Lone Star RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" while traveling through Sweetwater, Texas? Consider Lone Star RV Park, conveniently located at 5730 I-20 Frontage Rd, Sweetwater, TX 79556, USA. You can reach them at (325) 235-1553 or via mobile at +1 325-235-1553 to inquire about availability and make reservations. Based on recent customer feedback, Lone Star RV Park offers a mix of positive attributes, including friendly service and recent facility upgrades, alongside some considerations for potential guests.
One of the key advantages of Lone Star RV Park is its accessibility. Located directly on the I-20 Frontage Road, it offers "easy access from the freeway," making it a convenient stop for travelers passing through the Sweetwater area. This accessibility can be particularly beneficial for those on long journeys or arriving late in the day. As one reviewer noted, they were able to find a spot last minute after experiencing a tire blowout nearby, highlighting the park's ability to accommodate travelers in unexpected situations.
The park owners have been consistently described as "very nice" and the "park host was very friendly." This welcoming atmosphere can contribute significantly to a positive stay, especially for those who appreciate personal interaction and helpful assistance. The host was even able to provide recommendations for local tire repair services, demonstrating a willingness to go the extra mile for their guests.
Another positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the recent remodeling of the restrooms. One guest specifically mentioned that the "woman's bathroom was very clean." However, it's important to note that the same reviewer found the "men's bathroom left much to be desired," indicating a potential inconsistency in the recent renovations or the upkeep between the facilities. It's advisable for travelers to inquire about the current condition of both restrooms when making their booking.
The bathroom setup is also described as being like "family bathrooms," with three showers, two sinks, and one toilet in an open area. This configuration might be a consideration for those who prefer more private individual facilities. Additionally, guests are advised to "bring your own toilet paper, soap, and paper towels," as these are not consistently provided. Being aware of this beforehand will ensure a more comfortable experience.
In terms of the environment, one reviewer who stayed at Lone Star RV Park found it to be "quiet during our stay," which can be a significant plus for those seeking a peaceful night's rest. This suggests that despite its proximity to the interstate, the park may offer a relatively tranquil setting.
However, a notable concern raised by one reviewer was the presence of neighborhood dogs on the property. They reported seeing up to five dogs, with one described as "a bit aggressive." The reviewer also mentioned that some RV residents feed these dogs, leading to frequent visits despite the owner's apparent disapproval. This situation caused their own friendly dog to become fearful and unwilling to go outside. For pet owners, particularly those with smaller or more timid dogs, this could be a significant drawback. It would be prudent for potential guests traveling with pets to inquire about the current status of this issue and the park's policies regarding neighborhood animals.
The park was able to accommodate a 31ft trailer, indicating its capacity to handle a range of RV sizes. This is an important factor for RVers to consider when choosing a park, and Lone Star RV Park appears to be equipped for moderately sized rigs.
While the online information does not provide details about specific amenities such as laundry facilities, recreational areas, or hookup specifics (beyond the implication of standard RV hookups given the context of an RV park), the reviews offer valuable insights into the service, cleanliness of some facilities, and the overall environment. The ease of access from I-20 makes it a practical stopover for travelers on that route.
For those looking for a no-frills RV park near Sweetwater with easy freeway access and friendly owners, Lone Star RV Park could be a viable option. The recently remodeled women's restroom is a definite plus. However, potential guests should be aware of the shared bathroom configuration and the need to bring their own toiletries. The issue with neighborhood dogs, as reported by one reviewer, is also a significant factor to consider, especially for those traveling with pets.
To get a comprehensive understanding of the current conditions and policies at Lone Star RV Park, it is highly recommended to contact them directly at (325) 235-1553 or +1 325-235-1553. You can inquire about the restroom situation, the park's policy on neighborhood animals, the specific types of hookups available, and any other amenities they may offer. Speaking directly with the owners or staff will provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information to help you make an informed decision about your stay.
In conclusion, if you are traveling through Sweetwater, Texas, and searching for "RV parks near me" with convenient freeway access, Lone Star RV Park offers friendly service and some recently upgraded facilities. While the shared bathroom setup and the reported issue with neighborhood dogs are factors to consider, the park's accessibility and welcoming owners may make it a suitable stop for some travelers. Be sure to call ahead to get the latest information and address any specific concerns you may have before making your reservation.

Lone Star RV Park Reviews
We had a tire blow out on our RV and luckily we were only a few miles away from this park. They had a spot available for us last minute and able to accommodate our 31ft trailer. Park host was very friendly and also gave us recommendations for tire repair close by in town. Park was quiet during our stay.
May 13, 2022 · Joanna GrayVery nice owners. Easy access from the freeway. We got there late and was able to pay in the morning. Recently remodeled restrooms. The woman's bathroom was very clean, the men's bathroom left much to be desired. The men and women's bathroom are like family bathrooms, three showers two sinks and one toilet in the open. Bring your own toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.Big downfall for us was that there were 5 dogs, one being a bit aggressive, from the neighborhood that were there when we got there. Some of the RV residents feed the dogs so the visit often, even though the owner doesn't like them to. Our dog, a very friendly dog, was so scared of the dogs he refused to go out to pee in the morning. We would not stay there again solely due to the dogs.
Dec 23, 2018 · Laura Lee FackrellThis place isn’t a “resort” but it’s kept clean & has everything you need. Wi-Fi, showers, restroom (yes - provide your own toilet paper), dumpsters. The managers are probably the main reason I think so highly of this place. They’re honest & personable people. Don’t be shy to text and reserve a spot, they’re laid back and always get back to you in a timely manner.Quiet yet friendly neighbors. If I’m ever back here again, this will be my go to.
Jun 10, 2022 · Jennifer ErinOur truck broke down right around the corner from this RV park. We parked late in the afternoon, so the office was closed, but the owner came around for payment in the early evening. She was very kind and asked us just to let her know how long we would need to be there while our truck was fixed. The on site facilities weren’t great, but the full hookups were very nice to have.
Jun 27, 2022 · Lindsay MuncyGreat place, conveniently located right along the side of I-20. Outside of town but only five minutes to Wal-Mart. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Twenty-four hour a day laundry and public restrooms. Reasonably priced by the day, week, or month.
