Cedar Point Group Campground Introduce
If you're a local resident in the Waynesville, Ohio area searching for "camping near me," particularly if you're looking for a group camping site, Cedar Point Group Campground, located on Old Clarksville Rd, Waynesville, OH 45068, USA, presents an option to consider. You can reach them at (513) 897-3055 or their mobile number +1 513-897-3055 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer reviews, Cedar Point Group Campground offers a "really nice group site" and also features cabin rentals, suggesting it caters to different types of group accommodations. However, the reviews also highlight some significant drawbacks related to the interaction with day-use visitors.
The environment of Cedar Point Group Campground appears to be situated in a location that attracts various types of visitors, including hikers, swimmers, and fishers, in addition to campers. One reviewer describes it as a place where "random people hiking and using the area are going to walk through your camp all day long, all night long." This suggests that the group campsite might be located within or adjacent to an area with public access trails or recreational areas, leading to a lack of separation between reserved camping spaces and general day-use areas. While the natural surroundings might be appealing, as implied by the potential for fishing mentioned in one review ("Check out Four Fins Fishing on YouTube for fishing adventures around Ohio"), the lack of clear boundaries or rules seems to impact the privacy and tranquility of the group camping experience. Another reviewer who rented a cabin for Halloween fun found it to be a good time, indicating that different parts of the campground might offer varying environments or experiences.
In terms of services, Cedar Point Group Campground offers at least one "really nice group site" suitable for larger parties. They also have cabin rentals available, as mentioned by a reviewer who stayed in one for a Halloween event. This suggests that the campground can accommodate different group sizes and preferences, from those who prefer cabin lodging to those who need a larger area for tent or RV camping. One significant concern raised in a review is the impact of day-use visitors on the facilities reserved for campers. The reviewer notes that "day use people are going to absolutely wreck your group campsite restroom," implying that the restrooms intended for group campers are not exclusively used by them and are potentially being misused or left in poor condition by others. On a more positive note, a reviewer who rented a cabin gave a "HUGE shout out to the staff inside the campground store and check in area" for going "out of their way to help my daughter," indicating that the staff is friendly and helpful. This suggests that while there might be issues with the management of day-use visitors respecting campers, the on-site staff is responsive and accommodating.
The features of Cedar Point Group Campground include a dedicated "really nice group site," which likely offers ample space for a larger number of tents or RVs, as well as communal areas for group activities. The availability of cabin rentals is another key feature, providing a more sheltered and potentially more comfortable accommodation option, as experienced by the Halloween cabin renters. However, a significant issue highlighted is the lack of rules or enforcement regarding the interaction between day-use visitors and group campers. The reviewer explicitly states, "There are no rules or anything posted regarding day use people to respect the group campers." This lack of clear guidelines leads to problems such as non-campers walking through campsites, misuse of restrooms, and disruptive behavior like "driving around the circle blasting their radio or yelling without any regard for your camp reservation." The fact that "random people camped out in the woods behind us during our reservation also" raises concerns about the security and exclusivity of the reserved camping areas. While the potential for fishing in the area (as suggested by the YouTube channel recommendation) might be a feature of the broader location, it doesn't directly address the features of the campground itself.
From a promotional perspective for local users searching "camping near me" and specifically looking for group camping, Cedar Point Group Campground could initially highlight its "really nice group site" and the availability of cabin rentals for group outings. The friendly and helpful staff mentioned in one review could also be promoted as a positive aspect of the campground. However, it would be crucial for the campground to address the significant concerns raised about the lack of respect from day-use visitors to ensure a positive experience for paying campers. Promotional materials should ideally mention any efforts being made to improve the separation between camping areas and day-use areas and to establish and enforce rules that ensure the privacy and comfort of campers. For cabin rentals, the positive experience of the Halloween renters could be highlighted, especially for those looking for a themed or more comfortable group stay. If the campground has specific amenities for group camping, such as large fire pits or communal gathering spaces, these should also be promoted.
To provide an objective introduction, it is essential to weigh the positive aspects (nice group site, cabin rentals, friendly staff) against the significant negative feedback regarding the intrusion and disrespect from day-use visitors due to a perceived lack of rules or enforcement. Local users considering Cedar Point Group Campground for group camping need to be aware of the potential for disruptions from non-campers. While the group site itself might be well-maintained and suitable for large parties, the overall camping experience could be compromised by the constant presence and behavior of day-use visitors. The cabin rentals seem to offer a more positive and controlled experience, as suggested by the Halloween review. Therefore, the type of accommodation (group site vs. cabin) might significantly influence the overall satisfaction. Prospective campers should directly inquire about the campground's policies regarding day-use visitors and the measures taken to ensure the privacy and comfort of those who have reserved camping spaces.
In conclusion, Cedar Point Group Campground in Waynesville, Ohio, offers a group camping site and cabin rentals that have the potential to be enjoyable, as indicated by the positive remarks about the group site itself and the cabin experience. The staff is also noted to be friendly and helpful. However, a significant drawback is the reported lack of separation and rules concerning day-use visitors, which can lead to intrusions, misuse of facilities, and disruptive behavior within the group camping area. For local users searching for "camping near me," especially for group camping, it is crucial to be aware of these potential issues. Those considering Cedar Point Group Campground should contact them directly at (513) 897-3055 or +1 513-897-3055 to inquire about the specific location of the group site relative to day-use areas, the rules in place to protect campers, and any recent changes or improvements in managing visitor interactions. The cabin rentals might offer a more controlled and positive experience, but it's still advisable to ask about their specific amenities and location within the campground.

Cedar Point Group Campground Reviews
Really nice group site BUT.........Random people hiking and using the area are going to walk through your camp all day long, all night long, day use people are going to absolutely wreck your group campsite restroom and drive around the circle blasting their radio or yelling without any regard for your camp reservation.Random people camped out in the woods behind us during our reservation also.Would be such a wonderful camping spot but people hiking the trails or there to swim and fish will be coming right through the middle of your camp non stop. There are no rules or anything posted regarding day use people to respect the group campers.Might stay again sometime in the future, might not.Check out Four Fins Fishing on YouTube for fishing adventures around Ohio
Dec 12, 2024 · Karl WolfThis weekend we rented a cabin for Halloween fun. We had such a good time. I want to give a HUGE shout out to the staff inside the campground store and check in area! Today they went out of their way to help my daughter! Thank you! You all JAM 💐✌️
Sep 24, 2023 · Keetha ClinganVery nice camp site. Shelter with plenty of tables, fire pit, 2 grills, lantern hook?, bathrooms (not bad for a park), garbage can, parking lot, access to the perimeter trail, plenty of room to put up tents in the "infield", and a lovely little shore area at the very end of the peninsula about 100 yards down the path near the shelter. We would definitely stay at this site again. Lots of people driving and walking through so don't leave anything out (a grill was stolen from a neighboring site while they were hiking).
Jun 20, 2016 · John CA favorite group camp site. The only real downside is that this location has gotten more and more popular over the years, so there's a lot of people walking through your campsite, especially on weekends.
