Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday Introduce
For local residents seeking a premier "camping near me" experience, the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday, located at 2481 Jacksonville Rd, Bellefonte, PA 16823, USA, offers a wide range of amenities and services. You can reach them at (814) 355-7912 or +1 814-355-7912 to inquire about reservations and learn more about what this campground has to offer. Based on customer reviews, this KOA strives to provide a high-quality camping experience with a focus on cleanliness, friendly service, and a variety of activities for different types of campers.
One overwhelmingly positive review highlights the exceptional staff and the overall quality of the KOA. The reviewer, escaping severe weather, arrived on opening day and was met with a warm welcome and efficient service. They praised the cleanliness and levelness of the campsites, the perfect water pressure, and the well-maintained grounds, especially impressive for the first day of the season. This indicates a dedicated grounds crew that takes pride in the appearance and upkeep of the property. The reviewer also noted the clean laundry facilities ($2.75 per load) and the clean showers, although they did not personally use the latter. Families with children will appreciate the clean playgrounds, which were a hit with the reviewer's kids. Additionally, the availability of a clean dog park with provided bags makes this KOA a pet-friendly option.
For recreational activities, the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday offers a fishing pond where the reviewer successfully caught bluegill and smallmouth bass. This provides a relaxing on-site activity for fishing enthusiasts of all levels. The staff, including the grounds crew and office personnel, are consistently described as friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to assist guests. One instance mentioned was the office staff readily helping to print important paperwork. This level of customer service is a significant asset, contributing to a positive and stress-free camping experience.
The reviewer, a seasoned traveler across the country staying at various KOAs and RV resorts, unequivocally rated this KOA as "top notch in every aspect," further emphasizing the high standards of the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday. The only minor critique was arriving too early in the season for the bounce pad to be operational, and the weather not being ideal for taking pictures, indicating the presence of a bounce pad as another family-friendly amenity.
However, another review provides a different perspective, highlighting the importance of detailed information when booking a site, particularly for larger RVs. This reviewer, traveling in a 35-foot fifth-wheel and without children, had different priorities than those seeking playgrounds and family activities. They booked a site without realizing the campground was on a hilltop, and the road to their assigned site was steep and narrow, ultimately proving unsuitable for their large RV. Maneuvering was difficult, and they risked tipping over. This experience led them to pay an additional $7.50 for a more appropriate "nice site" in area 101 and above, which was flat, quiet, and offered easy access. The reviewer's advice for Class A or fifth-wheel RVs is to specifically look for sites in area 101 and above, which are priced at $64 per night and offer the necessary space and accessibility. This feedback underscores the importance of providing clear and comprehensive information during the booking process to ensure guests select sites that can accommodate their specific needs and the size of their RV.
Combining these reviews, the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday appears to be a well-maintained campground with excellent customer service and a variety of amenities catering to families and those seeking a traditional KOA experience. The environment is described as clean and well-kept. Services include laundry facilities, clean restrooms and showers, and a helpful office staff. Features include playgrounds, a fishing pond, a dog park, and potentially a bounce pad (seasonal). However, for those with large RVs, it is crucial to book sites in the designated area (101 and above) to ensure a flat and easily accessible location.
While the reviews do not explicitly mention cabin rentals or tent sites, KOA campgrounds typically offer a range of accommodation options. Local users interested in these options should inquire directly when making their reservations. Similarly, specific details about the natural environment beyond the well-maintained grounds and the presence of a pond are not provided in these reviews. It would be beneficial to ask about any nearby hiking trails or natural attractions when contacting the campground.
In terms of promotional information, none is explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users should check the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday's website or contact them directly to inquire about any current specials, discounts for local residents, or seasonal promotions that might be available.
For local residents looking for a "camping near me" option with a reputation for cleanliness, friendly service, and a range of family-friendly amenities, the Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday is a strong contender. However, those with large RVs should heed the advice to book sites in area 101 or higher to ensure a suitable and stress-free experience. By contacting the campground directly, local users can gather all the necessary details to plan a wonderful camping getaway.

Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday Reviews
Cannot thank the staff enough for our stay.We showed up the day they opened at 9am. They were more than welcoming an knew we were coming (trying to get away from severe weather in Ohio valley) everything about this Koa was outstanding. Sites were clean and level. Water pressure was perfect. The grounds were well maintained and it was the first day of season. So you can tell the the staff takes pride in making sure it's a true koa experience! Laundry rooms were clean $2.75 per load. Although I did not use there showers they were also clean! Playgrounds were clean an our kids loved them. I even went fishing at there pond and caught bluegill an small mouth! Dog park was clean an had bags available The staff even the grounds crew were beyond friendly and helpful. The office staff helped us print out a bunch of paper work we needed with no questions asked. I cannot say enough good things about this Koa. My family have literally crossed the country staying at many koas an RV "resorts" this one is top notch if every aspect. If I could critique one thing it's that we showed up to early for the bounce pad to be going an the weather wasn't great and I didn't take any pictures to show how wonderful the property was! 5 stars A+ an many thanks to the Koa crew you are all complete rockstars an it shows via the grounds and customer service at State college / belefonte koa!!! I could go on and on!!! Highly recommend this campground!
Apr 19, 2025 · djreddfoxSo our score is representative of what we need from a campground. We don't have kids, and we are not interested in playground or bike track. Our 35 foot 5th-wheel needs an open flat spot with hookups. I booked a site not knowing the campground is on a hilltop. The road up to our assigned site was steep and narrow. We didn't fit into the site and could not get back on the road without driving through the grass and risk tipping over. Went back to the office, and we learned that fir $7.50 more, we could get a nice site. We'll, duhh, we'll take that. Once in the appropriate camping area, we were fine. With all the info needed to book a site, someone should have warned us that we were too big for what we booked. I've never been there before, how would I know? So class a or 5th wheel. Look for the site in area 101 and above. $64 a night, flat, quiet, easy in and out.Holiday KOA, do better
Apr 24, 2025 · DacksIf you wish to have a pleasant camping experience with the family, the KOA is lovely and kid-friendly. The pool is heated, and my son was excited to explore the fantastic bike park. If you like fishing, they provide a pond full of fish so your kids may enjoy the thrill of your catch. A lovely swing to unwind on while admiring the pond. The personnel is amiable and fantastic! It's kept immaculately. It's clear that they worked very hard to create the KOA so you could unwind in the summer.
Dec 20, 2024 · Anita MarieStayed here in a 40ft toy hauler. The new section pull-throughs have plenty of room. Easy to get in and out. Site was fairly level. Bath house was very clean. Staff were very friendly. There is noise from I80 all night long - bring a white noise generator. Good T-Mobile signal. Would stay here again.
Nov 01, 2024 · Robert BMy family and I stayed in one of the deluxe cabins as an alternative to a hotel room while on a road trip, and we're so glad we did. The cabin was clean, warm, and exactly what we needed for a road trip overnight. Glad we stayed.
