Based on recent customer reviews, this family-owned and clean facility provides a welcoming atmosphere and essential amenities for RV travelers. Whether you're looking for a daily, weekly, or monthly lot, Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm might be the ideal spot for your needs. This detailed introduction will delve into the environment, services, and features of this RV park, providing you with the information you need to decide if it's the right choice for your "camping near me" search.
The Tranquil Farm Setting: Environment of Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm
Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm is situated in a unique environment – the backyard of a working farm. This setting offers a sense of tranquility and a departure from typical commercial campgrounds. While the reviews mention that the lots themselves have no trees, the overall environment is described as quiet and scenic. Being located on a farm suggests the potential for open spaces, rural views, and a peaceful atmosphere. You might experience the sights and sounds of farm life, although the reviews primarily emphasize the quiet nature of the RV park itself.
One important environmental factor to note is the proximity to train tracks. Reviews indicate that a train passes by approximately eight times a day and blows its horn before reaching the RV park. However, one reviewer mentioned that with the air conditioner running, the train was barely audible, and another described it as "whimsical" and "not loud at all." This suggests that while the train is a presence, it may not be overly disruptive, especially for those accustomed to some ambient noise or those using air conditioning. The well-spaced lots likely contribute to the quiet and private feel of the park.
Essential Amenities for RV Living: Services at Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm
Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm offers several key services and amenities that cater to the needs of RV travelers, particularly those seeking a comfortable and convenient stay:
- Well-Spaced RV Lots: The reviews highlight that the lots are well-spaced, providing a sense of privacy and roominess for RV setups. This is a significant advantage over more crowded RV parks.
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Lots: Offering flexibility in stay durations caters to a variety of needs, whether you're passing through for a night, working on a local project for a week, or seeking a longer-term temporary residence.
- 24-Hour Shower/Bathroom Area: Access to clean and open-around-the-clock shower and bathroom facilities is a crucial amenity for RVers, providing convenience and comfort.
- 24-Hour Laundry Area: The availability of on-site laundry facilities open 24 hours a day is a significant benefit, especially for those on longer stays, allowing them to manage their laundry needs conveniently.
- Pull-Through Lots (Limited): The mention of a couple of pull-through spots is advantageous for larger rigs, making parking and departure easier.
- Pet-Friendly: One reviewer specifically mentioned that the park is "dog approved," indicating that pets are welcome, which is a significant factor for many RV travelers.
- Family-Owned and Well-Kept: The fact that the park is family-owned often translates to a more personal touch and a greater sense of care in maintenance and management, as echoed in the "well kept and clean" comment.
- Helpful Host: The positive mention of Jerry, the host, as "a hoot" and "full of stories and personality" suggests a friendly and welcoming management, enhancing the overall experience.
While the reviews don't mention specific hookups like water, electricity, or sewer at each site, the fact that it's an RV park implies that these essential services are likely available. However, it would be prudent to confirm the specifics of the hookups (e.g., 30/50 amp electrical service, water pressure, sewer connections) when booking.
Key Features and Considerations: What to Expect
Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm offers a unique blend of features that make it stand out for those searching for "camping near me" with an RV:

- Long-Term Stay Options: The availability of monthly rates makes it suitable for those working in the area or seeking an extended RV stay.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Welcoming dogs is a significant plus for RVers traveling with pets.
However, there are a couple of considerations to keep in mind:
- No Trees: The lack of trees on the lots might mean less shade, which could be a factor during hot weather.
- Train Proximity: While the train noise seems minimal for most, light sleepers might want to be aware of the train schedule and the horn.
- Tight Turn for Large Rigs: Owners of very large RVs (like a 41’ fifth wheel with a dually truck) should be aware that the entrance and exit might involve a tight turn, although it is reported as "totally doable."

Trailerhood At Sumrall Farm Reviews
Quiet little RV park located in the backyard of a farm. Family owned, well kept and clean. The lots are well spaced and there are no trees. Offers daily, weekly and monthly lots. It looks like their are 19 spots with a couple being pull-through. There is shower/bathroom and laundry area open 24 hours a day. The property is across from train tracks and the train came through around 8 times a day for about 1 minute and it does blow its horn right before reaching the RV Park. I had my air conditioner running and barely heard it. We stayed here with a 41’ fifth wheel and a F-350 dually truck. It’s a tight turn to get in to and out of RV park but it’s totally doable.
Oct 21, 2020 · Radar Road WarriorsHad a great week-long stay at Trailerhood while working in Mansfield for a project. Quiet, scenic, and everyone was nice—especially Jerry! What a hoot, full of stories and personality. Wonderful host. We appreciated the on-site laundry and private shower! Trains pass by a couple times a day, but it makes all the more whimsical. Not loud at all. And lots of roomy space for our rig! Dog approved as well. ;) we’ll be comin’ back.
May 13, 2022 · Mads HannaQuiet RV Campground!! Great campground for quick overnight or extended stay. Owner is friendly and very helpful. If you stop by during the summer they have a garden and owner will let you pick if you ask. There is a Dollar General 1 mile down the road and a Truck Stop 4 miles away if you need supplies or fuelEasy access from Insterstate 49. They have sites to accommodate RV’s from small trailers to to large class A. All sites are Full Hookup with 30/50 amp power. They also allow tent camping at a few sites. Pets are welcome.
Jul 17, 2021 · Stephen Posey IIWas most probably a really nice place at one time, pretty setting. Unfortunately had not been kept up and cleaned up. Bathroom was really bad. Hopefully will be taken care of in the future.
