Bear Ridge Campground Introduce
For local users in the Templeton, Pennsylvania, area searching for "camping near me," Bear Ridge Campground, located at 345 Mt Trails Rd, Templeton, PA 16259, USA, offers a camping option with cabin rentals. You can contact them at (724) 822-6521 or their mobile number +1 724-822-6521. Based on recent customer reviews, it’s important for potential visitors to be aware of both the positive and negative aspects of this campground to make an informed decision.
The environment surrounding Bear Ridge Campground is likely characterized by the natural beauty of rural Pennsylvania. Situated on Mt Trails Rd in Templeton, it suggests a location within a more secluded or mountainous area, potentially offering scenic views and a quieter, more rustic camping experience. The name "Bear Ridge" itself hints at a natural setting, possibly with wooded areas and the potential for wildlife sightings. For local users seeking an escape into nature, this aspect of the campground could be appealing.
In terms of services and features, the available reviews provide contrasting perspectives. One reviewer who stayed with a large group in a Fifth Wheel reported several challenges related to RV camping. They noted that the roads leading to and within the campground were "horrible" and "not RV friendly" due to awkward angles. This is a significant consideration for those planning to bring larger recreational vehicles. The same reviewer also mentioned virtually non-existent Verizon cell service and power issues where the main breaker repeatedly tripped, suggesting potential limitations for those relying on connectivity or substantial electrical needs. Additionally, the review indicated that the "pond area" of the park might not be suitable for many large rigs and that their site was unlevel with no gravel base, making leveling difficult. These points suggest that while the natural environment might be attractive, the infrastructure for larger RVs may need improvement.
On the other hand, a different reviewer had a positive experience staying in cabin number 10. They described the cabin as "adorable, comfortable, and so much fun," and mentioned staying there at least once, sometimes twice a year. This suggests that the cabin rentals at Bear Ridge Campground offer a more positive and enjoyable experience for those not traveling in RVs. The reviewer also specifically praised the owners as being "absolutely lovely and go out of their way to take care of us every time," highlighting a significant positive aspect of the campground's hospitality and customer service.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the features of Bear Ridge Campground likely include both RV sites and cabin rentals. The experience for RV campers, particularly those with larger rigs, may be less satisfactory due to road conditions, site levelness, power reliability, and cell service limitations, at least according to one recent review. However, the availability of "adorable" and "comfortable" cabins, coupled with friendly and helpful owners, suggests a more positive experience for those opting for cabin stays.
It's important for local users considering Bear Ridge Campground to weigh these factors based on their specific camping needs and preferences. If you are planning to camp in a smaller vehicle or are interested in renting a cabin, the positive feedback regarding the cabin quality and the owner's hospitality could make it a worthwhile option. However, if you plan to bring a large RV and rely on good road access, stable power, and reliable Verizon cell service, the negative experiences reported by another reviewer should be taken into serious consideration.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific offers or discounts. It is common for campgrounds to have seasonal rates, weekend specials, or potentially discounts for local residents. To inquire about any current promotions at Bear Ridge Campground, local users should directly contact them at the provided phone numbers: (724) 822-6521 or +1 724-822-6521. Asking about any deals for local campers or for stays during specific times of the year could help in making a more budget-friendly decision.
In conclusion, Bear Ridge Campground in Templeton, PA, offers a camping option with the potential for a pleasant natural environment and positive experiences, particularly for those interested in cabin rentals. The owners are noted for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, potential RV campers, especially those with larger rigs, should be aware of reported issues concerning road access, site levelness, power reliability, and cell service. Local users are advised to contact the campground directly to inquire about site availability, specific amenities for RVs or cabins, and any current promotional offers to ensure it meets their individual needs and expectations for a local camping getaway.

Bear Ridge Campground Reviews
Roads to get to the campground are horrible and the roads to access the campground are even worse. They have an awkward angle and not rv friendly. Cell service for Verizon is virtually non existent. Stayed with a large group and had power issues where the main breaker kept tripping. Park is not able to handle many large rigs in the pond area. Site was very unlevel and had no gravel, so trailer did not have a solid base to level. In general the park really needs some attention. Owner is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Bear Ridge in a Fifth Wheel.
Aug 13, 2024 · Pedal PowerWe stay in cabin 10 at Bear Ridge at least for once, sometimes twice a year. It’s adorable, comfortable, and so much fun! The owners are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to take care of us every time.❤️
Mar 31, 2024 · Kimberly BrockwayWe love coming to Bear Ridge! We come every year and sometimes twice if we can. It's beautiful and very peaceful. The owners and other staff are very welcoming.
Jun 11, 2024 · Melissa DickinsonWonderful, peaceful place with great views. The Armstrong Trails are nearby and my wife and I were able to enjoy two days of biking on these beautiful rail trails along the Allegheny River. Staff is very friendly and we enjoyed our time here.
Jul 14, 2023 · Dave DownerWe spent some time with our best friend who have a site. We see this site as a great place to visit, and have no interest in a permanent site. We were told by other site owners it is really difficult getting into permanent sites.
