If it's not raining it's a nice park. Easy to pull in and out of. The wifi is okay in certain areas and non-existent in others. The owner will not tell you that the place floods until after it rains. We have asked numerous times for gravel and we get a response of, he will try to get us some. I'd suggest staying somewhere else. Yes, it's a quiet park, but do you want to step out in 5 inches of water if it rains. - Marshall Mounce

Stone Tower RV Park & Cabins Introduce

For local RV enthusiasts searching for "RV parks near me" in the Roscoe, Texas area, Stone Tower RV Park & Cabins, located at 200 Cypress St, Roscoe, TX 79545, USA, offers a mixed experience according to recent customer reviews. You can reach them at (806) 433-1863 or +1 806-433-1863 to inquire about availability and specific details. However, it's crucial for local users to be aware of both the positive and negative aspects highlighted by fellow travelers before making a decision.

One reviewer noted that "If it's not raining it's a nice park." This suggests that under favorable weather conditions, Stone Tower RV Park can be a pleasant place to stay. They also pointed out that it is "Easy to pull in and out of," which is a significant convenience for RVers of all sizes, simplifying arrival and departure. This ease of access can be particularly appealing for those who are new to RVing or who prefer a hassle-free setup and departure process. The reviewer's comment implies that the layout of the park is well-designed for maneuvering RVs, which can be a major factor in the overall camping experience.

Regarding connectivity, this reviewer mentioned that "the wifi is okay in certain areas and non-existent in others." This inconsistency in Wi-Fi service is an important consideration for local users who rely on a stable internet connection for work, communication, or entertainment during their RV stays. In today's digital age, reliable internet access is often considered a necessity, and the spotty nature of the Wi-Fi at Stone Tower RV Park could be a significant drawback for some. Depending on your site location within the park, the Wi-Fi experience may vary significantly, making it difficult to plan for consistent online access.

A major concern raised by this reviewer is the issue of flooding. They stated that "The owner will not tell you that the place floods until after it rains." This lack of upfront information about potential flooding is a significant drawback and a serious consideration for anyone planning to stay at Stone Tower RV Park, especially during periods of rain. The reviewer also mentioned repeated requests for gravel to mitigate the issue, with the response being that the owner would "try to get us some," suggesting that the flooding problem may not be adequately addressed. This raises concerns about the park's infrastructure and the responsiveness of the management to address environmental issues that could impact guest safety and comfort.

Based on this negative experience, the reviewer concluded, "I'd suggest staying somewhere else. Yes, it's a quiet park, but do you want to step out in 5 inches of water if it rains." This strong recommendation against staying at Stone Tower RV Park due to the flooding risk should be carefully considered by local users. The potential for encountering significant water accumulation after rain, especially without prior warning or adequate drainage, could lead to discomfort, damage to equipment, and an overall unpleasant experience.

However, another guest who stayed for approximately two months shared a more positive perspective, stating, "My stay here was great, i was here for roughly 2 months. And no issues." They acknowledged the comments about rain but pointed out that "thats actually everywhere in roscoe," suggesting that flooding might be a regional issue rather than solely a park-specific problem. This provides a different viewpoint on the rain-related concerns, implying that other RV parks in the area might face similar challenges during wet weather. However, it does not negate the first reviewer's experience or the park's responsibility to inform guests about potential flooding on their specific property.

This long-term guest also highlighted the reliability of essential utilities, stating, "I can say that there was no power issue even with strong winds." This is a crucial aspect for RVers, ensuring a comfortable and safe stay regardless of weather conditions. Consistent and reliable power is essential for running appliances, heating, and cooling systems within an RV, and the positive feedback on this aspect is reassuring.

A significant amenity mentioned by this reviewer is the availability of "washers and dryers on site and they work very well." Laundry facilities are highly valued by RVers, especially those on extended trips, and the positive feedback about their functionality is a definite plus for Stone Tower RV Park. Having reliable on-site laundry can save guests time and money compared to using off-site facilities.

Regarding maintenance and management responsiveness, the reviewer noted, "If there is issues the owner is on it usually the next day." This suggests that the owner is generally attentive to problems and aims to resolve them promptly, which can contribute to a positive guest experience. Knowing that help is readily available for any issues that may arise can provide peace of mind for RV travelers.

The Wi-Fi experience was also addressed by this long-term guest. They found it "good at first but then got a little slower when the park was full." They considered this understandable due to increased usage, stating, "For me this is not a big deal since l working the entire time,l." This provides a more nuanced view of the Wi-Fi, suggesting that while it might slow down during peak occupancy, it is generally functional during less crowded times. Local users whose internet needs are less demanding or who primarily need Wi-Fi during off-peak hours might find this acceptable.

Considering both reviews, Stone Tower RV Park & Cabins presents a mixed bag for local users seeking "RV parks near me" in Roscoe, TX. The positive aspects include:

  • Easy pull-in and pull-out access for RVs, simplifying the arrival and departure process.
  • A generally quiet park environment, offering a peaceful stay.
  • Reliable power supply, ensuring essential utilities function correctly.
  • On-site washers and dryers that work well, providing convenience for longer stays.
  • A responsive owner who addresses issues in a timely manner, indicating good management.
  • Potentially good Wi-Fi connectivity during less crowded times.
  • The availability of cabins, offering alternative lodging options.

However, the significant negative aspect raised by one reviewer is the potential for flooding during rain and the alleged lack of proactive communication or adequate solutions from the owner regarding this issue. This is a serious concern that local users must consider, especially given the unpredictable nature of weather in West Texas. The inconsistency of the Wi-Fi, with areas of no reception and slowdowns when the park is full, is another factor to weigh based on individual internet needs.

The environment of Roscoe, Texas, is typically characterized by the flat plains of West Texas. Shade might be limited, and the landscape can be somewhat arid. The "Stone Tower" in the name might refer to a local landmark or a feature on the property, but this is not elaborated upon in the reviews. Local users familiar with the Roscoe area will have a better understanding of the general environment and should consider how the park's layout and landscaping fit within this regional context.

The availability of cabins at Stone Tower RV Park suggests that they cater to a broader range of lodging needs beyond RVs. These cabins might offer a more sheltered option during inclement weather, but their specific amenities and susceptibility to flooding are not discussed in the provided reviews. Local users traveling with non-RVing guests or seeking a different type of accommodation might find the cabins appealing, but further information would be needed to assess their suitability.

As there is no promotional information included in the reviews, local users interested in rates, availability, or any special offers should contact Stone Tower RV Park & Cabins directly at (806) 433-1863 or +1 806-433-1863. It would be prudent to specifically inquire about their policies and measures regarding potential flooding, as well as the reliability of Wi-Fi at different site locations and the amenities offered in the RV park and cabins.

In conclusion, Stone Tower RV Park & Cabins in Roscoe, TX, offers a quiet park with easy access and essential amenities like laundry facilities and generally reliable power. However, the serious concern raised by one reviewer regarding flooding and the inconsistent Wi-Fi are significant drawbacks that local users should carefully weigh. While another long-term guest had a more positive experience, the potential for encountering flooding issues, especially without prior warning or adequate remediation, makes it essential for prospective visitors to seek more information and potentially consider alternative "RV parks near me" in the Roscoe area, particularly if they plan to stay during periods of potential rainfall or if reliable internet access is a high priority.
