Blackberry Crossing Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" along the renowned Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire? Blackberry Crossing Campground, located at Kancamagus Hwy, Conway, NH 03818, USA, offers a camping experience in the heart of the scenic White Mountains. You can reach them at (603) 536-6100 or +1 603-536-6100 for inquiries.
Based on recent customer feedback, the condition and services at Blackberry Crossing Campground appear to have changed. One reviewer noted a decline in maintenance since a change in management from "pro sport" to "Vista." Concerns were raised about fallen trees not being addressed and the condition of the toilets, including issues with them needing to be emptied frequently and often running out of toilet paper. This suggests that while the natural beauty of the White Mountains remains a significant draw, the upkeep of the campground itself may be a point to consider for potential visitors.
Despite these concerns, another reviewer offered a different perspective, suggesting that Blackberry Crossing Campground can be a "pretty good campground," particularly if other camping options along the Kancamagus Highway are fully booked. This indicates that it serves as a viable alternative when other sites are unavailable, highlighting its accessibility and potential availability even during busier times. This same reviewer also pointed out a specific feature: a field towards the back of the campground that typically has about six tent sites that are often free. This could be particularly appealing for tent campers looking for a potentially less crowded or readily available spot.
Considering the available information, Blackberry Crossing Campground offers a location directly on the Kancamagus Highway, providing immediate access to the stunning natural beauty of the White Mountains. The environment surrounding the campground is undoubtedly picturesque, with the White Mountains known for their scenic drives, hiking trails, waterfalls, and overall natural splendor. Being situated on this iconic highway places campers within easy reach of numerous outdoor activities and breathtaking vistas.
In terms of services and features, the reviews provide some insights, although not a comprehensive list. The mention of toilets suggests the presence of at least basic sanitary facilities. However, the feedback regarding their maintenance is something to be aware of. The existence of designated campsites, including the earthen pads often found in more established campgrounds, can be inferred, although their current condition isn't detailed. The specific mention of a field with about six tent sites indicates that tent camping is definitely accommodated, and these sites might offer a more secluded or consistently available option.
Based on the information, there isn't explicit mention of amenities like water hookups, electrical hookups, dump stations, or recreational facilities such as playgrounds or communal fire pits. The initial comment about "no services" further implies that Blackberry Crossing Campground might offer a more rustic camping experience with fewer developed amenities compared to some larger, more commercial campgrounds. Therefore, potential campers should likely be prepared for a more self-sufficient camping experience.
Regarding promotional information, there isn't any specific promotional content available in the provided reviews. However, the implicit promotion lies in its location on the Kancamagus Highway and its availability as a potential "last resort" when other campgrounds are full. The presence of a field with often-free tent sites could also be seen as an appealing factor for budget-conscious or last-minute campers.
In summary, Blackberry Crossing Campground offers a campsite along the highly desirable Kancamagus Highway, providing access to the natural wonders of the White Mountains. While recent feedback suggests potential concerns regarding the upkeep of the facilities, it also highlights the campground's utility as an alternative when other options are booked and the presence of a field with tent sites that are often available. For local users searching for "camping near me" and considering Blackberry Crossing Campground, it would be prudent to weigh the prime location and potential availability against the reported maintenance issues. Depending on your priorities – whether it's immediate access to the Kancamagus Highway's attractions or a campground with consistently well-maintained facilities – Blackberry Crossing Campground presents itself as an option worth considering, especially if other nearby sites are at capacity. Tent campers might find the field with its often-free sites particularly appealing.

Blackberry Crossing Campground Reviews
this used to be a 5 stars to me even with no services but since pro sport left and Vista came in the campsites on the kangamagus are in bad shape...trees are coming down and not being taken care of toilets need emptied always running out of toilet paper the forestry really needs to do something about this. the white mountains are beautiful but they are in need of some must needed care
Jul 24, 2024 · Kim WalterPretty good campground, if all the other campgrounds on the Kanc are booked up you can usually use this one as a last resort, they have a field towards the back with about 6 tent sites that are typically always free.
Aug 25, 2024 · Danylo ChernomoretsI have been camping my entire life. We used to only stay at the Covered Bridge but as that campground became more reserved vs. first come it got to hard to find a site. We moved over to Blackberry and so glad we did. The campground is small but full of history. The host are ALWAYS so kind. Truly a wonderful campground to relax, enjoy family, and nature.
Jul 24, 2022 · Stephanie BrownClean campground located along the Kancamagus Hwy / Rte 112 in Albany/Conway. NH. Hosts were wonderful and friendly. Water and toilet facilities available; not on each site. No showers, but can use campground's up the road that is also part of the National Forest camping. Firewood available for purchase. Wood/fire pits with steel grates for cooking on each site. Dumpster available for trash. Thanks for the hospitality. Hope to return soon.
Jul 16, 2020 · Tracey AnnQuiet. Decent space between sites. Very very peaceful. This is one of my family's all time favorite places to camp when in New Hampshire!! An old CCC camp, plaques of historical info and old foundations give this place some interesting character too!
