Barksdale AFB FamCamp Reviews
We've stayed here several times because we have family in the area. Customer service is good but the cleanliness and overall condition leave a bit to be desired. The grass is very high, especially around water/electric hookup. The AC in the restrooms and laundry area were either turned off or not working. The laundry room had not been cleaned in a while and one of the washers was out of order. The washer has apparently been needing a part for quite a while as the notes on it looked old. We'll probably be back just because of the cost and convenience but we were disappointed with the overall condition of things.
Jul 03, 2023 · Deana WatkinsGood RV park, though it's about a 13 minute drive around the flight line from the main part of the base. Commercial gate was closed so we had to enter through main gate where security may have to move barriers for long rigs, as they did for a fellow RVer. Park consists of an older park and a newer adjacent open-spaced park with level concrete pads. Dirt roads have pot holes. Confusing to get around - better signage would help. There is as an adequate laundry room. Base exchange has a food court and Starbucks. If on a short stay, recommend the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, a 15 drive from base. It's a modern shopping area on the Red River.
Jun 06, 2023 · Erny HarringtonMy wife and I stayed on site 50 for a week visiting with our daughter and son-in-law. The concrete pad was large enough for our 30’ travel trailer and tow vehicle. The full hook ups worked without issue, the grounds were well maintained, the environment was quiet and peaceful and the price inexpensive. The Barksdale Famcamp comes well recommend
Dec 05, 2023 · Ralph FreemanA little confusing when you follow Google's directions and enter a narrow roadway and cannot see an office, but do see two prominent signs on either side of the road - one says OFF DUTY HOST and the other says ON DUTY HOST. Yup, you guessed it, I parked my RV and toad (75' in total) right there and knocked on rhe trailer door of the ON DUTY HOST. No answer, but a nice neighbor told me I could find the office about 75' up the road. The two staff members were GREAT - professional, pleasant, personable, and helpful. I was directed to the RV park in the next entrance down the road and WOW! 24 spacious, clean and well maintained concrete leveled pads with a concrete slab for your tow vehicle. The bathhouse is the cleanist, neatest, airconditioned shower and toilet area EVER! Only staying 1 night now, but will definitely be back. Well done Barksdale AFB!!!
Oct 02, 2019 · David FriedbergWe stayed overnight at Barksdale AFB famcamp in a 36’ 5th wheel trailer at site 44 in the new side. Gaining access was easy through the commercial gate, no hassle at all. We had a reservation for site 46 but when we arrived it was occupied so I had to go to the office located in the old side. The office seemed kind of chaotic, one person trying to deal with people while the phone was constantly ringing and reservation slips piled everywhere. I didn’t intend to leave the post but the AFEES gas station doesn’t have diesel. The sites on the new side are all pull through with a concrete parking pad and patio. All hook ups were in good condition. I had 2 bars of cell signal there with AT&T. There is a laundry room, restroom and showers at the new side and it was clean. This location is close to the interstate making it a good overnight stay on a trip. I’d stay there again.
