For local users searching within the 'camping near me' category, Apple Orchard Primitive Campground, located on New Holland Road in Andrews, IN 46702, offers a seemingly well-maintained and tranquil option for those seeking a getaway. Based on the available address and customer reviews, this introduction will delve into the potential environment, services, and features of this campground, keeping in mind the "primitive" aspect in its name, and guide local users on how to potentially find promotional information.
The Environment of Apple Orchard Primitive Campground Near Andrews, IN:
The reviews suggest that Apple Orchard Primitive Campground boasts a "well manicured and clean" environment, indicating that the grounds are likely cared for and aesthetically pleasing. The mention of "plenty of room at each site" implies that campers can expect spacious individual camping areas, potentially offering a degree of privacy and comfort. The presence of a "beach" and a "swimming area" strongly suggests that the campground is located near a body of water, likely a lake or a pond, providing opportunities for aquatic activities. The reviewer notes that the swimming area is "pretty wide" but the water "doesn't get very deep for an adult," which could be ideal for families with young children or those preferring shallow water for relaxation. The name "Apple Orchard Primitive Campground" itself hints at the possibility of apple trees being present on or near the property, potentially adding to the scenic charm, especially during blooming or fruiting seasons. The overall environment seems geared towards a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor experience, with a focus on cleanliness and space.
Potential Services and Amenities at a "Primitive" Campground:
The term "primitive campground" typically implies a more basic level of amenities compared to full-service campgrounds. However, Apple Orchard Primitive Campground appears to offer more than just bare campsites. The mention of a "camp store" indicates that basic camping supplies, snacks, and possibly other necessities might be available for purchase on-site, adding a level of convenience for campers. The presence of a beach and swimming area are significant amenities, suggesting that the campground caters to recreational activities beyond just setting up camp. While the review doesn't explicitly mention restrooms or showers, these are often provided at even primitive campgrounds to some extent, although they might be more basic facilities. Given the positive reviews regarding cleanliness, it's reasonable to assume that the available facilities are maintained. Hook-ups for RVs (electricity, water, sewer) are less likely at a campground labeled "primitive," but it's worth inquiring if any are available for those who prefer some level of RV convenience. Local users should contact the campground directly at (260) 468-2125 or +1 260-468-2125 to confirm the specific amenities offered, including restroom and shower facilities, water sources, and any potential RV hook-ups.
Features and Activities at Apple Orchard Primitive Campground:
The standout features of Apple Orchard Primitive Campground seem to revolve around its natural setting and recreational opportunities. The spacious campsites provide a comfortable and less crowded camping experience. The beach and swimming area are significant draws, particularly for families and those looking to cool off during warmer months. The camp store, despite its slightly challenging location to find (as noted in the review – "sign points to a parking lot, but you have to go all the way to the back of it and down a steep embankment"), offers convenience for purchasing essentials. The overall atmosphere appears to be geared towards a "quiet weekend camping," as described by one reviewer, suggesting a peaceful and relaxing environment, ideal for those looking to escape the noise and bustle of daily life. The potential presence of an apple orchard could add a unique visual and sensory element to the camping experience, especially during the appropriate seasons. Local users might enjoy leisurely walks around the campground, taking in the natural surroundings, swimming or relaxing by the beach, and utilizing the camp store for any needed items. The "primitive" label suggests that the focus is more on enjoying the natural environment and basic camping, rather than extensive recreational facilities.

Apple Orchard Primitive Campground Reviews
The campground was well manicured and clean. There was plenty of room at each site. The camp store was cute but a little hard to find as the sign points to a parking lot, but you have to go all the way to the back of it and down a steep embankment. The beach is cute, and the swimming area is pretty wide, but the water doesn't get very deep for an adult. It barely goes over my head and I'm 5'2“.
Aug 09, 2018 · Melissa HExactly as described, great spot to get away for a quiet weekend camping.
Oct 01, 2023 · NickLove pitching a tent here for the weekend with the kids. The trails are awesome, water is awesome, so much beauty in a park. The only drawback is the rocks in the water at the beach. Other than that we always have a great time here
Aug 25, 2022 · Dale BarlowNice inexpensive campground. Campsites are well-spaced. Pit toilets. No showers. Well kept up park. Nice trails. Check out the mile long Marsh Trail accessible from the campground. A lot of wild animals howling at night. I enjoyed my 2 nights here.
Sep 18, 2020 · William BeckThe place was nice and the camping spots were well maintained with near by restrooms that had a little solar light in them. (Helpful when you have to GO in the middle of the night. ) I proposed here to my future bride. Planned to hike this visit but in the morning a storm rolled in so we decided on leaving and IHOP instead.
