Spanish Main Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Thonotosassa, Florida area, Spanish Main, located at 12110 Spanish Main Resort Trail, Thonotosassa, FL 33592, USA, is a community that appears in search results. However, it is critical to thoroughly examine the available customer reviews before considering this location for either purchasing property or potentially for a long-term RV stay, should that be an option offered by the community.
The provided reviews for Spanish Main paint a concerning picture of the current living conditions and management practices. Multiple reviewers express significant dissatisfaction and strongly advise against purchasing property within this community. These negative experiences highlight several critical issues that prospective residents, including those seeking long-term RV parking, should be acutely aware of.
One recurring complaint revolves around persistent infrastructure problems. Residents report experiencing frequent "boil water notices" that have persisted for an extended period, long after a hurricane that was initially blamed for the issues. The ongoing nature of these water advisories raises serious concerns about the reliability and safety of the water supply within the community. Additionally, residents mention frequent power outages, further disrupting daily life and indicating potential instability in the electrical infrastructure.
Another significant issue raised in the reviews is related to ongoing construction and maintenance within the community. Residents describe workers "digging giant holes in our front yards" and "tearing up our yards and then just leaving huge holes and piles of dirt for weeks on end." This suggests a lack of coordination, prolonged disruption, and a disregard for the aesthetic and functional aspects of residents' properties. The description of "horribly loud construction 24/7" in one review indicates a severely disruptive living environment.
Beyond infrastructure and maintenance, the reviews also express strong dissatisfaction with the management and staff. One reviewer describes the workers as "seriously the rudest people," and further alleges that many do not speak English, hindering communication and the ability to receive assistance. This language barrier could create significant challenges for residents needing to address issues or seek support from the park's staff. The sentiment expressed is one of frustration and a lack of helpfulness from the on-site personnel.
The sense of community within Spanish Main is also negatively portrayed in one of the reviews. A resident describes neighbors as "loud, dirty, and can’t mind their own business," alleging that they "literally breaking their necks to look into my driveway and home." This paints a picture of a community where privacy is not respected and where negative interactions with neighbors are a concern. Such an environment could significantly detract from the quality of life for any potential resident, including those in RVs seeking a peaceful and respectful setting.
Furthermore, financial concerns are raised in one of the reviews. A resident who has not even lived in Spanish Main for a year expresses regret over purchasing property, stating that while "houses are nice and affordable, the lot rent price is not worth it." This suggests that the ongoing costs associated with living in the community, potentially exacerbated by the unreliable services and disruptive conditions, do not justify the expense. The reviewer explicitly advises thinking "super hard before you buy a place here" and states they are already ready to sell.
Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback in the provided reviews, it would be prudent for anyone searching for "RV parks near me" in the Thonotosassa area to exercise extreme caution when considering Spanish Main, even if it were to offer long-term RV spaces. The reported issues with infrastructure (water and electricity), ongoing disruptive construction, rude and unhelpful staff, and a negative community atmosphere are significant red flags. These conditions could severely impact the quality of life for RV residents seeking a stable and pleasant living environment.
Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided reviews. Due to the serious concerns raised by current residents, it would be advisable to seek alternative RV parks or communities in the Thonotosassa or Tampa Bay area that have more positive and reliable feedback regarding their management, infrastructure, and overall living conditions. Engaging with online forums, other review platforms, and directly visiting potential RV parks to speak with current residents would be a more prudent approach to finding a suitable location.
In conclusion, the limited information available for Spanish Main in Thonotosassa, FL, is overwhelmingly negative, highlighting significant problems with infrastructure, management, community atmosphere, and the overall value proposition for residents. While it is unknown whether Spanish Main accommodates long-term RV stays, the serious concerns raised by those living within the community should serve as a strong deterrent for anyone seeking a positive and stable living environment in their RV. Thoroughly researching alternative "RV parks near me" with more favorable reviews is strongly recommended.

Spanish Main Reviews
Wrote a review months ago and everything I complained about they blamed on the hurricane. Alright that’s fine the hurricane was 2 months prior to when I wrote the first review. It has now been almost 7 whole months since the hurricane and still constantly having boil water notices, still having the electric shut off , and people digging giant holes in our front yards. What the excuse now can’t blame the hurricane. This park sucks do not buy here it’s not worth it. The workers are seriously the rudest people, most don’t even speak English so won’t bother to try and help you if you can’t speak Spanish and the people in this neighborhood are loud, dirty, and can’t mind their own business literally breaking their necks to look into my driveway and home. I cannot wait until my house sells and I can leave this place.
Apr 21, 2025 · Alyssa RembackiThink super hard before you buy a place here. Houses are nice and affordable, but the lot rent price is not worth it. I haven’t even lived here for a year yet, and I’m ready to sell. Constantly under a boiling water notice, power is out all the time, mail is either stolen or lost every other day, there’s workers tearing up our yards and then just leaving huge holes and piles of dirt for weeks on end, gates constantly not working, and rude workers. Think very hard about buying here. Staying for a bit may not be bad but paying 700 dollars for no water, no power, and horribly loud construction 24/7. Forget it
Dec 06, 2024 · Alyssa RembackiWe lived here for two years. Granted they’re trying to improve the park, but over 2 years they had a lot of issues. Constant water boil notices, laundry room being 90+, hearing neighbors yelling in arguments throughout the night, people drinking and getting in fights at the pool, no one picks up after their dog, and the gate not working. The gym room can’t use both treadmills at the same time either or a breaker might flip.We were billed an extra month as some other reviews mention, and while they do refund it, it’s insane they think it’s okay to take $700 from someone for a week.
Oct 01, 2024 · Tanner ScaddenWe love living here at Spanish Main RV Resort! The front office staff are great no complaints whatsoever and the maintenance crew are great too. Thank you for making sure that your residents are aware and updated about the park.
