna, is also a notable positive. The park's popularity suggests it is a desirable option for both short and long-term stays in the St. Rose area. For those searching for "RV parks near me," Nelson RV Park warrants serious consideration, keeping in mind the environmental factors related to the nearby grain elevator.

Nelson RV Park Reviews
Large level slabs. Each space has a good sized grass area. Working washers and dryers in the laundry room. There's a clean working shower and water closet in the laundry room area. Good wifi for streaming. Grass is kept cut. I felt very safe and secure here. Convenient location too. Most people walk their pets on leashes and actually clean up after them. I enjoyed my stay. Water, sewer, electric, wifi, trash, and grass cutting are all provided by the RV park.If I'm back in the area, I'll be staying at Nelson's again.
Oct 09, 2023 · Tim HAnna in the office is extremely nice. FYI, park is next to Bunge Grain Elevator. This means your RV and vehicles will be completely covered in dust, sometimes a bad smell emanates from there and when the elevator is running you can hear it when outside. However, I'm not removing stars because the park has no control over this, just something to be aware of. Also, if you're not used to the trucks that spray for mosquitos, they do make rounds within the park at night but not nightly. I grew up in Metairie so I'm used to this, just another FYI and spraying is a necessity. All spaces are concrete, level and wide with full hookups. Enough grass space between sites so you don't feel claustrophobic. Plenty of space to park multiple cars. All spots are back in. The center road between both sides of the sites is wide and we had no problem backing our 37' motorhome into it's site. Not many trees. Many long term people. Laundry on site and clean, requires a code to access. The grounds are extremely well maintained. Usually gated with a code but I think the opener needed maintenance when I was there but I felt safe. One of the sites has their area decorated nicely. Quiet people within the park. Also want to point out you can barely hear the trains. I've stayed in other parks along both sides of the river and the train noise is horrendous. If you take I-310 and notice the switching station this may concern you but the train noise is negligible. Anna did tell me the park is usually full.

May 23, 2019 · Lynette VerdinGreat quiet, well maintained and clean park. Easily the nicest park in the area, with nice big concrete slabs and lots of walking areas. The owner, Anna, is very nice and so is everyone else that helps to run the park. I feel safe here with my family and know that if we have any issues we can give them a call or text and it will be resolved. I highly recommend this park if you are in the area.
