Blue Smoke Lodge Introduce
For local users and large groups searching for a spacious "camping near me" experience in the Sevierville, Tennessee area, Blue Smoke Lodge, located at 2741 Grn Mountain Wy, offers a potentially accommodating option. This huge and gorgeous cabin boasts ample space to comfortably host a large number of guests, making it suitable for family reunions, group vacations, or gatherings of friends looking to explore the Smoky Mountains region. While the cabin offers several appealing features, it's important to note some areas where improvements may be needed, as indicated by recent guest reviews.
On the positive side, Blue Smoke Lodge is described as very spacious and mostly very clean. The generous size of the cabin allows large groups to spread out comfortably, providing ample room for everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. The kitchen is highlighted as being well stocked and very clean and organized, making meal preparation for large groups significantly easier and more convenient. Guests can expect to find a good assortment of cookware, dishes, and utensils to cater to their needs. Furthermore, the bathrooms are reported to be extra clean and well stocked, with an abundance of towels provided, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic experience for all guests.
A significant feature of Blue Smoke Lodge, particularly appealing to families and groups with teenagers, is the downstairs area, which is equipped with plenty of games to keep younger guests entertained for hours. This dedicated entertainment space can be a valuable asset, especially during downtime or on days when outdoor activities are limited. The provision of games ensures that there are engaging options available within the cabin itself.
The linens and towels provided at Blue Smoke Lodge are consistently described as very clean and very comfortable, contributing to a pleasant and restful stay. Guests particularly appreciated the blankets on the beds, suggesting an added touch of comfort. Additionally, the presence of a refrigerator downstairs is noted as a very needed and convenient amenity, providing extra space for storing food and beverages, especially for larger groups.
However, alongside these positive aspects, several significant concerns have been raised by recent guests that potential renters should be aware of. One of the most prominent issues is the condition and cleanliness of the hot tub. Multiple reviews mention that the hot tub water has an unpleasant odor, described as smelling like rotten feet, and contains floating debris. This strongly suggests a lack of regular cleaning and maintenance, raising concerns about hygiene and potential health hazards. Guests considering using the hot tub should be aware of these reported issues.
Another major concern highlighted in the reviews pertains to the beds throughout the cabin, particularly those downstairs, including king beds and bunk beds. These beds are described as being old, likely from the 1980s, and suffering from significant sagging. Guests reported that the sagging was so severe that it caused them to roll outward while trying to sleep, making it difficult to get a comfortable night's rest. The mattresses are also described as extremely thin and uncomfortable, with worn-down springs and a noticeable hump in the middle of the bottom bunks, leading to an overall very poor rating for sleep quality.
Furthermore, the pool area is identified as another significant area of concern, with reviewers describing it as an extreme health hazard due to the presence of mold and mildew. The water itself is reported to have a foul odor, described as smelling like rotten moldy wet woods. Guests noted that their children carried this unpleasant, musty smell with them after using the pool. The mold and mildew are said to coat everything in the pool room, which lacks adequate ventilation. Additionally, the electrical outlets around the pool were reportedly non-GFI receptacles, posing a potential electrocution hazard. These issues indicate a severe lack of maintenance and potentially unsafe conditions in the pool area.
Safety concerns were also raised regarding the bunk beds, which reportedly cracked and made concerning noises when the children were in them. This suggests potential structural issues that could pose a risk to the occupants and disrupt sleep due to the unsettling sounds.
Finally, some guests noted that there was trash littered outside the cabin, detracting from the overall appeal and cleanliness of the property. While this might be a temporary issue, it is something to be aware of.
One reviewer mentioned that the pool water was cloudy and needed attention. They also suggested the addition of an ADA-compliant shower with a rail and seat, which could improve accessibility for guests with mobility issues. Another minor issue mentioned was a wasp problem, although this was noted alongside an otherwise great time.
In conclusion, Blue Smoke Lodge offers a spacious and potentially accommodating cabin for large groups seeking "camping near me" in the Sevierville area. The cabin boasts a well-stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfortable linens, and a downstairs game room. However, potential guests should be aware of significant concerns regarding the cleanliness and condition of the hot tub and pool, the comfort and quality of the beds, the structural integrity of the bunk beds, and potential issues with trash outside. While the cabin has its advantages in terms of size and certain amenities, addressing the reported maintenance and safety issues is crucial for ensuring a positive and healthy experience for future guests. Local users considering Blue Smoke Lodge for a large group getaway should weigh the spaciousness and certain amenities against the reported drawbacks and potentially inquire with the management about the status of these concerns before booking.

Blue Smoke Lodge Reviews
The good: the cabin was huge, gorgeous, very spacious, and mostly very clean. It accommodated a huge group easily. The kitchen was well stocked and very clean and organized. Bathrooms were extra clean, well stocked, and tons of towels were provided. Downstairs had plenty of games to keep teenagers occupied for hours on end. The linens and towels were all very clean and very comfortable. I especially loved the blankets on the beds. There was a fridge down stairs which was very needed! The cons: the hot tub water stinks like rotten feet, and there were chunks floating all in the water. It appears that the hot tub does not receive cleaning maintenance, a health hazard. The beds were from the 80s, they sagged really badly, and while trying to sleep, it would roll you outward badly. All of the beds downstairs had this issue, bunk beds, king beds, etc. They were extremely thin and uncomfortable, and it made sleeping a chore. The springs were extremely worn down, and the bottom bunks had a huge hump in the middle, making it overall a 1 out of 5 for sleep. The pool is a health hazard to the extreme due to mold and mildew. The water itself smells like rotten moldy wet woods. When the kids got out and came inside, they all had that musky, wet, moldy wood smell. There is mold and mildew coated all over everything, no ventilation, and the plug-ins around the pool were non GFI recepticles posing an electrocution hazard. The pool room and the hot tub need immediate attention from neglect. The bunk beds cracked and made a ton of concerning noise when the kids were in them, making it hard to sleep through the cracking noises. There was trash littered everywhere outside.
Feb 24, 2025 · Nikol AideEnjoyed the cabin. Only suggestions are the watering the pool was very cloudy. Needs some attention. I would suggest that you have 1 shower that is ADA compliant . A rail and seat would get great. Other than the wasp problem, it was a great time.
