Fifty Springs Group Campground Introduce
Looking for a rustic and scenic group camping experience in Ohio? Fifty Springs Group Campground, located on OH-73 in Waynesville, OH 45068, offers a natural retreat with opportunities for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. You can reach them at (513) 897-3055 or +1 513-897-3055 for inquiries and group reservations.
Based on the available customer reviews, Fifty Springs Group Campground is situated in a "great rustic area," appealing to those who appreciate a more natural and less developed camping environment. The surrounding landscape seems to be a key feature, with mentions of the "50 Springs trail" and a "rustic trail" that is described as "easily 5 kilometers around the peninsula and very scenic." These trails suggest that the campground is ideal for hiking enthusiasts and those who enjoy exploring the outdoors on foot. The presence of "little trails that go to the water" further enhances the scenic value and provides opportunities to connect with the natural water features of the area.
One reviewer specifically mentioned hiking the 50 Springs trail for the first time and noted that while they were able to navigate it successfully and avoid the perimeter trail, they "felt a little unclear." This suggests that while the trail is accessible, it might benefit from clearer signage or trail markings. However, the overall experience was positive, as they concluded with "We had fun!" indicating that the beauty and natural appeal of the area outweighed any minor wayfinding challenges.
The campground offers a "huge pavilion," which is a significant feature for group camping. A large pavilion provides a covered space for gatherings, communal meals, and activities, making it an ideal central point for larger groups staying at the campground. This amenity adds to the suitability of Fifty Springs as a "group campground," offering a dedicated area for social interaction and group events.
Accessibility to the campground appears to be well-maintained, with "nicely maintained paved road access" mentioned in one of the reviews. This ensures that reaching the campground is convenient for vehicles, even though the camping area itself is described as rustic. However, there is a notable point regarding parking, as one reviewer mentioned "the parking is a maple." This somewhat cryptic statement likely implies that parking might be under or near maple trees, potentially suggesting unpaved or uneven parking surfaces, or perhaps limited shade depending on the location. Groups planning to bring multiple vehicles should be aware of this and potentially inquire about parking conditions when making reservations.
Another important aspect to consider, particularly for early season camping, is the availability of restrooms. One review noted that the restrooms "appeared very nice but were still locked at the end of March." This indicates that the restroom facilities might be seasonal or have specific opening and closing dates. Local users planning to camp at Fifty Springs, especially during the shoulder seasons like early spring or late fall, should definitely confirm the availability of restroom facilities with the campground management to ensure a comfortable stay.
The description of the area as "great rustic" implies that the campground likely offers a more primitive camping experience, possibly with fewer modern amenities compared to more developed campgrounds. This could mean that campsites might be more basic, and campers should be prepared for a more self-sufficient style of camping. However, the scenic beauty of the trails and the presence of the large pavilion are significant offsetting features for groups seeking a natural setting for their outdoor activities.
Given its location near Waynesville, OH, Fifty Springs Group Campground is likely situated within or near the broader natural landscape of southwestern Ohio, potentially close to other outdoor recreation areas or state parks. Waynesville is known for its historic charm and proximity to Caesar Creek State Park, which offers a wide range of recreational opportunities, including hiking, boating, and fishing. Fifty Springs could serve as a base camp for groups looking to explore the natural attractions of this region.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that caters to group outings and offers a rustic experience with scenic hiking trails, Fifty Springs Group Campground is a noteworthy option. The large pavilion is a significant asset for group gatherings, and the proximity to the 50 Springs trail and other scenic routes promises rewarding outdoor adventures. However, potential campers should be mindful of the possible limitations regarding parking and the seasonal availability of restrooms, especially when planning trips during the early or late camping season.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, it is highly recommended that local users contact Fifty Springs Group Campground directly using the provided phone number to inquire about specific details such as campsite amenities, parking arrangements, restroom availability, trail conditions, and any group-specific regulations or booking procedures. Gathering this information in advance will help groups prepare adequately for their rustic and scenic camping adventure at Fifty Springs.
In conclusion, Fifty Springs Group Campground offers a compelling blend of rustic natural beauty and group-oriented facilities in the Waynesville, Ohio area. Its scenic trails, including the namesake 50 Springs trail, and the large pavilion make it an attractive destination for groups seeking an outdoor experience. While potential campers should be aware of possible parking conditions and the seasonal nature of restroom facilities, the overall appeal of a "great rustic area" with opportunities for hiking and group activities makes Fifty Springs a valuable option for local camping enthusiasts.

Fifty Springs Group Campground Reviews
I just hiked the 50 Springs trail today for the first time.I felt a little unclear even though I was able to get through the trail. And not get on the perimeter trail. It's very pretty and there are little trails that go to the water. We had fun!

Sep 05, 2020 · Ashish VarmanOf course you can't mind mother nature's creatures... bat poo under shelter and wasp I think or 🐝's... but the thing that really was creepy crawling at the camp was people, let me tell you when I say let's go camping and our group paid for the site it would basically be like that's our house/hotel room so you CREEPY ppl Be respectful walk around not through our outdoor kitchen or bedroom hallway...it's a tent we hear everyone and thing moving talking etc.....
Sep 07, 2023 · Tammy BrownA great trail took us 2 hours to finish. PROBLEM-it's the orange trail and is NOT marked as such. There is yellow paint on the trail trees not orange. After two wrong turns found our way. Needs some looking after. Trees down over trail in several places, very overgrown, out of control tall weeds across trail in many areas, and lots of poison ivy.
