In terms of services, the reviews provide some insights. One camper specifically praised the campground host for being "so kind and helpful," suggesting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere managed by attentive staff. While the campground is described as "rustic" and "smaller," it still prioritizes cleanliness, as evidenced by the remarkable condition of the pit toilets, which one visitor claimed were "the cleanest I've EVER seen anywhere." However, it's important to note one limitation mentioned by a reviewer: "there are no showers here, so plan accordingly." Bear Lake Campground Reviews
Beautiful campground and lake. The host was so kind and helpful. The pit toilets were the cleanest I've EVER seen anywhere. Nearby was a trail to the Rat River that I highly recommend. It was so beautiful. We will be visiting here again and again. The only downside is that there are no showers here, so plan accordingly.
Oct 03, 2024 · Cindy LouTranquil, rustic, smaller campground. Nice trail for walking or biking across the street that goes several miles along old logging railroad by the Rat River.
Aug 16, 2024 · Chris HortonDefinately a hidden gem in Northern Wisconsin. Perfect place to camp. Small campground, no motor lake, small campsites so no monstrous campers can fit. Toilets and campsites are super clean. Views are great, it is mostly quiet, and peaceful. Next to boondocking in the wild this place is the place to be. I will be back again.
Aug 07, 2023 · Arthur M AndersonLoved it so much even on a chilly night. Our site was right on the water with steps to get down to the shore. Very quiet an peaceful in the woods. Heard and saw some loons! Clean bathrooms. We will definitely be back. Great place to reconnect with nature.
Jun 25, 2021 · Melanie SculleyIn late September we had almost the whole place to ourselves. No cell coverage, so be prepared to drive into Laona if you need to make a call. Grocery wasn't very close - about 30 minutes away. The house next door to the entrance of the park sells firewood for $4 per cord; the best price in the area. The park itself was gorgeous and quiet. The tent sites on the peninsula we're well maintained and all sites have lake access; some maybe even enough to launch a kayak or canoe. The boat launch itself is easy to access though. I wish we'd had an opportunity to fish, but lake was quiet even with residential on the other side of the lake.
