Actual tent spot was okay, river was beautiful BUT too rocky. The trails down to river were also very steep. Wouldn't recommend for disabled, elderly or children. To get from place to place you have to carefully walk over large boulders, which made me fall & hurt my back. The river itself has no soft ground, it's all slippery rocks that cause you to be unstable can't really enjoy the water when you're worried about falling, hurting yourself. The bathrooms were disgusting, nobody cleaning up feces, no sink or sanitizer available. Trash everywhere. - C H

Trask River County Campground Introduce

For local residents of Oregon seeking "camping near me," Trask River County Campground, located at 25455 Trask River Rd, Tillamook, OR 97141, USA, presents a camping option with a notable riverside setting and, according to some reviews, a relaxed atmosphere. The campground can be contacted at (503) 322-3522 or +1 503-322-3522 for inquiries and potential reservations. Based on the available customer feedback, the experience at Trask River County Campground appears to be somewhat varied, with both positive and negative aspects highlighted.

The environment of Trask River County Campground is clearly centered around the Trask River. One reviewer described the river as "beautiful" and mentioned a "swimming hole" and opportunities for "floating down the river," indicating that the river is a significant attraction for campers. The presence of the river suggests potential for activities like fishing and enjoying the natural beauty of the riparian area. However, another reviewer noted that the riverbed itself is "too rocky" and lacks soft ground, consisting entirely of "slippery rocks" that can make wading and enjoying the water challenging and potentially unstable, raising concerns about the risk of falling and injury.

The terrain around the campground and the accessibility to the river also seem to be factors to consider. One review pointed out that the "trails down to river were also very steep" and that navigating the campground involves carefully walking over large boulders to get from place to place. This led the reviewer to advise against the campground for disabled individuals, the elderly, or children due to the potential hazards and difficulty of movement within the area. This is a critical piece of information for local users with mobility concerns or those camping with young children.

In terms of services and maintenance, the reviews present a mixed picture. One reviewer lauded the campground hosts, Tim and Ronnie, describing them as "freaking amazing," "very thoughtful and attentive." They recounted instances where the hosts went above and beyond, such as investigating disturbances and even saving campers a trip to town to purchase firewood. This positive feedback suggests that the hosts contribute significantly to a positive camping experience for some visitors, fostering a "chill vibe" and a welcoming atmosphere.

However, a stark contrast is presented by another reviewer who found the bathrooms to be "disgusting," alleging that they were not being cleaned, with the presence of feces and the absence of a sink or sanitizer. This raises serious concerns about the hygiene and maintenance of the campground's facilities. The same reviewer also noted "trash everywhere," suggesting a potential issue with waste management at the campground.

Features of Trask River County Campground, based on the positive review, include the swimming hole, the possibility of floating down the river, and a sense of "privacy" that is considered better than at other campgrounds. The "chill vibe" mentioned by this reviewer could be a significant draw for those seeking a more relaxed and less строго regulated camping experience compared to campgrounds with stricter rules.

The negative review highlights the rocky riverbed and steep, boulder-strewn paths as significant drawbacks, particularly for certain demographics. The lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms and the presence of trash are also serious concerns that potential visitors should be aware of. It's important to note that the positive review explicitly contrasts the relaxed atmosphere with the strict rules of another local campground (Kilchis Campground), suggesting that Trask River County Campground might appeal to those who prefer a more laid-back environment where adults are expected to be responsible for themselves and their children without constant host intervention.

Promotional aspects of Trask River County Campground, based on the positive feedback, would focus on its beautiful riverside location with opportunities for swimming and floating, the privacy offered at the campsites, and the welcoming and attentive nature of the hosts, creating a "chill vibe" for a relaxed camping experience. The hosts' willingness to go the extra mile, as described in the review, could also be a strong selling point.

However, any promotional material would need to be balanced with the negative feedback regarding the hazardous river access and potentially poor maintenance of the facilities. It would be prudent for local users to contact the campground directly at the provided phone number to inquire about the current conditions of the river access, the cleanliness of the bathrooms, and the waste management situation. Asking for recent updates or clarifications on these points would be essential before making a decision to camp at Trask River County Campground.

In conclusion, Trask River County Campground in Tillamook, Oregon, offers a riverside camping experience with potential for swimming and floating, and some visitors have appreciated the privacy and the "chill vibe" fostered by the attentive hosts. However, potential local users should be aware of significant concerns raised by other reviewers regarding the rocky and potentially hazardous river access, the steep and boulder-strewn paths within the campground, and issues with bathroom cleanliness and trash. Contacting the campground directly at (503) 322-3522 or +1 503-322-3522 is strongly recommended to obtain current information and assess whether the positive aspects outweigh the potential drawbacks for their specific needs and preferences when considering "camping near me."
