Welcome to Bobcat Meadow Campground, a serene and well-maintained camping destination located on Los Pinos Rd in Campo, California. For local users searching for "Camping Near Me," Bobcat Meadow Campground offers a unique opportunity to experience the quiet beauty of the high desert oak savannah. Based on the positive feedback from recent visitors, this campground provides a clean and tranquil environment, conveniently located near off-highway vehicle (OHV) areas while still maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. Its acceptance of the adventure pass also adds to its appeal, making it an accessible option for many outdoor enthusiasts.
The environment surrounding Bobcat Meadow Campground in Campo is characterized by the distinctive high desert oak savannah ecosystem. This biome is known for its scattered oak trees amidst a backdrop of arid or semi-arid conditions, creating a unique landscape that blends woodland and open country. Campers can expect to be immersed in this natural beauty, with opportunities for observing local flora and fauna adapted to this environment. The high desert climate typically offers clear skies and starry nights, enhancing the camping experience. The mention of it being a "very clean" campground suggests that the natural environment is well-preserved and that the facilities are maintained to a high standard, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable stay.
One of the significant features of Bobcat Meadow Campground, as highlighted by a reviewer, is its acceptance of the adventure pass. The California Adventure Pass is a day-use pass that allows access to many California State Parks and other recreation areas. The fact that this campground honors the adventure pass makes it a more affordable and accessible option for those who already possess or are willing to purchase one. This can be a considerable benefit for frequent outdoor enthusiasts in California, reducing the overall cost of their camping trips and encouraging more frequent visits to beautiful locations like Bobcat Meadow.
Another notable aspect of Bobcat Meadow Campground is its surprisingly quiet atmosphere despite its proximity to an OHV area. Off-highway vehicle recreation can sometimes be associated with noise, but according to a satisfied camper, Bobcat Meadow remains "pretty quiet." This suggests that the campground is either situated at a sufficient distance from the OHV activity to minimize noise impact or that the OHV area itself is managed in a way that respects the tranquility of the nearby campground. This balance of accessibility to recreational activities and the preservation of a peaceful camping environment is a significant draw for many visitors.
The reviews, while brief, consistently praise the campground. One visitor described it as a "fantastic weekend trip," indicating that Bobcat Meadow is an ideal destination for a short getaway to reconnect with nature. The combination of a clean environment, quiet atmosphere, and the ability to use an adventure pass likely contributes to this positive experience. The high desert oak savannah setting offers a unique backdrop for camping, different from coastal or high mountain environments, providing a diverse range of natural beauty to explore.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive testimonials themselves serve as a strong form of promotion. Love these campgrounds because you can stay with an adventure pass! It's actually pretty quiet even though the OHV area is close. Fantastic weekend trip!

Jan 13, 2018 · Maxwell ElstadDecent campsite for free with the Adventure Pass), $5/night otherwise. I have stayed here several times tent camping, but normally pack-up each morning. Site only has fire ring, but cannot be used when fire restrictions are in place. Campground has a vault toilet. No drinking water here, but have water in buckets to put out your camp fire.Have had no interaction with any Rangers; very few other campers during the week - Monday - Thursday. Some shade, see wildlife up close - deer, rabbits, birds, hear the coyotes, etc. Seven miles of rough paved road to get to the campground.
Jun 21, 2021 · David PartridgeA great campground for riding the trails of Corral Canyon. There are maps located at the front of the campground showing all of the trails, the outhouse just had a single stall but was very clean, there are firepits in every campsite, and the scenery was beautiful! I would definitely stay here again!
Mar 19, 2017 · Kody MurrayPretty great spot to camp if you're wheeling Corral. Free, which is nice. Outhouse is kind of a far walk if you need to use it, but other than that it's perfect for what it is. Right next to the trailhead of Sidewinder, which is one of my favorite trails to start with there.
