Stunning Waterfront Environment on Kerr Lake: Kerr Lake, also known as Buggs Island Lake, is a vast reservoir straddling the border of North Carolina and Virginia, renowned for its beautiful shoreline, clear waters, and abundant recreational opportunities. The Hibernia Group Area within Kerr Lake State Park benefits immensely from this picturesque setting. A key highlight from the reviews is that it boasts "70% waterfront sites," meaning a significant majority of the campsites offer direct or very close access to the lake. This prime location provides campers with breathtaking views of the water, easy access for boating and kayaking ("a great spot to boat or kayak from"), and a generally serene and scenic environment. The seclusion mentioned in the reviews suggests that the Hibernia Group Area is likely situated in a quieter part of the state park, allowing for a more immersive natural experience away from more crowded areas. Kerr Lake State Park, Hibernia Group Area Reviews
Great camping location as always. I have camped here multiple times. Always a great experience.
Sep 30, 2024 · Xplore KayakGreat location for a group outdoor camping event. Has 70% waterfront sites, water hookups, picnic tables, very scenic and secluded. A great spot to boat or kayak from. Accommodates a group of 50 people, with tents, RVs( self-contained), and campervans.
Jul 23, 2024 · Xplore Kayak ToursKerr Lake is one of my first go-tos for a nice ride in the afternoon with my Harley. This park is unbelievably nice. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth a visit! I've never camped there, but the camping areas look nice also.
Dec 08, 2024 · William RossThis is literally the worst Campground I've ever seen. Half of the sites aren't even close to flat, with absolutely nothing done to make them better. We will be sleeping at an angle tonight because they don't take care of anything here. This can NOT be a stste park because the state would never have let it get this way. We can't even put anything on our table because it just slides off. There is no gravel at any of the tent camping sites and only the RV sites get bear poles apparently. Also there is only one bath house and you have to walk half a mile to get to it.Overall this place is a huge disappointment, we we're really looking forward to a nice Labor day weekend but because of this place it will be more laborer than weekend.
