Blue Pool Campground Introduce
Looking for a charming "camping near me" experience in the heart of Oregon? Consider Blue Pool Campground, located in Oakridge, OR 97463, USA. While no phone number is provided in the information, reviews from fellow campers offer insights into this potentially delightful natural retreat. Blue Pool Campground seems to be a favorite for those seeking a blend of natural beauty and access to outdoor adventures, although it's worth noting some of the specifics mentioned by visitors.
Environment: Blue Pool Campground is described as "very cute" with "beautiful spots right off the creek." This suggests a picturesque setting where campers can enjoy the soothing sounds and scenic views of a nearby creek, creating a sense of being deeply immersed in nature, even if the campground isn't entirely remote. One reviewer mentioned that it makes you "feel like you are deeper into nature than you are," implying a good balance of accessibility and natural immersion. However, it's also noted that some "road noise" can be heard, indicating that the campground might be situated relatively close to a road. Despite this, the creek-side locations seem to offer a significant draw. The campground's proximity to hot springs and Salt Creek Falls further enhances its environmental appeal, suggesting that campers can easily explore other natural attractions in the area. The mention of numerous other hiking opportunities also points to a location rich in outdoor recreational potential.
Services: The reviews provide some details about the facilities at Blue Pool Campground. It has both "flush toilets bathroom" and "vault toilets." One reviewer found the flush toilet bathroom to be "a little scary," which might suggest issues with cleanliness or maintenance. In contrast, the "vault toilets were well maintained," indicating that campers have a cleaner alternative for restroom facilities. A significant piece of information for visitors is that there is "no cell service with any carriers," so those relying on mobile communication should be prepared to be off-grid during their stay. While other services like water sources, fire pits, or picnic tables at individual sites are not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, the presence of different types of toilets suggests that the campground offers some level of developed facilities beyond just basic campsites.
Features: A key feature of Blue Pool Campground is its beautiful setting along the creek, offering a more intimate connection with nature. Its strategic location near several popular attractions is another significant advantage. The campground is close to hot springs, providing opportunities for relaxation in natural thermal waters. Salt Creek Falls, known for its stunning beauty, is also nearby, making for a great day trip. Furthermore, the area boasts "many other hiking opportunities," catering to those who enjoy exploring on foot. For one reviewer, the overall experience was so positive that they were returning for a third time, specifically mentioning the desire to "hike down," suggesting that hiking is a prominent activity associated with the campground or its surroundings. Despite getting lost on a previous attempt, their enthusiasm for returning highlights the appeal of the location. The combination of creek-side camping and proximity to diverse natural attractions makes Blue Pool Campground a noteworthy option for those seeking outdoor adventures.

Jun 19, 2023 · Kyleigh RhodesIt's worth the hike. Defenl, I'm coming back for the 3rd time, so i can hike domw. Cause i go lost 😫😔 going down. But next time I won't. But i love this experience. It's one of my top lists.
Jul 20, 2023 · Noe RomeroPretty run down, only accepts cash for the day use pass so come prepared. No easy water access and the trails are sketchy. We visited the immediate day use area only. The camping is tent only and very few had picnic tables or BBQ grills. There was a massive rock cooking thing with a tiny pit and sheet metal top... Not sure what you'd do with that. It's an odd little area. We only spent the free allowable 30 minutes there because we didn't have cash. The camp host checked our vehicle multiple times in that short amount of time as well. We just wanted some time in the woods and water, instead we were made to feel uncomfortable and a bit harassed. The passive aggressive behavior of the camp host and his need to make sure he got his 9 bucks was too much. I was happy to pay, I didn't even think to bring cash. We went to McCredie instead and had a great time.
Sep 10, 2024 · Rachel EricksonFirst a foremost, I want to let others know that this is not the Blue Pool! Several people came by while we were camping, trying to find it. It doesn't help that several others have posted pictures of the Blue Pool on this campgrounds page. The actual blue pool is several hours away. Secondly, the site was nice. However, a bathroom when you first enter the site is heavily graffitied and vandalized. It wasn't in working condition. There is graffiti all through the campsite. The campground host wasn't present the day and night I was there. They had a chain around their front door and a boot on their golf cart. This was a telling sign that the site may not be secure. Overall, it's a beautiful site. People are trashing it, though. Lastly, it is right by the road so there is road traffic and also train noise.
Jul 25, 2023 · Brianna JohnsonBlue Pool is a fantastic, deep swimming hole in a gorge on Freestone Creek, and one of the most popular spots in the state forest on a hot day. After your swim, you can walk a couple of hundred metres to a lookout over the creek, or stroll through a cheery fern gully. Blue Pool is 10 km north of Briagolong off Freestone Creek Rd. Note: this is the only campground in the forest that has a toilet.
