This is a photo of my curb side. BBQing and sitting outside are not part of the appeal of this park. Spaces are very narrow and close together to maximize revenue. Most all residents are long term pull-behinds. For big rigs with slideouts, there are far better parks in the area. The 50 amp plug-in is installed upside down in the pedestal which makes it difficult to connect. - Michael Svinth

Moon Mountain RV Resort Introduce

If you're a local resident in the Grants Pass, Oregon area searching for "RV parks near me," Moon Mountain RV Resort, located at 3298 Pearce Park Rd, is an option to consider. You can reach them at (541) 479-1145 or +1 541-479-1145 for inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, Moon Mountain RV Resort offers some positive aspects, such as cleanliness and a sense of safety, but also presents certain limitations that local users should be aware of, especially if planning an extended stay or traveling with specific needs.

One reviewer noted the location as "clean, safe," which can be a significant factor for many travelers and potential long-term residents. Feeling secure and being in a clean environment contributes positively to the overall experience of staying at an RV park. Additionally, the same reviewer found it "fine for an overnight stay" and mentioned that "spots are level and everything worked fine," suggesting that for short layovers, the basic functionalities of the park are satisfactory.

The bathrooms and showers at Moon Mountain RV Resort were described as "well lit and clean," which is another important aspect for the comfort and hygiene of guests. Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities are often a high priority for RV travelers, and this positive feedback indicates that the park meets this standard.

The laundry facility is also reported to be clean. However, a significant inconvenience highlighted by a reviewer is that it operates on a coin system with "no change machine on site," and the "office will not make change." This is crucial information for local users planning to use the laundry facilities, as they will need to ensure they have an adequate supply of quarters before arriving at the park. This lack of a change machine could be a considerable drawback, especially for those staying longer or arriving without sufficient small currency.

Despite these positives, several significant limitations were also noted in the reviews, particularly concerning the layout and suitability of the park for certain types of RVs and individuals. Multiple reviewers mentioned that the "spaces are very narrow and close together to maximize revenue." This close proximity of sites might limit privacy and the ability to comfortably set up outdoor living areas such as for BBQing or sitting outside. For local users accustomed to more spacious RV parks, this could be a notable difference.

Furthermore, the park is situated "on a hillside with major slopes." While the individual parking spots are reported to be level, navigating within the park and accessing certain amenities can be challenging. One reviewer, who identifies as disabled, specifically mentioned having "extreme difficulties navigating even in our own space" and being "unable to access" the dog parks due to the slopes. This is a critical consideration for local users who have mobility issues or are traveling with individuals who do.

The steep slopes also led the same reviewer to advise against recommending the park for "children" due to safety concerns. This suggests that the terrain might not be conducive to children playing or moving around safely within the park. Families with young children should take this into serious consideration.

Another point raised is that "most all residents are long term pull-behinds." This indicates that the park might cater more towards long-term residents with smaller RVs rather than larger rigs or those seeking a more transient, resort-style experience. For local users with larger RVs or slideouts, one reviewer explicitly stated, "there are far better parks in the area." This suggests that the narrow spaces and sloped terrain are particularly problematic for larger vehicles.

One reviewer also noted an issue with the "50 amp plug-in" being "installed upside down in the pedestal," making it "difficult to connect." While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, it can be frustrating for RVers relying on a 50-amp electrical connection and suggests a potential oversight in the park's infrastructure.

In terms of the environment, the park is described as "quiet except for highway noise and occasional dog barks." The proximity to the highway means that noise pollution could be a factor affecting the peace and quiet of your stay, especially for those sensitive to such sounds. While the park itself might be relatively quiet internally, the external noise from the highway is something to consider.

Finally, a reviewer mentioned a "beautiful park down the road with river access, about a 1/4 mile," implying that there might be more appealing options in the immediate vicinity for those seeking scenic beauty or specific amenities like river access. This suggests that local users should explore other "RV parks near me" before settling on Moon Mountain RV Resort.

In conclusion, Moon Mountain RV Resort in Grants Pass offers a clean and safe environment that might be adequate for a brief overnight stay. However, several limitations make it less ideal for extended stays, families with children, individuals with disabilities, or those with large RVs. The narrow, sloped spaces, highway noise, lack of a change machine for laundry, and potentially challenging infrastructure (like the upside-down 50-amp plug) are significant drawbacks to consider. Local users are advised to weigh these factors carefully against the positive aspects of cleanliness and safety and perhaps explore other RV parks in the Grants Pass area before making a decision.
