This suggests that if you're looking for a campground where your canine companions are not just allowed but truly welcomed, Alder Glen could be an ideal choice. The campground is also described as "nice and quiet," indicating a peaceful atmosphere where you can truly relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Furthermore, the presence of "easy water access at certain sites" suggests that the Nestucca River is a prominent feature, likely offering opportunities for activities near the water.
While specific details about all services are not exhaustively listed, one review explicitly mentions a "clean bathroom," which is always a significant plus for any camping experience. This attention to cleanliness suggests that the overall maintenance of the recreation site is likely of a good standard. The mention of easy water access at some sites implies that potable water is available, at least in certain areas of the campground. For local users prioritizing cleanliness and accessibility to water, Alder Glen seems to meet these needs.
One of the most heartwarming aspects highlighted in the reviews is the exceptional hospitality of the campground hosts, particularly Troy and Gina. One detailed review serves as a memorial to Troy, who sadly passed away while working at his beloved Alder Glen Campground. The review paints a picture of Troy as an incredibly dedicated and kind BLM Host who kept the campground "pristinely, clean and tidy" and went out of his way to make guests feel welcome. His thoughtfulness, such as informing campers about the lifting of a fire ban, showcases a host who genuinely cared about the campers' experience. The reviewer also fondly recalls Gina's kindness, including making a blackberry cobbler from local berries and her excitement about catching her first trout from the river near campsite #9.
These personal anecdotes speak volumes about the atmosphere and community spirit that can be found at Alder Glen Recreation Site. The dedication of the hosts, Troy and Gina (and now Gina continuing), seems to have created a welcoming environment where campers feel valued and cared for. This personal touch can significantly enhance a camping trip, making it more than just a stay in the outdoors but a memorable experience. For local users who appreciate a friendly and community-oriented camping environment, Alder Glen appears to be a standout option.
The features of Alder Glen likely revolve around its natural setting along the Nestucca River. River access often implies opportunities for fishing, and as mentioned in the review, trout fishing is indeed possible. The surrounding area in Beaver, Oregon, is known for its natural beauty, so campers can probably expect opportunities for hiking and exploring the local landscape. The "quiet" nature of the campground suggests that it might be a smaller, more intimate setting compared to larger, more bustling campgrounds, which could be a significant feature for those seeking tranquility.

Alder Glen Recreation Site Reviews
One of the best dog friendly places I've ever been! The campground was nice and quiet, clean bathroom, easy water access at certain sites.
Oct 09, 2024 · Deanna JThis review of Alder Glen Campground goes out as a dedication and memorial to our good friends, Troy, who recently was called home to heaven and his wife, Gina, the greatest and nicest campground Hosts and most lovely people we have ever have met! Sadly, Troy passed away unexpectedly while doing what he loved the most, living, working for the BLM and being in the woods at Alder Glen Campground on the Nestucca River. It was his favorite place on earth. He was the hardest working BLM Host and kept the campground pristinely, clean and tidy and made friends with everyone that stayed here. He came to our camp site #11, especially to tell us when the fire ban had been lifted, after a day of rain, so we could be the first campers to have a campfire! He knew we were chilly for the first 3 days camping with just our propane bbq grill to keep us warm! He was the kindest, most caring man! His, lovely wife Gina made us a blackberry cobbler from the wild berries on the bridge and we remember her catching her very first trout ever on the river, out of camp site #9, and running up to our camp site #11 to show us her catch! Troy had just taught her how to fish with a lure and she was so proud of her success! We will have the most fondest memories of Troy and Gina that will last forever in our hearts! Our sincere condolences, Love and Prayers of comfort goes out especially to you, Gina, our good friend and their family, friends and loved ones. We Love you and will miss you, Troy! May God Bless You and rest your soul in the forests of Heaven! With Love and gratitude, Charlie and Katrina Wright in Campsite #11 at Alder Glen Campground. 😇🙏✝️🌲🌲🌳🌳🐿️🏞️⛺🏕️🥾🔥🐟🎣🌲🌲🌳🌳💔😭😢🥺🤗💖💞
Oct 01, 2023 · Katrina WrightClean campsites, vault toilets that are much cleaner than most I've been to, & potable water. Very quiet with a lot of wooded area between most sites. Easy access to the river and waterfall.
Jul 13, 2019 · Maddox MilamIt's beautiful next to the river with a beautiful waterfall on one end of the campground. There was a campsite that had the best view of it that would have been amazing to have. The bathroom was out of toilet paper (which was fine since we had our own) and it definitely needed to be dumped.
May 21, 2022 · Nyssa CardwellVery clean, quiet & relaxing. Bathrooms were nicely kept too. Definitely recommending to others & we will be back.
