Lakeshore Cabins & RV Reviews
I stayed at Lakeshore Cabins and RV during a recent training event in the Jasper area. The cabins are cozy and situated on beautiful Smith Lake. The rates are exceptionally reasonable for the experience offered. Check-in and check-out were super simple and the entire area is very clean and quiet. I would absolutely stay here again any time I’m in Jasper and highly recommend to anyone looking for a little getaway.
Apr 15, 2025 · Brendon MurphyI slept on it, to think about how to phrase this review. I was sitting on the front porch of my cabin EARLY yesterday morning in my pajamas, drinking my tea, when a lady approached me from behind. She startled me.She aggressively interrogated me about who I was, why I was staying there. I asked her who she was, and she said “an owner.” We checked into the cabin Friday night yet she waited until Sunday morning to tell me and my family that we were in the wrong cabin.Astonished, I woke up my husband to go talk to her, since she was demanding information and he had booked the trip. Apparently, her dad is the owner and he had a miscommunication with my husband about the wrong cabin number. We were in Cabin 8 (which was unlocked at check in) but they wanted us in Cabin 7.Mix up or not, the lady’s hospitality was missing. Having worked at two Hampton Inn hotels during college, I know that when there’s confusion about a reservation, the hotel or cabin staff should be more cordial and make the guest feel at home. I did nothing wrong and felt verbally uncomfortable while she was questioning me in my pajamas early in the morning.I want to return there, hoping the quiet enjoyment will not be violated by an angry staffer while I’m still shaking off the spiderwebs of slumber from the evening before, feeling vulnerable in my pjs. Maybe next time will be different and more peaceful.A/C was super cold and the smart tv was handy. The fridge and freezer were also really cold.EDIT: I forgot to add that the boat ramp left much to be desired, as we had to wade in the muddy water when our friend’s boat came to pick us up and drop us off. It was dark, hard to see, and my husband fell in the water near the boat ramp Saturday night.
Jul 01, 2024 · Mar JamThis is one of my two favorite places to stay on Smith Lake. The cabins are so nice and always clean. The views are spectacular and the proprietors are always so welcoming. Love this place!
Nov 06, 2023 · CarmenExcellent caretakers and the location is extraordinary! I would definitely recommend!
Apr 02, 2025 · James SweeneyThis was a MUCH needed time away. The cabin that we rented wasn't extravagant. You had to provide everything you may need from bathroom, bedding, and to the kitchen. We were fine with this.We did have a few minor things that happened. The owner(s) were very prompt to make sure that our stay was great. Our A/C unit was froze over (our last night there) and they just had it fixed a few days prior, fortunately Charlie Jr was there within 10 minutes to fix it with a little unit to ease our stay. There was a dog lose, turns out it was the neighbors dog, but the owners are very tentative. As soon as I messaged the owner, the son came about 5-10 minutes after that on our first night there to make sure the dog wasn't bothering us and tried to get Marley (the white creamy colored dog) to go home.Other than these minor set backs it was a WONDERFUL stay. You have the beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding cabins are very nice. There is a little boat dock and small playground for children too. They have their own little bonfire, picnic table and grills at each station. If you need a weekend away that doesn't cost a fortune, this is a great place.
