Green Meadows Campgrounds Introduce
For local users in Ohio searching for "camping near me," Green Meadows Campgrounds, located at 4880 OH-350, Clarksville, OH 45113, USA, presents a camping option with notable points to consider based on recent customer reviews. You can contact them at (937) 289-3284 or via mobile at +1 937-289-3284 for inquiries. The reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the campground environment and services, which potential visitors should be aware of.
One reviewer who stayed at Green Meadows Campgrounds for an extended period, from September to January, described the area as "very rough." This individual noted being fortunate to secure a spot near the pond but reported significant issues with neighboring campers who were "actively full of obvious drug users, screaming and fighting in front of their spots, throwing things in the pond, torturing the ducks." This paints a concerning picture of the social environment within the campground during that time, suggesting potential safety and disturbance issues for some visitors. The presence of "multiple kitty gangs" of cats was also mentioned, which could be a consideration for those with allergies or concerns about stray animals.
Regarding the facilities, the same long-term resident described the bathhouse as "sort of clean" but "very run down" with "hardly ever hot water." These comments indicate that the amenities might be basic and potentially in need of maintenance, which could impact the comfort and convenience of campers. The reviewer, who identified as homeless and pregnant at the time, also mentioned that the campground would "rent out a dump to you and at least offer propane if you can afford it," suggesting that while basic accommodation and services like propane might be available, the quality of the campsites themselves could vary significantly. The driveway was also described as a "pothole nightmare," indicating a need for caution when entering and navigating the property, especially for vehicles with less robust tires.
In stark contrast, another reviewer who stayed for about a month reported a very positive experience with a "very nice old couple" who seemingly managed the campground. This reviewer mentioned unexpected services such as "room service" and a "babysitter who was always willing to watch our son when we needed to go out," along with "breakfast in bed." These are highly unusual amenities for a typical campground and suggest a very personalized level of service was provided to this particular guest. The reviewer also noted that while the A/C in their accommodation was likely broken, the owners "more then made up for it though by providing us a rent free stay the entire time," attributing this generosity to the fact that the owners were like "grandparents."
The extreme disparity between these two reviews suggests that the experience at Green Meadows Campgrounds can vary significantly. The first review raises serious concerns about safety, the behavior of some residents, the condition of the facilities, and the overall environment. The second review, on the other hand, portrays a very hospitable and generous experience, albeit with a potential issue regarding the accommodation's amenities (A/C). It's possible that the campground caters to a diverse clientele, including long-term residents in varying circumstances, which might contribute to the mixed experiences reported.
Given these conflicting accounts, it is difficult to objectively describe the typical environment, services, and features of Green Meadows Campgrounds without further information or more consistent feedback. Potential local users considering this "camping near me" option should be aware of the issues raised in the negative review, particularly regarding safety, the behavior of some individuals, and the condition of the facilities. At the same time, they should also note the positive experience of another reviewer who highlighted exceptional hospitality and unexpected services.
There is no clear promotional information available in the provided reviews. The fact that the campground apparently offers long-term stays and propane could be seen as a service for those in need of extended accommodation. However, the negative review suggests that the quality of the accommodation offered might be substandard. The positive review, while highlighting exceptional generosity, seems to be based on a personal connection with the owners rather than standard campground promotions.
Local users considering Green Meadows Campgrounds should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to gather more information and address the discrepancies in the reviews. Key questions to ask could include:
- What types of campsites or accommodations are available (tent sites, RV sites with hookups, cabins, etc.)?
- What are the rates for different types of stays (daily, weekly, monthly)?
- What amenities are provided (restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, etc.) and what is their current condition?
- What is the typical environment of the campground? Are there measures in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests?
- What are the policies regarding long-term residents and transient campers?
- Is propane available for purchase, and what are the details?
- What is the condition of the driveway and other infrastructure within the campground?
- Are there any specific rules or regulations that campers should be aware of?
By asking these direct questions, local users can hopefully gain a more balanced and up-to-date understanding of what Green Meadows Campgrounds currently offers and make an informed decision based on their individual needs and priorities for a "camping near me" experience. The significant differences in the provided reviews underscore the importance of seeking current and detailed information directly from the campground management.
In conclusion, Green Meadows Campgrounds in Clarksville, Ohio, presents a complex picture based on the limited review information available. While one reviewer reported significant issues with the environment and facilities, another described exceptional hospitality. Green Meadows Campgrounds Reviews
I lived here from September to January and the area is very rough. I was lucky enough to get a spot near the pond but the camper behind me and next to me were actively full of obvious drug users, screaming and fighting in front of their spots, throwing things in the pond, torturing the ducks. If you like cats or have one to get rid of, there are multiple kitty gangs in the campground. Bath house was sort of clean, very run down. Hardly ever hot water. If you are homeless and need an emergency place to stay like I did, here’s your spot. (I was homeless, lost and pregnant. Not a junkie.) They will rent out a dump to you and at least offer propane if you can afford it. Have a reliable set of legs or good strong tires because the driveway is a pothole nightmare.
Sep 19, 2023 · Fox HoundStayed here for about a month. Very nice old couple. They even had room service along with a babysitter who was always willing to watch our son when we needed to go out. They offered a breakfast in bed as well. The A/C had to have been broken because it was hot almost the whole time, however they more then made up for it though by providing us a rent free stay the entire time. But hey what are grandparents for.
Jun 10, 2019 · QuitPlayingGamesI have a lot to say for my opinion but if your one of the have nots or paid not to say it doesn't do a thing for anybody concerned besides it's been sold and to new owners I'd have the soil and water tested before you bring any animals
Sep 28, 2023 · Mary CoxWe camped there many years ago when my son was younger, very nice place clean and well put together. Now this place is crazy! I see a lot of activity in and out of this place at 4am in the morning and this is not normal. I’ve almost hit people walking from there to go to the store. I’m am sickened by what is going on in there. There are children living in filth and being made fun of and bullied at school cause you as parents can’t get off the dope and make a life for these children. This place needs to be shut down ASAP!
Apr 01, 2020 · Laura PicklesimerI recently bought a fifth wheel camper and I wanted to test it out and this campground is just a couple miles down the road. I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful the owners were. This campground appears to be under new management and I can tell they are making improvements. My stay was on a Saturday night and I was surprised at how quiet it was that night, very peaceful.
