Conveniently listed under the 'camping near me' category, this campground provides an accessible and appealing option for local users looking for a nearby adventure.
Hibernia Campground - Area 2 boasts a potentially beautiful environment that has attracted visitors for years. According to past experiences, the campground has been appreciated for its natural charm and tranquil atmosphere. The presence of a beach area suggests opportunities for lakeside relaxation and potentially water-based activities. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the setting offers a chance to connect with nature and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of a campground environment.
While specific details regarding services and amenities directly from the provided information are limited, we can infer some common offerings typically associated with campgrounds. Campgrounds generally provide designated campsites, and it's reasonable to expect facilities such as restrooms and potentially shower houses. One recent visitor mentioned a "beautiful bath house," indicating the presence of such a facility. However, it's important to note a recent experience reported a lack of hot water in the bathhouse, which prospective visitors should be aware of.
Based on a customer review, there seems to have been a change in trash disposal procedures. The removal of individual campsite trash cans suggests a possible "pack it in, pack it out" policy, where campers are responsible for taking their trash with them. It is advisable for future visitors to confirm the current trash disposal guidelines before their arrival to ensure they are prepared.
One of the recurring features mentioned by a long-time visitor is the presence of sand, which can unfortunately track into tents. While this is a minor inconvenience, it's something to consider when preparing for your stay, especially if you plan on spending time near the beach areas. Bringing appropriate footwear and taking measures to keep your tent clean might be beneficial.
For those interested in water activities, one reviewer mentioned using Hibernia Campground as a base for annual kayak fishing trips, indicating potential access to suitable water bodies for such activities. This suggests that the campground might be appealing to those who enjoy fishing and paddling.
Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not contain any specific promotions or special offers. To learn about any current deals or discounts, it is recommended to contact Hibernia Campground - Area 2 directly via phone at (877) 722-6762 or mobile phone at +1 877-722-6762. It is important to consider recent feedback from visitors when planning your trip. One recent experience highlighted some potential drawbacks, including the absence of a reserved tag upon arrival, downed trees and debris in beach areas, the removal of trash cans, and a lack of hot water in the bathhouse. The reviewer also noted a perceived lack of engagement from park rangers. While this was one individual's experience, it serves as a reminder that conditions and service levels can vary.
Despite the recent negative feedback, another long-term visitor still considers Hibernia a "great place to camp," emphasizing their enjoyment during annual visits. This suggests that the campground still holds appeal for many, particularly those who appreciate its natural setting and perhaps are less concerned about some of the mentioned issues.

Hibernia Campground - Area 2 Reviews
Beautiful campground, I’ve stayed several times in the past 7-8 years. A big disappointment this time. When we arrived, they didn’t put a reserved tag at our site, so we were lucky it wasn’t already taken. Once there, there were downed trees and debris cluttering the only beach areas we had. They have also pulled all the trash cans up around the campground that used to be placed at each campsite, so I’m guessing you take all trash with you(what we did). Beautiful bath house….. but they had no hot water. Also waved at park rangers as they drive by, and didn’t wave back. Not a good experience this time. We may find a closer park next time.
Jun 12, 2022 · James HarrellHibernia is a great place to camp. The only downside is that the sand tracks into your tent. We have camped there on an annual kayak fishing trip for a few years and always enjoy our time there.
Oct 17, 2023 · Mitch LassiterWe had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend with 180-degree views of the lake. The site was level and well maintained.
