Freedom RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Sweetwater, Texas area, Freedom RV Park, located at 9909 I-20 Frontage Rd, Sweetwater, TX 79556, presents a somewhat contrasting picture based on the limited recent customer reviews available online. While one review praises the helpfulness of a staff member and the reasonable pricing, another details several significant issues experienced during their overnight stay. It is important for local users to consider both perspectives when evaluating Freedom RV Park for their potential RVing needs.
One of the reviews paints a concerning picture of the initial experience at Freedom RV Park. This guest reported receiving two email receipts but no accompanying instructions, map, check-in information, or details about a night check-in box. This lack of pre-arrival information could lead to confusion and frustration for guests, especially those arriving after hours. The same reviewer also inquired about Wi-Fi, noting the absence of connection information, making it unclear if the service was available or how to access it.
Further difficulties were encountered upon arrival. The guest was assigned site H04 on their receipt but found it occupied. They ended up taking site H02, highlighting a potential issue with site management or communication. The process of identifying the correct hookup slots was also problematic, as they were marked in "tiny letters" on the electric hookup box, requiring the use of a flashlight to locate them by walking from box to box. This lack of clear site markings could cause inconvenience and delays, particularly in low-light conditions.
Perhaps the most significant concern raised by this reviewer was the discrepancy between the initially perceived price and the final amount charged. What was thought to be a $45 overnight fee escalated to $70 with added fees. This lack of transparency in pricing can lead to significant dissatisfaction and distrust. The reviewer also questioned the availability of amenities such as a pool, restrooms, and laundry facilities, stating they did not see a pool and speculating that restrooms and laundry were likely absent, further wondering how one would access them if they did exist. This suggests a potential lack of visible or easily accessible amenities that are often expected at RV parks.
Based on this negative experience, the reviewer expressed a strong intention to avoid "scams like this" in the future and aimed to warn others off from staying at Freedom RV Park based on their experience.
In stark contrast, the second review provides a much more positive perspective. This guest specifically mentioned a staff member named Janice, describing her as "super nice and very helpful in finding the best spot for us." This highlights a potentially positive aspect of the park – the helpfulness and friendliness of at least one staff member. The same reviewer also found the price to be "very reasonable" and stated that they "would definitely stay here again." This suggests that for some guests, the pricing and the interaction with certain staff members can be satisfactory, leading to a positive overall experience.
Considering these two very different accounts, Freedom RV Park appears to present a somewhat inconsistent experience for its guests. While interactions with staff like Janice may be positive, there seem to be potential issues with pre-arrival communication, site organization, pricing transparency, and possibly the availability or visibility of standard RV park amenities.
Based on the limited information, we can attempt to summarize the potential environment, services, and features of Freedom RV Park:
- Location near I-20: Its frontage road location suggests easy access from the interstate, which can be convenient for travelers.
- Potentially Reasonable Prices: One reviewer found the price to be reasonable, while another experienced a significant discrepancy with added fees. Pricing transparency may be an issue.
- Helpful Staff (at least one): Janice is mentioned as being super nice and very helpful. However, the initial lack of communication detailed in the other review might contradict this across the board.
- Potential Issues with Communication: Lack of pre-arrival instructions, map, and check-in information reported by one guest.
- Possible Site Organization Problems: Occupied assigned sites and unclear site markings were reported.
- Uncertainty about Amenities: The presence and accessibility of a pool, restrooms, and laundry facilities are questionable based on one review.
- Self Check-In (Implied): The lack of a clear check-in process and the need to locate sites independently suggest a potentially informal or self-service approach, at least for late arrivals.
Given the conflicting feedback and the significant concerns raised by one reviewer regarding pricing and lack of information, local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Sweetwater, TX, should exercise caution and seek further clarification before booking a stay at Freedom RV Park. It would be prudent to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers, (325) 603-9300 or +1 325-603-9300, to inquire about:
- The check-in process and whether pre-arrival information is provided.
- The availability and location of a park map.
- Wi-Fi access details and any associated costs.
- The exact pricing structure, including any potential additional fees, to avoid unexpected charges.
- The presence and accessibility of amenities such as a pool, restrooms, and laundry facilities, and their operating hours or access procedures.
- Site availability and the process for ensuring the assigned site is vacant upon arrival.
- The clarity of site markings, especially for utility hookups.
While the positive feedback about a staff member and reasonable pricing is encouraging, the negative experience detailed in the other review raises red flags regarding communication, site management, and pricing transparency. Potential guests should prioritize obtaining clear and comprehensive information directly from Freedom RV Park before making a reservation to ensure a smooth and satisfactory stay in Sweetwater, Texas.

Freedom RV Park Reviews
We received 2 receipts by email but no instructions. No map. No check in info. No night check in box. Wi-Fi? No connection info, so who knows. The phone # given goes to an answering machine with the recording, "all agents are busy with other calls..."On the receipt we were assigned H04. Without a map we unhooked the Jeep to find row H. H04 was occupied. H02 wasn't. We took it. Where were the slots marked? Oh, there they are in tiny letters on the electric hookup box. Used a flashlight to find them by walking from box to box.The kicker? What I thought was a $45 overnight fee became$70 paid with all of the fees added in. Pool? Not that I saw. Restrooms? Laundry? Probably not. How would I get in if I did see them?I'll be very careful to now be taken by scams like this in the future. In the meanwhile I can warn others off.

Sep 24, 2024 · Denise HammMade a call an hour outside of this camp and she was able to set everything up for us to just drive in and hook up. Very nice people and was quiet. Best price!!!
Jul 02, 2024 · Janet Williams LeonGreat hands free, no contact experience. Safe location. Swimming pool. The bathrooms were less than attractive but functional none the less. Great rates. Low water pressure over at the camper, but excellent pressure in the public showers. Great recreation room with 2 billiards tables and a big screen tv. Nice people.
Jun 02, 2021 · Waynes GridNice place to stop along our travels. alot of full timers, but they were nice. The pool was very well maintained. Bathrooms are clean Only reason I gave 4 stars is because the showers need serious fixing updates. The staff lady was super nice.
