Birch Lake Campground and Day-Use Area Reviews
Deb and Dan keep these grounds spotless. Deb has activities for the kids. And you need to ask her about Matilda
Jul 08, 2024 · Anita McGowanDeb is a fantastic host/grounds keeper. This campsite is very pretty and clean. Everone there was very friendly and polite!
May 23, 2023 · jake jonesBirch Lake has nice hiking trails (though some are overgrown for all you tick-afraid campers). Please be aware- there is NO FIREWOOD available. There is plenty of dead and down to collect- though it’s a wet, marshy, floodplain region. (not that I did that, cause it’s not allowed in MN state forests)The park entrance is not very well indicated with signage. Good coordinates for the campground are (45.7709410, -94.7712472)My campsite was littered with beer cans but I had fun foraging for drunk-boy litter.I was slightly annoyed by loud neighbors, motorboats, and generators (seriously- why do ya’ll need to run your tv’s and microwaves in the freaking woods!?)Felt quite safe as a solo female, even though the campground was pretty empty on a mid-week day. Turns out there are no serial killers in the forest.Heard lots of cool birds, made friends with some spiders, saw many mushrooms, and listened for frogs in the bog.Wish there was a swimming area and water that didn’t questionably smell like sewage- but it’s okay! The woods are beautiful. Would still come back.
Aug 10, 2024 · Kyra CurryArrived after dark. Never seen a MN State Park more poorly marked with fewer signs. The map at eye office was no help and I saw a sign that said showers and bathrooms a long way from my campsite.Next morning I saw the bathrooms. How about a solar light there? The logic in putting both toilets within a few yards of each other puzzles me. Why not on each end of the loop?
Sep 23, 2023 · Stephen - Not SteveHome away from home. We frequent this park year round. This season we had the BEST campground host EVER! Deb was amazing!!! She was so friendly and welcoming. Anything you needed, she was there. Then there's Dan, the DNR guy, who takes great pride in keeping the trails safe and clear for hikers. He is AWSOME! Questions? Just ask Dan. I Can't say enough great things about Deb and Dan and how they took care of the park this season❤
