Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Gaylord, Michigan area? Consider Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort, located at 5004 W Otsego Lake Dr. This resort appears to offer a wide array of amenities and accommodation options, catering to both RV campers and those interested in cabin rentals. Based on recent customer reviews, Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort is described as beautiful and well-maintained, situated in a perfect spot with convenient access to nearby attractions.
Environment and Location: Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort is located in Gaylord, Michigan, which is known for its natural beauty and proximity to various attractions in Northern Michigan. One reviewer highlighted its perfect location, noting that it is within a reasonable driving distance from popular destinations such as Petoskey, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Hartwick Pines State Park, and Mackinaw City. This makes it a potentially ideal basecamp for exploring the region. While one review mentioned that the campsites felt small and too close together, they also noted that the exterior of the cabins looked beautiful. Another reviewer described the campground as "beautiful" and the sites as "nice and well-maintained," suggesting an overall pleasant environment. The mention of being "right in Gaylord" implies easy access to local conveniences and possibly the town's attractions as well. The presence of an indoor pool that "looked wonderful" also hints at well-maintained facilities within the resort.
Services and Amenities: Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort seems to offer a comprehensive set of services and amenities. For RV campers, the availability of "lots of full hook-ups" is a significant advantage, typically including connections for electricity, water, and sewer. The resort boasts several recreational facilities, including a "great hot tub, sauna and pool" (it's unclear if the pool mentioned here is the same as the indoor pool noted by the other reviewer, suggesting there might be both indoor and outdoor options). Additionally, there is a mini golf course, a water slide that "looked like fun" (though it didn't appear to be open during one reviewer's visit in September), pickleball courts, and a dog park, catering to a variety of interests and needs. The resort also emphasizes safety and security, which is a notable feature mentioned by one reviewer. While the office and camp store were reported as closed during one off-season visit in September, this might not be the case during peak season. The availability of cabin rentals is also a service offered, with the exteriors being described as beautiful, although no details were provided about the interiors.
Features and Atmosphere: A key feature of Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort is the wide range of recreational activities available on-site, making it more than just a place to park an RV or sleep. The presence of a hot tub, sauna, pool(s), water slide, mini golf, pickleball courts, and a dog park suggests a family-friendly and activity-oriented atmosphere. The feeling of being "very safe and secure" adds to the appeal, providing peace of mind for guests. While one reviewer found the campsites to be small and close together, another described the sites as "nice," indicating a potential variability or difference in perception. The overall atmosphere seems to be that of a well-equipped and maintained resort aimed at providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay with plenty to do on-site, along with a convenient location for exploring the surrounding region.
Points to Consider: Potential visitors might want to consider the size and spacing of the RV campsites, as one reviewer found them small and too close together, which might be a concern for those seeking more space and privacy. The seasonal operation of some amenities, like the water slide, is also something to keep in mind when planning a visit, as it might not be available year-round (it was closed in mid-September according to one review). While cabin rentals are offered and their exteriors are appealing, information about the interior amenities and costs would be beneficial for those considering this option. It's also worth noting the off-season closure of the office and camp store, which might affect the availability of services during certain times of the year. However, the positive feedback regarding the beauty of the campground, the well-maintained sites, and the extensive list of amenities suggests that these potential drawbacks might be outweighed by the overall positive experience for many visitors.

Benjamin's Beaver Creek Resort Reviews
9/17/24The office and camp store were closed. The indoor pool looked wonderful. The campsites were very small and way to close together. Didn't see inside any of the cabins but, the out was beautiful. Needless to say, I will not be pulling my camper there. My awning would almost hang into the site next to me. I may however, rent a cabin. Depending on cost. The water slide didn't appear to be open but, it did look like fun. Sorry I couldn't give a better review.
Sep 19, 2024 · Kristin HirlemannBeautiful campground in a perfect spot. The sites are nice and well-maintained. Lots of full hook-ups. It has a great hot tub, sauna and pool. There’s a mini golf course, water slide, pickleball courts, dog park, and lots of nice facilities. It feels very safe and secure. It’s right in Gaylord and it’s a reasonable driving distance from Petoskey, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Hartwick Pines, Mackinaw, etc. 100% recommend!
Oct 20, 2024 · Conrad JacobWe had a lot of fun. A couple things I am only commenting on because I wish I had known…I was told I didn’t need to bring coffee or silverware and that the cabin slept 6 comfortably. Well we were here four days but there’s only coffee for two (we went to purchase some at the convenience store/office and were told they no longer carry it but have coffee filters 🤔….also had charcoal but no lighter fluid). And for silverware it was okay because there was four us and an infant BUT if you have more than four people you’d want to bring some. There’s only four forks and four spoons. The living room (cabin 2321) only had a small loveseat so only two could sit. This wasn’t a huge deal because we were outside a lot. Just worth noting. All of those small things aside we had a blast at this location! The pool was very clean, putt putt was free & the kids had a BLAST on the slide!!If you’re wanting to rent a golf cart get one asap because we went Saturday morning and they were all gone.
Jul 28, 2024 · Heather McconnellFirst time camping here. Nice paved site, only used pool area, shower area was well kept but shower control panel needs to be repaired. Past labor day so water slide was closed . Enjoyed our time there, will be back.
Sep 30, 2024 · P A ManThe resort overall was great . The campsites are roomy and the bathrooms are clean and showers were hot . My only complaint is that the hot tub was closed and the pool was not heated . The one thing I was looking forward to was a nice time in the hot tub to relax some of my muscles
