Mozella RV Park Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in the Paradis, Louisiana area, Mozella RV Park, located at 14485 Old Spanish Trail, presents itself as a potential option. However, it is crucial for prospective residents to be aware of the significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews to make an informed decision. While one review offers a contrasting positive sentiment, the overwhelming majority of feedback highlights several serious issues regarding management, environmental factors, safety, and park policies.
One long-term resident, a shift worker who stayed at Mozella RV Park for nearly two years, described their experience as "awful from day one." Despite the initial low cost and convenience for their job, this reviewer expressed regret for not leaving immediately. This strong negative sentiment underscores the severity of the problems encountered during their extended stay.
Environmentally, Mozella RV Park appears to suffer from significant pest issues. Multiple reviewers mentioned a "horrible fire ant problem" that makes it difficult to step outside. Additionally, the mosquito situation after dark is described as severe, although one reviewer somewhat resignedly attributed this to being in south Louisiana. While some level of insect presence is expected in the region, the descriptions suggest an infestation that significantly impacts the ability to enjoy the outdoor space around one's RV.
A primary area of concern highlighted in the reviews is the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the management. One reviewer specifically detailed their negative interactions with a woman who manages the park and drives around on a golf cart. This individual is described as acting as if she is doing residents a favor, being excessively forceful when knocking on camper doors, and being frequently absent from the office when needed. Furthermore, when contact is made, the manager is characterized as "unfriendly and abrasive for no reason." Such behavior can create a hostile and unwelcoming environment for residents.
Security is another significant issue raised by former residents. The park's policy of leaving all mail and packages outside the office, accessible to anyone, is a major concern for potential theft. While the presence of security cameras is mentioned, their functionality is doubted by a reviewer who reported instances of theft within the park. This lack of reliable security can leave residents feeling vulnerable and unsafe.
Interactions with some neighbors also appear to be problematic. One reviewer recounted multiple instances where neighbors directly beside them backed their truck dangerously close to their RV lines, nearly damaging their sewer hose. This lack of consideration from some residents can lead to stress and potential damage to personal property.
Safety concerns extend beyond interactions within the park. The location of Mozella RV Park along Old Spanish Highway is described as having "odd characters" walking along the road and nearby railroad track. This led one reviewer to feel unsafe leaving personal items outside their camper due to the perceived risk of theft or other issues. The presence of stray cats, flooding problems, and the proximity to a noisy railroad track further detract from the overall living environment.
The physical condition of the park's common areas also receives criticism. The office and bathhouse area are described as looking like a "junkyard," suggesting a lack of upkeep and a potentially unpleasant environment for residents needing to use these facilities.
Perhaps one of the most concerning aspects highlighted in the reviews is the park's pet policy. Despite some reviews claiming the park is pet-friendly, one reviewer explicitly states that "absolutely no pets" are allowed. Furthermore, this reviewer alleges that the owner does not comply with federal law protecting individuals with disabilities who require service dogs. This is a serious accusation that, if true, would be a significant legal and ethical violation. Prospective residents with service animals should be particularly cautious and seek clarification on this policy directly from the management, and potentially consult relevant legal resources to understand their rights.
Amidst the overwhelmingly negative feedback, there is one brief review stating, "A quiet nice and cozy place feels like home." This positive comment stands in stark contrast to the numerous serious complaints. It is possible that this reviewer experienced a different aspect of the park or had a significantly different interaction with the management and environment. However, given the detailed and consistent nature of the negative reviews, this single positive comment should be viewed with caution and weighed against the more prevalent negative experiences.
Based on the available information, Mozella RV Park appears to have significant shortcomings that potential residents searching for "RV parks near me" in Paradis, Louisiana, should carefully consider. The issues raised include rude and unhelpful management, severe pest problems (fire ants and mosquitos), concerns about safety and security (potential theft, proximity to a potentially unsafe highway), problematic interactions with some neighbors, a restrictive and potentially illegal pet policy, and a poorly maintained common area. While the park may have been cheap and conveniently located for some, the numerous negative aspects paint a concerning picture of the living environment.
Given the serious nature of the complaints, local users are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when considering Mozella RV Park. It is highly recommended to contact the park management directly using the provided phone numbers, (985) 758-3002 or +1 985-758-3002, to seek clarification on the issues raised in the reviews and to inquire about current policies and conditions. Mozella RV Park Reviews
Shift worker who stayed almost 2 years part time & it was awful from day one. Should have left that day but stayed because it was cheap and convenient for my job.Horrible fire ant problem and its impossible to step outside after dark because of how bad the mosquitos are but this is south Louisiana after all so I just put up with it.What I never should have tolerated was the rudeness of the management. Theres a woman who rides around on her golf cart acting like shes doing YOU a favor by managing. If she ever knocks on your camper door it’s going to feel like a police raid because she will beat on it so hard you’ll need to check for dents. Shes never in her office when you need her and if you do run into her shes unfriendly and abrasive for no reason. All mail and packages are left outside her office so anyone can just grab them- and theres no kind of security. Supposedly cameras but I highly doubt they are functional considering the theft that went on.Some neighbors are cool but the ones directly beside me routinely backed their truck way too close to my lines and almost backed over my sewer hose more than once!Old Spanish highway has some odd characters that walk up and down in the middle of the road/railroad track. I never felt safe enough to leave anything like a nice cooler or chairs outside the camper. Stray cats everywhere, flooding, office/bath house area looks like a junkyard, too close to the railroad, tons of traffic, nasty manager- I wouldnt send my worst enemy to that place.Oh and absolutely no pets. The owner doesn’t comply with federal law protecting those with disabilities who have service dogs. I’ve seen some reviews saying it’s pet friendly but it definitely isn’t.

Nov 19, 2024 · Marshell CountyI will NEVER stay here again. 1st time we stayed was when my mom suddenly passed away and Mozella was the only park in the area with a space. She was nice to my husband when he explained the situation and she put us in the back. Just an FYI, the train track is extremely close and not only loud, but shakes the motorhome several times a day and night. I would have given this park 5 stars except for the 2nd time we "tried" to stay here. Now being a long distance caretaker to my widowed 86 year old dad with Parkinson's, I had set up a week of doctors appointments, OMV appointments, etc. My husband called to make a reservation. He was on speaker so I heard the entire discussion. He requested a spot in the back which are nicer. She told him there was nothing in the back but had sites up front. No problem, we needed it so he booked it and she read the dates back to him before hanging up. After driving 4 hours and about 20 minutes away from the park, I call before the office closed to get our site number. She tells me they have no availability. I responded that we have a reservation. She tells me "I told your husband I don't guarantee reservations". She's an absolute liar because had she told him that, my husband would have looked for another park knowing I had to absolutely have a place to stay that week. Plus she didn't realize I had heard the entire discussion when he booked the reservation, so as a liar, she was trying to put the blame on my husband. You can't get any lower as a person than that. My best guess is she either didn't write it down or had someone come in that wanted a monthly spot and the dollars were more important than satisfying a repeat customer who was going to be there for only a week. The owner couldn't have cared less how put out she would have made me had another RV park not had a site available at literally the last minute. I have read other reviews how rude this woman is and I can attest that she is also uncaring and not a person of her word. If you can't guarantee reservations, don't take them, simple. Who thinks taking a reservation and not honoring it is OK? Don't lie and attempt to throw my husband under the bus to me, own up to your either mistake or greed. I make many trips down there to take care of my dad, this park will not get anymore of my money.
Jun 05, 2023 · noahdorablesThis has been one of the best experiences we have ever had in a RV park. Every one is friendly and the manager will go out of her way to make you feel at hone. Pam will go above and beyond to take care of any problems. If she can’t fix it her husband will and if he can’t then they will call in a professional. She keeps the laundry area and bathrooms clean. Would highly recommend for the peace and quiet.
