Beechwood Acres Camping Resort Introduce
For local residents seeking a visually appealing 'camping near me' experience, Beechwood Acres Camping Resort, located at 855 Yankee Rd in Wilmington, Ohio, offers beautifully landscaped grounds and a laid-back atmosphere. Based on recent customer reviews, this resort presents a mixed experience, excelling in its aesthetic appeal and social vibe while having some limitations in amenities and noise control. If you prioritize a visually attractive setting and enjoy a lively environment, Beechwood Acres might be worth considering for your local camping getaway.
The environment of Beechwood Acres Camping Resort is consistently praised for its beauty. Reviewers describe the grounds as "beautiful" and the landscaping as "immaculate." The resort takes pride in its floral displays, well-maintained grounds, and mature trees, creating a visually pleasing and potentially shady environment for campers. The overall ambiance seems to be one of care and attention to the aesthetic aspects of the property. However, it's important to note that while the general grounds are lovely, one reviewer pointed out that the swimming pool is smaller than it appears in pictures, being more akin to a backyard pool with a maximum depth of only five feet. Despite its size, the pool area is described as "nice." The presence of a pavilion where live music is occasionally hosted suggests a social and engaging environment within the resort.
The services at Beechwood Acres Camping Resort include a swimming pool, although its size may be smaller than expected. The pool area allows alcohol consumption and the use of floats, which were appreciated by at least one visitor. Live music is featured on some nights, adding to the resort's laid-back vibe. However, a significant limitation mentioned is the availability of only "one bathroom for the entire campgrounds." This is a critical factor for potential campers to consider, especially given that the resort reportedly does not allow the use of black hoses/tanks for RVs, making the single bathroom facility the primary option. Another significant service limitation reported is the lack of cell phone signal and the absence of Wi-Fi, despite what one reviewer considered a "ridiculous price per night." This lack of connectivity could be a drawback for campers who need to stay in touch or rely on internet access during their stay. While propane hookups are mentioned for RV sites in another campground review on the same platform, this specific review of Beechwood Acres does not confirm this amenity.
Several features contribute to the overall experience at Beechwood Acres Camping Resort. The beautifully landscaped grounds are a standout feature, creating a pleasant and visually appealing camping environment. The laid-back vibe, as mentioned by one reviewer, suggests a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The allowance of alcohol and floats at the pool, along with the occasional live music, indicates a more social and less restrictive environment compared to some campgrounds. However, the potential for noise due to the apparent lack of enforced quiet hours is a feature that could be either a positive or a negative depending on individual preferences. The issue with permanent campers occupying pool chairs for extended periods, making it difficult for other guests to find seating, is another feature to be aware of. The limited cell phone signal and lack of Wi-Fi are also notable features that could impact the camping experience for some.
Currently, no specific promotional information is included in the provided reviews. Local users interested in potential discounts, seasonal rates, or any special offers at Beechwood Acres Camping Resort should contact them directly at (937) 289-2202 or +1 937-289-2202. It would be advisable to inquire about their pricing structure, reservation policies, and any potential fees for amenities. Given the reviewer's comment about the "ridiculous price per night" without Wi-Fi, it would be prudent to get a clear understanding of the costs involved before booking. Asking about quiet time policies and the availability and location of bathroom facilities relative to campsites would also be beneficial.
For local residents considering Beechwood Acres Camping Resort for their 'camping near me' needs, it's essential to weigh the positive aspects, such as the beautiful landscaping and laid-back atmosphere, against the potential drawbacks, including the smaller-than-pictured pool, the limited bathroom facilities, the lack of cell service and Wi-Fi, and the potential for noise at night. The issue with pool chair availability due to long-term campers is also a factor to consider if pool time is a priority. Contacting the resort directly for more detailed information about their amenities, policies, and pricing will help local users make an informed decision.
The address, 855 Yankee Rd, Wilmington, OH 45177, USA, positions Beechwood Acres Camping Resort within a reasonable distance for residents of Wilmington and the surrounding areas looking for local camping options. The visual appeal of the grounds, as consistently mentioned, suggests that it could be a pleasant place to spend time outdoors. However, the reported limitations in essential amenities like bathroom facilities and connectivity need to be carefully considered based on individual camping preferences and requirements.
In conclusion, Beechwood Acres Camping Resort offers a visually attractive 'camping near me' option with beautifully landscaped grounds and a relaxed vibe. The pool area, while smaller than expected, allows for alcohol and floats, and live music is occasionally featured. However, potential local campers should be aware of the reported limitations, including the single bathroom facility for the entire campground, the lack of cell phone signal and Wi-Fi, and the potential for noise due to the apparent absence of enforced quiet hours. The issue of pool chair availability due to permanent campers is also a factor to consider. Direct contact with the resort is recommended to obtain detailed information about amenities, pricing, and policies before making a reservation to ensure it aligns with your expectations for a local camping experience.

Beechwood Acres Camping Resort Reviews
This was our first time camping here. The grounds were beautiful, the landscaping is immaculate. Everything is beautiful as far as the flowers, the grounds, and the trees. The pool is not nearly as big as it looks in the pictures. It’s the size of a swimming pool that you would have in your own backyard, the deepest end is only 5 feet. The swimming pool area is nice. However, you have to make sure that you get there early if you want a chair because the permanent campers definitely make it difficult to get a place to sit. They get there early and place their towels on the chairs and camp out there all day. They do allow alcohol at the pool and there’s good music playing, they also allow floats in the pool, which we really liked. It says online that the pool is heated, which it was not, not really a big deal considering it was so hot when we went but I thought it was strange that it was advertised as heated. As far as we can tell there is no quiet time. People were partying well into the early hours of the morning. There is one bathroom for the entire campgrounds. Crazy considering they won’t allow you to use your black hose/tank. Last but certainly not least, do not expect to have a signal of any kind on your cell phone. And although you pay a ridiculous price per night they do not provide WiFi.
Jul 09, 2024 · Chrissie ChaneyExcellent campground. Laid back vibe, beautifully landscaped, plenty of shade. Live music one of the nights under a nice pavilion. Clean, large pool with shaded area and tables. My only complaint is the size of the lot overall, if we hadn't been next to family we would have been a bit squeezed but other than that - lovely!
Jul 16, 2024 · Casey MarlarBooked over the phone without issue, very pleasant actually. Arrived at campground with easy check in at front office. Was given a map with directions to campsite, here is where I had trouble. The map is misleading on where to go, I missed my turn, had to back up 43’ of camper to make the turn while a permanent resident stood and watched me knowing that I missed the turn and did not even offer a “hey it’s back there, what spot are you looking for?” Most permanent campers are usually an advocate for the campground, this individual…absolutely not. Continuing on to my site I came up to multiple huge trees and a narrow road that is supposed to lead me to my spot, this is not a place you want to have 43’ of camper and no one watching what your doing, (escort to the site at this time would be nice) I get in and out about 6-8 times making sure I don’t hit anything, to my surprise here is another permanent camper just standing there just staring and not even offering to watch trees from his vantage point. Either way it’s my camper and my responsibility. I found my site and was able to get it after a few tries, nothing crazy. However it had trash all over from the previous campers, not an issue, I cleaned it up. There was no fire pit, i kindly asked for one and the gentleman that got it for me was more than pleasant and greeted me. As the stay went one we found out that the permanent campers are very un welcoming of guests. We tried to talk to a few and was given the cold shoulder. There is an obvious division of guests and permanent campers. We took a walk around the campground with our dog and while walking past site 27 the owners there had an unleashed dog that charged my family and our leashed dog. The dog was aggressively coming after us, it was being called back by owners who chose to make typical crappy comments like “it’s nice” “ it won’t hurt you” I don’t know you dog and how it acts. As we were walking away the owners said “we didn’t know anyone would walk down here at night” mind me it was 830-900pm. The leash rule is mentioned multiple times around the campground, we were following the rules. Our neighbors arrived and had two dogs, one on a leash that allowed it to visit our site “yes the leash was that long” and I advised the neighbor that we had a large dog and I was concerned for both dogs safety. The other dog they had was unleashed, I had to return it to them and mention that it was wondering into our site. Long story short, it’s a well kept campground, the pool is nice, the staff is friendly, but if they do not change the the atmosphere people will start leaving more negative reviews.** there are no full hookups either, only grey water drains, you will need a cap with a garden hose adapter to drain grey water**Also worth a mention is the dump station is in a terrible spot, and you must make multiple turns to get into it.I would give a higher review but the atmosphere and permanent campers ruined the trip for our family, so much so that we left Sunday instead of Tuesday.
May 29, 2024 · Trent PhippsWe go 3 times a year. Lots of kid activities and Adult games to. Heated pool is awesome. We love it!
Nov 03, 2024 · William LawwillThis is one of the nicest campgrounds my family and I have ever been to. Out of all the campgrounds we have visited in Ohio this is one of the cleanest and well maintained parks available. The shower houses are clean and the restrooms are constantly maintained to insure they are also clean and well stocked. The staff are always setting up events and bands to provide entertainment to campers. The other campers are friendly and inclusive too! The pool is great, good for kids and adults to cool off on hot days. Overall I would highly recommend Beechwood Acres to anyone. Whether you have small kids or just adults you'll have a good time.
