Auburn Lake Park Introduce
For local residents in Ohio searching within the "camping near me" category, Auburn Lake Park, situated at 6881 OH-103, Tiro, OH 44887, presents an evolving camping destination with promising developments under new ownership. You can contact them at (419) 492-2110 or their mobile number, +1 419-492-2110, for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer feedback, Auburn Lake Park appears to be undergoing a revitalization, making it a potentially attractive option for local campers seeking a refreshed outdoor experience.
The name "Auburn Lake Park" immediately suggests a key environmental feature: a lake. Lakefront campgrounds often appeal to a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for activities such as fishing, swimming, and simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the water. The presence of a lake typically enhances the overall camping experience, providing a focal point for recreation and relaxation. For local users looking for "camping near me" with water access, Auburn Lake Park is a noteworthy consideration.
Recent feedback indicates that Auburn Lake Park is currently under new ownership, and this transition seems to be bringing about positive changes. One reviewer specifically mentioned that "the new owners are doing a great job refreshing up the park." This suggests an ongoing effort to improve the facilities and overall appeal of the campground. For local campers who may have had prior experiences or perceptions of Auburn Lake Park, these new developments warrant a fresh look.
One of the specific improvements highlighted by a reviewer is the enhancement of the playground area. The addition of "new items to the playground" suggests a focus on catering to families with children. Playgrounds are a significant amenity for family-friendly campgrounds, providing a safe and engaging space for kids to play and socialize. The reviewer also noted that "more to be added over the summer," indicating a continued investment in this area, which could make Auburn Lake Park an even more appealing destination for families seeking "camping near me."
Another positive development under the new ownership is the improvement of the camp store. According to a reviewer, "the store has more items to choice from every time we come down." A well-stocked camp store can significantly enhance the convenience of a camping trip, providing access to essential supplies, snacks, and perhaps even souvenirs without the need to leave the campground. The fact that the inventory is expanding suggests a commitment to better serving the needs of campers.
However, it is important to present a balanced view based on all available information. One earlier review recounts a negative experience involving friends who were allegedly "kicked out with no reason why randomly" and had their belongings stolen and withheld by the former owners. While this review predates the positive feedback about the new ownership, it serves as a reminder that past management issues may have occurred. Potential visitors might want to inquire about the timeline of the ownership change to understand the context of this earlier negative report. It is encouraging to see more recent feedback focusing on the positive improvements being made by the new owners, suggesting a potential turnaround in the campground's management and overall atmosphere.
Given the limited scope of the provided reviews, specific details about other services and features of Auburn Lake Park are not available. Typical campground amenities might include restroom and shower facilities, designated camping sites for tents and RVs, water and electrical hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits. The presence of a lake suggests the possibility of boat rentals, fishing access points, or swimming areas, but these are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. Local users interested in these specific amenities should contact the park directly for more information.
Similarly, there is no promotional information included in the provided text. Local residents looking for deals, seasonal discounts, or any special offers at Auburn Lake Park should inquire directly when making reservations or check the campground's website or social media channels if available. Knowing about any local-specific promotions could further influence a decision to choose Auburn Lake Park for a "camping near me" experience.
In conclusion, Auburn Lake Park in Tiro, Ohio, presents a local camping option that appears to be undergoing positive transformations under new ownership. The presence of a lake is a significant natural attraction, and recent improvements to the playground and the camp store suggest a growing commitment to enhancing the visitor experience. While an older negative review highlights past issues, the more recent feedback focuses on the refreshing changes being implemented. For local users seeking "camping near me," Auburn Lake Park warrants consideration, especially for families who would benefit from the playground amenities and the convenience of an improving camp store. To gain a comprehensive understanding of all available services and any current promotions, direct communication with the campground is recommended.

Auburn Lake Park Reviews
Some of my good friends used to camp here... until they were kicked out with no reason why randomly and their belongings stolen from their camp site and continued to be held from them, the owners acted like they had no clue. Almost started camping here but will be staying far away.
Apr 08, 2025 · Susan SmithThe new owners are doing a great job refreshing up the park. They have add new items to the playground and more to be added over the summer. The store has more items to choice from every time we come down.
Jul 01, 2024 · Annette WilcoxHeading into our 6th summer at permanent campsite!! Our whole family loves it here!! New owners this season, and the improvements that have already been made are phenomenal!! Can't wait to see what else is in store!
Apr 06, 2024 · Aubrey MasonReally nice place. Great friendly staff. Run by a veteran and give a military discount. Camp sites are wide. Have picnic table and fire rings. Lake for fishing and swimming. I did have to move picnic table to get the RV in our spot. Looked like someone had moved them to mow and hadn't moved them back. We will definitely stay again if we come back this way.
Jul 07, 2018 · Jeannie HennigWe have had a permanent spot there for the last 4 years. I don't think we will ever move from there! Some of the best people I've ever met camp there!
