Great location, cool and comfy Yurts, friendly staff, and so much to do! My brother and I stayed 3 nights and saw Crater Lake National Park, Hood River, and had a fun day at Lost Lake! You can hike the 3 mile trail around the lake, among other trails, rent kayaks and paddle boards, go fishing or swimming! It’s a great day use area as well. I highly recommend staying here. Great for families, friends and kids! Dog friendly too. Couldn’t get better than here!

Lost Lake Campground is beautiful and well maintained. The lake and Mountain view are iconic. I spent Thursday and Friday night there. Thursday night was nice and quiet. Friday got busier and Friday night was noisy and disappointing with lots of rude campers and no enforcement of posted rules. There are signs posted that include quiet hours, no amplified music, or drones. We experienced all of these and more. People partying well past 2am, with the sounds echoing through the campground. There’s no way the hosts couldn’t hear it. Drones flying overhead at 8pm and 7am. So, if you want to party and not obey rules, come to Lost Lake. If you want to enjoy the sounds of nature and a serene lake, probably find something else less popular or come on a weekday.

Really great campsites with great access to the lake. It was very clean and well-taken care of. We really appreciate that there are no motorized boats allowed on Lost Lake.The walk-in campsites like the ones we used only have access to vault toilets and a water pump that you are not allowed to clean dishes at, so keep that in mind.If you are looking for lake access where you can spread out a towel on a beach, this might not be the place for you. You either will want to put on shoes you can go in the water with to avoid the sharp rocks, or rent a canoe or a paddle board for the day.You also have access to the camp store nearby that has just about everything you could need, so don’t worry if you forgot marshmallows or bug spray!

Lost Lake is a beautiful campground. Lots of bugs and if pit toilets aren’t your thing that is all they have here. The Lake is very pretty and there are trails everywhere. We only got a chance to walk around the lake.Warning: Some sites are walk in. I didn’t notice this when booking my campsite so my party and I were split up between where we parked the car and where our camping spot was. Make sure you figure that out before you book. Overall it was a good experience. The camp hosts were very friendly and checked in with you to see how your trip was going.

I came prepared to be put-off by the crowds, but was pleasantly surprised and didn't want to leave!The view alone is spectacular and post-card worthy.However, the campground was equally as spectacular, and made the stay that much more enjoyable. I stayed in D loop and my site was pin-drop quiet at night; private; and beautiful. The price was a bit steep (approximately $50 without electricity, but with a water spigot and vault toilet nearby), but it was worth it for the peace and quiet and access to the lake. (Full disclosure: I car camp, so that helps to cut down the noise from fellow campers. However, even car camping at state parks is often very noisy, so this site was a surprise with how quiet it was).To mitigate the crowds, I booked my stay on a weekday, and I didn't go to the lake until sunset and sunrise. You will deal with FAR fewer crowds that way and can truly enjoy the lake in solitude (especially at sunrise).Things to know before you go:• There is no cell service. I have US Cellular and service dropped approximately 1.5 miles from the entrance. There is also no public wifi available. You will truly be disconnected from technology.• If you're only planning to visit for the day, the day-use fee is $15 and you can purchase the pass at the entrance station.• If you already have a reservation at the campground, a day use pass is not required.• There are no motors allowed on the lake. They have boat rentals, but be prepared to over pay.• There is a general store with items you may have forgotten to bring and/or gifts to purchase, but again, be prepared to over pay.• There is a restaurant (also located within the store) with a limited menu. Those who are vegetarian/vegan or have dietary restrictions will not find much (if anything) to order from this menu, so plan accordingly.• The best view is from the North Day Use Area, located around the corner from the Lodge and General Store area. Parking is somewhat limited, so come early or late to secure a spot.• Those with mobility issues can still enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Hood over Lost Lake by way of the North Day Use Area.My only two complaints: They have hot showers available for purchase at their general store for $6 (for 15 minutes), but I personally felt that was too expensive and should have been included with the already expensive reservation fee. Also, I wish their restaurant would offer at least one vegetarian option (like a veggie or black bean burger). I couldn't have anything on their menu and that was a bummer.Other than that, this is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ location and one I think everybody should visit at least once.
