Location and Environment:
Double Springs is located in Winston County, Alabama, a region known for its natural beauty, including its proximity to the Bankhead National Forest. The reviews for Bama Campground & RV Park consistently mention a "beautiful site," indicating that the campground benefits from the scenic surroundings of this area. One reviewer specifically noted that their tent site (#2) was "spacious and set apart from the other sites," suggesting a layout that provides some privacy and a sense of being immersed in nature. The presence of "beautiful trails" to explore further emphasizes the natural appeal of the location, offering opportunities for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Additionally, the mention of a "cave to explore" suggests a unique geological feature that adds to the environmental interest of the area. For local users searching for "camping near me" with picturesque scenery, hiking opportunities, and even the chance for some cave exploration, Bama Campground & RV Park appears to be situated in an attractive natural environment.
Services and Amenities:
Based on the customer reviews, Bama Campground & RV Park offers several key services and amenities. The positive mention of a "helpful host" indicates that guests can expect assistance and support during their stay, particularly in unexpected situations. The availability of both "tent sites" and an "RV park" suggests that the campground caters to different types of campers. The review noting "nice sites, packed level gravel" specifically refers to the RV sites, indicating that they are well-maintained and provide a stable and level surface for parking RVs. The desire of one reviewer to "stay in a cabin next time" implies that cabin rentals are also an accommodation option at the campground, offering a more sheltered and potentially more comfortable stay. While specific details about other amenities like restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or hookups for RVs (electricity, water, sewer) are not explicitly stated in the positive reviews, the negative review does mention a "shower" with a lack of privacy, located near a washer and dryer. This suggests that shower facilities are available, but privacy might be a concern for some guests. To get a comprehensive list of services and amenities, local users should contact Bama Campground & RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers: (844) 922-6746 or +1 844-922-6746. Inquire about the types of campsites and cabins available, the specific amenities at each (including hookups for RVs), the facilities such as restrooms, showers, and laundry, and any other services they offer to ensure a comfortable stay.
Features and Unique Aspects:
Bama Campground & RV Park boasts several unique features that make it an appealing "camping near me" option. The presence of "beautiful trails" provides a significant draw for hikers and nature enthusiasts, allowing guests to explore the surrounding scenic area directly from the campground. The "cave to explore" is an exceptional feature, offering a sense of adventure and a unique activity not commonly found at typical campgrounds. The availability of different accommodation types – tent sites, RV sites with "packed level gravel," and cabins – caters to a wide range of camping preferences. The spaciousness and separation of at least some of the tent sites, as mentioned in one review, can enhance the feeling of privacy and immersion in nature. However, one negative aspect mentioned is that "some equipment on edges of campsites take away from beauty of the place." This suggests that while the overall location is beautiful, some areas within the campsites might have equipment or storage that detracts from the aesthetic appeal. Local users should consider the balance of these features when planning their stay.

Customer Reviews and Considerations:
The provided customer reviews offer a mixed but generally positive initial impression of Bama Campground & RV Park. The positive reviews highlight the spacious and private tent sites, the helpfulness of the host, the beautiful location, the well-maintained RV sites, and the exciting features like trails and a cave. These aspects suggest a campground with a lot of potential for a pleasant outdoor experience. However, the negative review points out two areas of concern: the presence of "some equipment on edges of campsites" that detracts from the beauty and the lack of privacy in the shower facilities. The comment about the shower being located near the washer and dryer and lacking privacy is a significant point for potential guests to consider, especially families with children or individuals who value privacy. As a local user considering this "camping near me" option, it's important to weigh these points. The beautiful location and unique features like the cave and trails are strong positives, but the issues with campsite aesthetics and shower privacy should be taken into account based on your personal preferences and needs.

Bama Campground & RV Park Reviews
We Stayed at the #2 tent site. The site was spacious and set apart from the other sites. The host was very helpful when we got in a situation. The campground is in a beautiful site and it has great potential. I want to stay in a cabin next time.
May 02, 2025 · Denise McClendonNice sites, packed level gravel.Beautiful trails and cave to explore. Some equipment on edges of campsites take away from beauty of the place. Also, the shower has no privacy, you dry off near washer & dryer ~ something to keep in mind if your kids are shy.
Apr 15, 2025 · Michael Shaffer86 acres + a national Forest to explore! Everything was neat, clean & quiet. We actually rented a camper, but I wouldn't have minded pulling my own. The spots were clear and well spaced, easy to get in & out of. There are washers/dryers available. We loved that the center of the campground had been cleared for a beautiful view of the night sky, perfect for stargazing and meteor shower chasing. It was quiet & out of the way with minimal noise or light pollution, but there was still enough ground lighting to find your way around. We felt very safe.
Nov 26, 2024 · Brett Ragland4 of us stayed in the stargazer 1. It was a great stay. It dropped to the low 50's at night. The heater kept the place quit comfortable. The property was beautiful. The trails were not difficult to hike on and well maintained. The best part had to be the staff and their hospitality. They were very friendly and took care of everything we needed promptly. The store even had some last minute supplies at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a getaway into nature.
Oct 29, 2024 · Daniel CurbowOur campground host was very accommodating. I stayed in the glamping tent and had all the amenities I needed plus some. It was a beautiful setup. We enjoyed all the outdoor seating and loved having a grill to cook at night. I plan to stay again very soon!
